4 Car Will Not Start problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 01/30/2015

Vehicle failed to start after being driven, this happened twice previously, once at approximately 59k and again at approximately 60k miles. It appears this is the same problem other 2007 Colorado owners have identified. Vehicle cranks, but does not fire as there appears to be no fuel flow. Again after waiting 10-15 minutes it will start. This is not a safe situation for any vehicle owner, if there should be an emergency that the owner needs to get away from, waiting to get your vehicle started is not an acceptable activity for anybody. I am a safety officer with a state dot agency and must be able to respond after hours for emergency events, should my vehicle not start, waiting is not an acceptable answer for my delay.

6 Car Will Not Start problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 08/06/2014

The vehicle will not start. The engine turns over however the vehicle will not start. After fifteen to twenty minutes the vehicle starts. Today my 17 year old daughter is at a friends house some distance away and the vehicle will not start. I have taken the vehicle to my mechanic and have discovered that this is a known issue with this vehicle. I am surprised that there has not been a recall for the ignition switch by Chevrolet. I would like to know what if any options I have other than to take my vehicle back to a Chevrolet dealer and have them install and re-program the computer system to the new ignition system which by the way per all of the similar complaints I have recently found on the internet is definitely defective. I am also wondering if this is the prelude to the current ignition problem the g. M refused to recognize after numerous complaints that unfortunately ended in causing numerous accidents and truly unfortunate deaths which all were uncalled for. I have researched my vehicle on the internet and have found no recall other than that of a child car seat issue which does not apply to my vehicle as I have two fold down seats in the xtra cab.

9 Car Will Not Start problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 01/15/2014

No crank/ no start. This is a widesperead and very common issue with all years chevy Colorados and happens intermittently where the engine will not crank (turn over). This can be a particularly unsafe issue for manual transmission models if for some reason the vehicle is stalled in traffic or leaving the driver stranded in some remote area under adverse weather conditions, for example and will not start. This happens sporatically, very difficult to duplicate making this vehicle unreliable and unsafe. Gm does not acknowledge there in an electrical problem as no recalls have been issued.

21 Car Will Not Start problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 10/16/2008

The passlock system is an issue with this vehicle. The vehicle will not start on occasion, or in my case several occasions. Not only is it inconvenient, but I ask, what has happened to people who have stalled with this vehicle at stop lights or in other situations? I live in an area where the weather can drop to -30 (f). 10 minutes to wait for the system to reset can have detrimental effects. How many fatalities and injuries will it take before gm and the NHTSA act? this is a safety issue and it needs to be addressed. Our tax dollars bailed out gm, I expect a product that will not put me in a dangerous situation. Thank you for your time.

22 Car Will Not Start problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 04/12/2006

Vehicle purchased new on 05/2006. Less than a month after purchase the vehicle would not start due to passlock system believing the car was in the process of becoming stolen. Owner would unlock vehicle with key fob and place key in ignition to start, but red lock icon on dashboard would blink and engine would not turn over. Original key and original key fob used at all times of occurrence. Owner would have to wait ten minutes and try again if vehicle would not start for passlock system to disengage. While under warranty, customer brought vehicle into gm dealer multiple times and the problem could not be verified. This left customer stranded in multiple locations at times and in situations that could have left owner in a dangerous situation based on area. At one point, customer could not start vehicle after a half hour, he than called gm and had the vehicle towed under warranty, the gm dealership stated problem was fixed or corrected. Now, no longer under warranty vehicle has same issue occurring intermittently. Cost to replace passlock sensor is too costly for owner to afford. Other vehicle maintenance is properly done according to owner's manual by local mechanic. . Read more...

23 Car Will Not Start problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 03/06/2006

Some times, the car will not start if the ignition key lock light blinks. I have to wait ten minutes so that it starts I have taking it to the dealer and they have said that it has a faulty ignition housing, of course they want to charge me a lot to fix it. I believe is a factory defect. My truck has a salvage title, so the warranty on it was voided. I have heard of other chevy Colorado trucks with same problem.
