Several times during ownership (bought used in 2021 with 13,000 miles at purchase, currently 35,000 miles on car. Entire instrument cluster including center screen and center console shifter selector goes completely dark. This includes both speedometer indicators. No apparent cause, no advance warning, screen(s) just "black out". After some time. . . 30-40 seconds to as long as 2-3 minutes all console and instruments lights come back on. Happens during daytime and nighttime usage, with heater and/or air conditioning in use.

While driving home on the interstate after work, I was travelling at around 65 miles per hour, with the cruise control set at that speed. In an instant I lost all engine power and began to slow down very rapidly. A quick look to the rearview mirror to ensure nothing was approaching the rear of my vehicle, I found that I could see nothing except grey and white smoke behind me from all three mirrors. I was forced to remove myself from the highway for fear of causing an accident by blinding drivers with the smoke coming from my exhaust, and I was able to use the service road to get to the next fueling station. Upon arrival, I opened the hood and found that oil had sprayed out of every available portal in the engine, it exited through the vacuum lines, pressure sensors onto my alternator, saturated my serpentine belt as well as everything else ion the engine compartment. I noticed most of the oil came from a round hole behind the oil filler cap through a busted vacuum diaphragm that had blown out instead of regulating vacuum, indicating extreme positive pressure in the crankcase. As this was my mos in the army, I am experienced with dangers and risks involved in these situations, and I will give warning that if this happens during the right traffic situations, lives will be lost as a result of the smoke screen developimg when the oil hits the catalytic convertors combined with the rapid decline in speed without warning of any kind, and when it does happen, and it will, since there are 8 million of these vehicles on the road and counting, this complaint should serve as proper and fair warning od the damgers and risks with allowing this engine to remain in use without a warning system to indicate the tiny plastic check valve has been released from its position. I was fortunate enough that I only suffered a few curse words and horns blowing and flipping me the bird, but I have to admit I was afraid for my life and someone with less driving experience will have a bad outcom.

The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that a faulty high mount stop lamp gasket allowed water to leak into the trunk and fill the rear compartment battery tub, resulting in water damage to the multifunction power supply converter, fuel pump power control module, and fuse block. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to customer satisfaction program 16147, but the vehicle was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 90,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the door locks were opening and closing independently. The contact stated that the instrument cluster was also flashing several unknown warning lights. The contact stated that the heater and the a/c were also functioning independently. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent at first but became a constant failure. Additionally, the contact stated that the transmission occasionally slipped out of gear, almost causing the vehicle to stall, making the steering wheel difficult to turn. The contact replaced the 12-volt battery and the fuse box; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 177,000.
This is the second time the car will show reduced power and completely come to a slow speed without warnings. Previously gm had issues with the crude pedal and other systems related to the reduce I. Velocity. An investogation on either faulty parts is required as this is a major issue that can or could caused accidents. I had the issue looked and supposedly repair in December 2023 now the issues is back. I was driving in hope meadow road simbsbury CT and the speed reduced without warnings almost causing an accident. The repair has not even been 3 months and the car is faulty.

2011 Chevrolet Cruze. 1. 4 engine. Manual transmission. No accidents. Mileage: 69,000 the engine has stopped while driving 3 times in last year (2023) January (5 degrees), sept and November. Battery is 2 years old. Replaced negative battery cable with (oem), after 2nd engine stop, after reading that negative cables have history of going bad over time. Very dangerous, especially in dark. All lights, head lights, dash lights and engine stop. Emergency flashers work. I coast to the side of road, and try to restart. It will restart after about 5 minutes. I have gotten a check air bag message on dash. First, two times I took to a mechanic and they said there are no repair codes coming up from computer.
My engine light has been randomly coming on then off leaving many history codes. It's normally a diesel particulate filter code and I have paid hundreds replacing each sensor or part. So this time, carroll Buick of venice fla says the embedded code is saying I need an engine control module , same code. I'm still driving it they say it's safe to drive because the part $900. 00, plus labor, is backorder. I'm a bit over 100,000 miles and I have a lifetime power train warranty but it won't cover any electrical parts only greased literal parts of engine or transmission. I'm not certain it's true anymore they replaced everything so far over 2 years but I'm at theor mercy. Zurich warranty is not covering this and I'm shocked it went just b4 100k miles and now I'm at 107k. I feel chevy should own this issue since I've been told to keep driving it with the engine light on. I'm really scared but I need it to go to work please help thx.

Vehicle, when parked in garage with key in the ignition, will start all by itself. There have been several times in the past when I could hear the car attempt to start itself unsuccessfully in the garage as well. I run down to remove the key from the ignition when this happens. Idling engine in an enclosed garage can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning to home owner and occupants. Removing key from ignition when parked alleviates problem however this has happened several times now both in and out of garage. One owner vehicle since new, no other keys or objects on key ring/fob when this has happened. Vehicle has 75k miles. Problem began at around 70k miles. Car has been garaged and well cared-for it’s entire life.

