2 Starter problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 12/24/2019

My 2007 Chevrolet Colorado LS 4 cylinder 2. 9 litre has always randomly won't start. I researched this and every year of the Colorado has had this issue of randomly not starting, countless dollars have been spent trying to figure it out, Chevrolet will not say it is an issue and it is a huge issue for almost every single year. Passlock issue? just costed me 266. 00 at the chev garage and my truck still is struggling to start, been told starter and battery are fine. Alternator voltage regulator are fine. Lemon please recall for this issue it's so unfair to us consumers to waste money trying to figure out a faulty design in a vehicle. Go on you tube, countless people share the same issue. Could get me fired from my job for my truck not starting constantly. It will start countless times then not start usually when you need it the most. Estero bay Chevrolet has my records.

3 Starter problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 10/15/2019

I have an ongoing problem with a 2011 Chevrolet Colorado truck not starting on numerous occasions. I have went to one dealership that could not help me after an entire day. I have talked to two other dealerships that could not help me. I have had an independent shop try to determine the problem. The truck periodically will not start and then after 15-30 minutes it will just start. The computer will not pick up anything. The battery is good. The starter is good. The alternator is good. After googling to see what others might say which did bring up issues with Chevrolet, GMC, and hummer. One person said it was the ignition switch. When I ask all 3 dealerships and Chevrolet customer service they all told me I was wrong. That something else was the issue and I needed to figure it out. I am not happy.

4 Starter problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 09/09/2017

Vehicles bcm-body control module is defective or the system in its self is defective. Vehicles will not start or may shut off at random from time to time. Scan tools will not be able to recognize the problem as the bcm. So repairs made may make it seem like it fixed the problem but a couple hours/days/weeks later the problem will disguise it self as something else or even come back as the same problem. I myself was told it was the starter and hey it worked, until 3 hours later. Then told the ignition passlock was defective, got it fixed until 1 hour later. Now I have narrowed it down to what controls the whole system, the bcm. Many people have complaints about this same issue all over the web forums, I dont know if any has been reported to NHTSA. So I figured I would start. I have this system effects 2004-2012 models of chevy Colorado, GMC canyon and hummer h3.

7 Starter problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 01/02/2013

Everyday now when I try to start the truck it turns over but will not start, wait 15 minutes then it will start. Today when I tried it the first time it turned over but would not start so when I turned it off at the key it stopped then tried to start again on its own for about 8 to 10 secs. The starter turned the engine over without touching the ignition switch it then stopped for about 3 or 4 secs then tried to start on its own again without touching the key, it did this start sequence 3 times in a row. The gm passlock system is terribly defective as reported by all the reports online and I believe my problems are a result of this system.

8 Starter problem of the 2008 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 08/17/2011

Frequently, due to some failed or intermittent sensor in the pass lock system, truck will simply not start or function. Truck will not engage the starter and if bypassed will not engage furl or spark systems. System is designed to prevent theft but upon intermittent failure, prevents normal usage. Pass lock light will appear on dash. Car will not start, ten minute periods will pass when system is supposed to reset, but often it will not which means another 10 minute wait for next reset. At times it takes up to four resets to convince the security system to accept the input. I often now carry two sets of keys to try to increase the signal strength-no idea if that helps. I would hate to be in an unsafe area or out in -20 degree weather with this piece of crap gm engineering. Dealer uses the "can't duplicate problem but we will be happy to just randomly begin replacing parts at your expense" approach. A mandatory recall to force the corporation to fix this rampant (google passlock and see the cottage industry trying to fix this piece of crap engineering) problem in gm vehicles.
