1 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Corvette

Failure Date: 08/05/2017

At 65mph, driving down the highway, the car made a horrendous loud clattering sound and the motor locked up. Pulled to the side of the road to see oil pouring out the side of the engine block, where the valve was spit out - causing a huge hole in the side of the motor.

2 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2008 Chevrolet Corvette

Failure Date: 03/17/2017

Engine is making a loud ticking noise. Shop recommended to replace valve guides and remachine cylinder heads. This is to prevent a valve dropping into the engine due to out of spec cylinder heads from the oem supplier. This is a high occurrence problem that has low or remote detection methods. The severity presents a potential safety/fire hazard.

3 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette

Failure Date: 03/04/2017

I was going down the highway and noticed that the Corvette was getting really hot, than about 5 min later onstar reported a engine, trans, and rear end problem along with a loud clanking noise from the motor. Now it only does about 65 thank it goes to 5k rpms and goes nowhere.

4 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2008 Chevrolet Corvette

Failure Date: 05/23/2013

I was driving on the freeway at night on my way home around 11pm when my low beam lights went dark and would not turn back on. I've checked all the forums about this problem and it is happening a lot, but apparently gm wont include the 2008 vehicles even though ones like mine have the same equipment as earlier models with the same problems. A few days prior, my girlfriend was driving the car, and complained about the same problem, but I just thought it was because she didn't know how to operate the car. Once I get it fixed, how do I know the lights wont mysteriously go off again?! I'm very disappointed in all the electrical problems with this vehicle, and this is the last straw. (after only 38k miles the fuel tank gauge stopped working. At 60k miles the car was having issues with overheating because the fans wouldn't turn on. At 75k miles a clunking noise started coming from the differential. It's a stock car mind you. And now at 85k miles 2008, the headlights wont turn on. Gm simply won't stand behind the car, and so I've been left to figure it out on my own. So much for buying my dream car. It seems more like a nightmare. ).
