1 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 11/16/2018

I have a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado lt 4wd crew cab. Multiple times on a cold start the engine is misfiring. The check engine like comes on, the vsa, and t/c lights all come on and a notification on the dash saying stabilitrak is disabled. The vehicle shakes terribly. The check engine light will flash and then go solid. I am an automotive technician. I know that a misfire should set a hard dtc. When the vehicle is turned off and started several hours later there is no check engine light or any other light on. The dealership in marysville, OH had my truck for 3 days and told me they cleaned a bunch of terminals at several connectors. Whatever that is supposed to do. They said they started the vehicle several times after and everything was good. The next day after I picked the truck up, it did the same exact thing! extremely frustrating! I know a continuous misfire let's unburned fuel into the catalytic converter which leads to premature breakdown of the catalyst. So my question is what is being done about these issues? another issue is with the transmission. On a cold start there is a clunk noise. Then when you are driving at cruising speed and you let off the throttle and depress throttle again there is a shudder. Also, when you come to a complete stop the vehicle tries to jolt forward. This is extremely concerning especially on a vehicle with roughly 18,000 miles on it. This needs to be addressed promptly!!.

2 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 03/28/2017

On February 21, 2017 while making a right turn, my 2016 Chevrolet Colorado 4wd crew cab turned itself off. On February 22, 2017 richard lucas Chevrolet looked at the vehicle for 5 hours an drove the vehicle around several times and were "unable to duplicate concern. " I was told to call back if the issue ever popped up again, but it was believed to be unlikely. March 28, 2017 while driving home from work, my Colorado ignition made a click noise, and the ignition key turned itself off yet again. This time around was much different than the first occurrence as I had no brakes to stop the vehicle. To stop the vehicle I had to shift into park which I was able to do. Vehicle will be returning to the richard lucas auto center to be reevaluated. On the first occurrence the vehicle was in motion on a county road while completing a turn and the second time it happened while going straight on a residential street.

4 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 11/12/2014

15% of the time my 2011 chevy Colorado will not turn over. It is completely sporadic. Sometimes it won't start first thing in the morning, making me late to work. Sometimes, I get all the way to my destination, or to a gas station and when I turn the truck off and turn it back on it won't turn over. Everything else seems to be working fine, my radio, my air conditioning, all my lights function just as they should but my motor will not turn over. There are no clicking noises, or other starting noises when I try to turn the key. I have sat and tried to start the car 5-100 times, nothing. I thought maybe is was user error, nope. Nothing I have done will start my truck. After waiting 20 minutes to an hour if I try to start it, it starts right up like there were no previous issues. I work in one of the most dangerous cities in America. My biggest fear is having an unreliable vehicle. I have brought it to the dealership 9 different times. I have had the truck for 6 months, and it has been at the dealership for 7 weeks non-consecutively. When I bring my truck to the dealership they tell me that they can not "recreate the problem" which makes me believe they do not care to recreate it because they have had it for almost 2 months, then the second I get it back it is still not starting 100% of the time. I have looked online and I have come across many stories similar to mine. They also all say that this should be a recall. I have gotten the better business bureau involved in my case, and I am dreading contacting an attorney just because I love gm. I will never buy a vehicle that is not gm. I just need a reliable truck.
