The vehicle pps fails to work when my wife is in the passenger seat. The air bag system and seat belt alarm fail to function, my wife is a slight woman weighing approx. 95 lbs. Dealer checked system found no faults it was went to zero but still fails to work, no one seems to know what minimum weight is required to activate system. Chevrolet says NHTSA has that info can you help?.

Air bag not functioning properly. The light blinks upon start up and then turns off, about 30 seconds to 1 min later it comes back on and stays on. Chevy will not look at it because im over 36k miles.

On 10/15/2004, I began to turn the ignition key of my 2004 Chevrolet Colorado automobile. The vehicle was parked. Just as I turned the ignition, the steering wheel airbag inflated. The steering wheel airbag inflated for no reason. The vehicle is still under warranty since I have only owned the vehicle several weeks. The manufacturer will be replacing the airbag under warranty. The airbag inflation did not result in serious injury. The only injury was a rug burn like feeling to the face and a sore left eye and a sore left hand. Neither appear to be serious.