The car's theft deterrent is not able to be turned off and is causing the car to stop working. I was driving my car on the highway and all of a sudden it completely shut off. I had it towed home. I replaced the battery and it worked for a short period of time but then shut off again. My mechanic states that the theft deterrent is getting triggered. We replaced the battery, fob battery, and checked everything it could possibly be with no luck. The car is too dangerous to drive and has caused missed work and loss of income.

I have had my 2014 chevy Cruze for 2 years now and have kept up with regular maintenance. My vehicle rocks back and forth while on the brakes, there’s an constant issue with the traction control system, my automatic lights don’t work (I have to many turn on the light in order for the brake lights to turn on), the vehicle shakes side to side when braked, and so much more. When I take the vehicle to be looked at every mechanic and shop tells me there’s nothing wrong or they don’t know.
Everything that has to do with the air in cabin and air intake for engine fails. Have issues all the time with it , told I need to fix one part then that fails again. Can’t use the ac in this car more than half the time if not an issue arises. Now I can’t get my inspection because again the same codes: p0097, p0171,p11c3, p 2199 at first I had only an issue with the maf new one was placed and now all these errors popped up. The electrical also gave me issues before the lights are not as bright anymore in the car not the headlights. Too afraid to change them because I need the vehicle for my medical appointments and to pick up kids from school.
I have had my car in the shop multiple times causing me to lose work. On july24 my car radio shutoff,and on dashboard light off , inside lamp lights flickered. A message of service stabilitrak, service steering. Car parked within 3 miles. I called aaa and towed to koons whitemarsh immediately. I told advisor what happened. After she called next day to say battery was bad. I remembered that there was a recall on negative battery cable. My battery was checked on 7-11-23 and was fine. My battery was installed 10-21-20. No problems with electrical. I requested to have cable replaced because I have been in the shop to much missing work. Then I foundthere is a service bulletin recall for exactly what was happening with my car. I was told my VIN didn't match and that was it!! despite being my exact problem. I am female so I think I was just ignored. I got a battery that I may not have needed and requested cable because I didn't want to loose steering. By stopping so soon code may not have appeared at dealer. Igot a $70help with bill of $626 for a repair. Should be included in this recall despite VIN . I have exactly what is recalled. . Sometimes cars are added to recalls after initial recall.
Value covers leaking oil and I replace it 6 times and it keep leaking.
Car has been having issues with the powertrain since purchased with 0 miles. The car will start flashing warning sensors but when taken into the dealer/mechanic everything is ok. . Car stopped today in the middle of a busy street and started shaking. Car will shake hard when it is stopped at times. It was taken to 2 different Chevrolet dealers who said they forgot to check it.
I was going down road and car shut off and immediately came back on and down road it did it again and all dash lights and interior light came on and had to restart car and dash said service sterilitrak soon.
Unknown! I do not have much car knowledge but I do know that the transmission has blown in my 2018 chevy Cruze two times and the shifter made a clicking noise that was very alarming. I have a video but the option to upload a file is only for pictures, I think the video is very crucial to understanding what I mean by clicking noise. The noise was would come randomly about 4 months after having the car. At the time I was 18 years old with no experience of even having my own vehicle and didn’t know I should have taken it back, now it’s too late because my warranty is up. This issue is common and many experts I’ve spoken to are aware that the chevy Cruzes have transmission issues. There was a recall for a “transmission bolt” I took my car to chevy Cruze in poughkeepsie new york for the recall and 18 days later my transmission blew.
I purchased 2013 chevy Cruze in 2021. Starting with steering going out, all electrical power is affected. Radio comes on and off. Light comes on to check stab trak. Engine started while key in ignition but I wasn't in car. I can't afford to get a different car now a days. I'm disabled and need this car to get to my dr appts but I'm afraid the vehicle will kill me, someone or worse. This vehicle needs a very very serious recall to fix this before someone is killed. I believe it is the ignition switch, my car has been chugging or hesitating while driving and you can also feel it when you are sitting idling and while one the park position. I’ve also read that there are several others that own a Cruze and have this issue. Sometimes as well you stick the key in the ignition and there is no connection no noise as like it’s trying to turn over you have to continue to turn the key off and on to finally get a connection and sometimes when you drive and then park and turn the key off the car tries to restart by it’s self. I believe these are issues that seriously need fixed by gm or chevy- no one should have to pay the price of a car for this to occur! I also do all recommended maintenance as suggested to my vehicle. I am taking the vehicle to be fixed on 5-9-23.
The negative battery cable terminal clamp has an insufficient crimp at the battery negative terminal causing intermittent issues with the vehicle. Radio/hvac display has turned off and on; the antilock brake system, service traction system, service stabilitrac and steering vehicle messages come on and off; the turn signal sound may not be heard; “service steering” displays in the driver information center (dic); and the interior and exterior lighting flickers. Power steering assist has also be lost, and greater effort has been needed to turn the steering wheel at low speeds or while the vehicle is stopped. This is a known safety issue and sb-100-57574-8899 was previously issued for some but not all of the chevy Cruze models and my 2014 should have been included in this recall.
I have replaced the pvc valve cover 3times and the engine coolant housing 4 times with in 2years. The vehicle still leaks coolant even though all hoses connections and reservoir has been replaced. The ground cable has been replaced twice. The car warning dash comes on saying "service traction control" abs? the radio shuts off as well as all stereo lighting. When vehicle is at a stop it sometimes kicks, I thought I got tapped from the back that's how much of a jolt it does but no vehicle behind me. It's also sluggish when taking off.
First incident. 4 hours into 8 hour road trip. Flashing check engine light. Stabilitrack failure. Misfire codes. Took it to 4 different shops in las vegas nevada. Non would complete repair. Took it to dealer in utah hour and 45 minutes away, jerking missfires loss of power and power steering, dealer offered to do repair for 1800$ :/. Repair completed. Drove 150 miles, codes popped back up to it into mechanic, reported coolant leak and misfires, replaced ign coil. Replaced spark plugs, fixed leaks. 1400$ 6 weeks later turbo seized, misfires shaking and in ability to drive faster than 35mph loss of power steering. Excessive coolant leak, repair 1170$ 3 weeks later misfire codes, loss of stabilitrack, and tc, replaced spark plugs, car is currently all over the road, pulls left then pulls right, car vibrates terribly when 55mph+ suspension in rear is almost completely defective, I can lift the car 3” with my bare hands… over active abs. 35mph no snow or ice, new brake pads 120 miles ago. Radio will turn on and off whenever it wants while driving. Car consistory idles between 750-1300* rpm. Car clearly has no sway bars. Horrible ticking and rattling noises. Paid thousands of dollars into getting a thermostat housing and thermostat leaking antifreeze a couple months ago started leaking antifreeze again just now.
I wanted to file this because I feel this a safety concern. My vehicle has always been kept up on maintenance. One day out no where it started acting up my 2013 chevy Cruze LS. I had a shop come back after they did a diagnostic that is was a faulty throttle body sensor and pcv. I have issues with it shutting off and I’ll have to coast it to stop. What I’m not understanding how can there be recalls for my vechicle same problems same make/model but it’s not showing my vehicle matching up with my VIN #. I do have all the supporting documents and paperwork stating these issues.
I bought a new catalytic converter on the vehicle and had old parts replaced. There aren’t any leaks. I received an engine diagnostic test and still comes back with p0240 code.
When I turn left or right stereo shuts off all my warning lights come on and steering gos out. And sometimes it shuts down. Almost got hit a cause it did this . This is a serious safety issue. Nobody can pin point the problem. Then a code says open and close drivers window. If I get killed cause this car does this . And getting worse . Chevy will be sued . Can you get chevy to repair this possible faulty . Problem. May a recall in electric system.
My car just shut off by itself while I was driving without any warning. My check engine light isn’t on and I just got my car out of the shop a few weeks ago, so I’m not sure why this happened. It is not safe and was definitely scary, being that I am pregnant and also had daughter with me.

