1 Engine Oil Leaking problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 02/06/2018

While driving home, yellow check engine light came on & I noticed reduction of oil pressure. Parked in driveway, shut off engine, went inside. Upon returning, noticed significant amount of oil on driveway. Dipstick showed no oil. Towed to dealership. They verified leaking came from defective oil cooler line hose. Waited several days for replacement part. This is a new 2018 Colorado z71 with only 5k miles on engine. And, this is a systemic problem that gm has known about since 2015 and impacts both Colorado and canyon models (there are several complaints on web). This is a dangerous problem and should be investigated before someone gets hurt. It was not a slow leak. Obviously, it is manufacturing problem. Additional information (invoice and pictures) available upon request.

3 Engine Oil Leaking problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 03/15/2012

I bought this truck a little over 2 months ago. Since purchasing the truck the check engine light came on, I had to have the gas tank float/fuel sending unit replaced, I had to have the ac repaired because the ac would turn on and then constantly turn on and off at first and then it stopped working all together, I had to have transmission seal replaced because it started leaking, and now I have this awful vibration when I accelerate and I have to keep the window cracked open because the sound of the vibration inside the truck is so loud it makes me feel like my head is going to explode. I was not made aware of any problems with this truck as a matter of fact the dealer told me the truck had just been serviced, the oil was changed and there were no problems with the truck. I realize that I bought a used vehicle and it's not going to be in perfect brand new condition but this is ridiculous so now I am stuck with a truck that has many problems that Chevrolet has been obviously aware of since the beginning and I am out the money I paid for the truck. I can't afford to spend all this money to keep fixing this truck just for something else to have to be fixed. I was told that I don't have grounds to file a complaint based on the lemon law and the dealer won't let me trade this truck for something else or fix the problems so I'm stuck.

4 Engine Oil Leaking problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 01/21/2005

I purchased a new 2005 chevy Colorado in November, 2004. I did my first oil change at about 500 miles. My second oil change was done about 2,000 miles. At that time I noticed oil dripping from the rear portion of the engine. I pulled off a rubber cover on the bottom of the transmission and noticed drips coming from the rear main seal area. I called the deal and they told me to bring it in, which I did. A couple of days later I received call telling me the rear main seal was leaking and they would need to replace it, saying it was a factory assembly error. About 2 weeks later I changed the oil again at about 3,500 miles and noticed oil leaking again from the same area. I called the dealer again and was told doubtful it is the seal again, but to bring it in. Again I got a call saying the seal was in fact leaking again and they would again need to replace it. Now a few weeks later, I went to change the oil at about 4,800 miles on it ( I do change my oil frequently) and sure enough, there was oil dripping from the same area. This time I called the dealer and they said they need to contact chevy technical support for possible answerss. I still have an oil leak at the rear main seal. . .