My reverse camera stays on for a few minutes after putting it in drive which is distracting. I keep looking down at the screen to see how long it takes to go out and back to my radio screen. The trunk randomly opens even when I am driving and then it won't open at all. The bluetooth randomly cuts out while I am driving and talking on the phone which causes me to become distracted while driving. There is an issue when I put gas in the car as well. I have bought 2 gas caps, the one on there now is oem dealer cap. The cap is on with 3-4 clicks, no check engine light but when I stop at a light, the car feels like it going to stall. No lights come on when it does that.
My front catalytic convertor has gone out at 160,000 miles heard it could possibly be die to ecm?.
While driving the light came one engine overheating a/c shut off. There was a leak of coolant. I was stranded on the side of the road. We had it brought to a mechanic. They repaired the problem. Within 3 days it started again, the mechanic thought it was a faulty part so replaced it. After a week it happened again. We had it repaired again. Now 2 months later it is happening again. Once again stranded on the side of the road this has happened 4 times in 2 months and looks to be a very common issue with a simple search online. Multiple parts replaced and still stranded9.
I purchased a car on 8-11& I didn’t pick it up until 8/13 of this year . On 8/14 the electrical went out of my middle consol starting with the radio and then down to the heating and air-conditioning buttons along with the fact that the windows would not roll down or up . When you use the bluetooth in the car the ac shuts down and I hear a roaring sound coming from the engine as well as whenever I stop the car just jumps. There is also a sound in the steering wheel whatever it’s turned right to left.
The car began to shake uncontrollably on the freeway at 55/mph . The car then marked "engine power is reduced", causing the car to no longer accelerate more than 5-7/mph. This is a very dangerous situation because it can cause a terrible accident on the road since it's a random inconvenience. I have heard that many of these types of cars "chevy Cruze" seem to experience the same type of problem. With that being said it's safe to say that as an owner this situation is far out of my control and it's definitely a collective problem with the type of car and make that it is. I ask for this to be immediately looked into.
