While I was driving my car will say roll driver window up and down. Then it lost power steering for a few seconds. Parked it at my house went to start it and it lost all power but the flashers stayed on. It has happened twice in the passer two weeks. I talked to another person that had the same car and theirs did the same thing.

2 Lose Power Steering problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 12/02/2019

While driving, the car radio has cut out multiple times while service stabilitrack has been displayed on the dash. The battery was replaced and the issues continued. This is mainly seen while slowing down or stopping at a red light. The lack of power to the car threatens safety as my turn signals failed to work and I lost power steering on one occasion. I personally researched this issue through online forums and found out that many others share the same problem. The result may be a faulty negative battery connection.

3 Lose Power Steering problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 04/09/2019

Takata recall. Recently while driving, my car will randomly say service stabilitrak or service traction control whenever I turn the wheel backing up but wasn't affecting the car in any way as far as I could tell. My headlights would also flicker at the same time so I figured it had to be something electrical. Yesterday while turning onto a different street and today while driving straight down a street I lost power steering.

4 Lose Power Steering problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 08/20/2017

I was driving home from the store and the "service power steering" light came on and I lost power steering. The stabilitrak light was also on. It was very difficult to steer the car home. I took the car to the dealer and they tell me they can't find anything wrong with the car. They are going to keep it another day to see if they can make the code come up, but if it doesn't then I get to drive a car that can crash because of power steering failure. This is extremely dangerous to have the steering go out while driving. Gm needs to find out why this is happening and fix it.

5 Lose Power Steering problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 05/15/2017

My wife had come back from a dr. Appt. Approx. 52 miles away from her place of employment on Monday 5/15/17 at approx. 1:15pm. As she approached her employment, she made a left turn on a side street that separates two auto dealerships, where employees park on the side of the street. She noticed an empty parking spot on the opposite side of the street and decided to make a u-turn to park there. As she slowed down to attempt the u-turn, she made a slight left to begin the u-turn and at that moment all the vehicle's warning lights on the dash lit up, the message center screen located at the center of the cluster on the dash read "stabilink system disabled" and had lost all power steering. Upon losing steering, the steering wheel snapped back and broke her wrist in two places. The loss of steering resulted in our vehicle slightly impacting the vehicle parked to her immediate right. I (her husband) arrived literally minutes after the loss occurred, triaged her arm and needed to move the vehicle out of the street. Upon entering the vehicle, it was still running and had noticed all the dash and vehicle warning lights on, including the "stabilink disabled" message on the dash. As I began to drive it approx. 20 yards to an empty parking space, the vehicle had no power steering yet it was running. Approx. 9 hours later, I had gone back to the vehicle to attempt to drive it to a local body shop to store it and upon starting the vehicle, all systems were running again, no warning lights were present on the dash and the power steering had been restored. I attempted to find any indication of a problem thru the message center without success. I filed an insurance claim on approx. 5/19, had the vehicle preserved for evidence and is now currently stored and not moved at the body shop. As of 6/15, injury sciences llc is scheduled to plug into the ecu or data event recorder.

6 Lose Power Steering problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 09/14/2016

Roughly 6 weeks after purchasing this vehicle, I started having incidents where the radio would cut out for 2-3 seconds and the infotainment screen would go blank. At the same time, the "service stabilitrak" message momentarily appears on the instrument panel. There isn't a trend to when this happens. Sometimes it won't happen for a week, other times it will happen multiple times in a single drive. Last week, this happened and I also lost power steering and could not steer for what felt like a couple seconds. Based on the Chevrolet Cruze customer forum, this is a fairly common problem and other's have also lost power steering pulling out of a parking lot. There is not a recall for my specific vehicle or a permanent corrective action that I've found. It has become a safety concern and gm should take responsibility and recall the affected vehicles before power steering is lost at higher speeds.

7 Lose Power Steering problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 02/05/2016

On several occasions my vehicle has lost power steering service. I have almost crashed into a metro rail and into another vehicle because I am unable to turn my wheel. On another occasion, I was about to park and the car turned off on me; the key was locked into the ignition and I couldn't turn it, the doors locked and nothing worked. I was stuck inside until after about 5 minutes, the car unlocked everything and the ecu turned back on. I've had to take it to the dealership twice for this problem and they have told me it's covered under a "special service" but these incidents happened almost a year apart. I do not believe the car is fixed. Also, the service stabilitrak and other lights flash on and off and so do my radio.

8 Lose Power Steering problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 10/17/2014

I was on my way home from work yesterday and when I went to make a right turn, the screen went out again. . . . Which is fine. We can all live without audio and a fancy screen in our cars, but as soon as the screen went out the power steering and stabilitrak lights both came on and my power steering completely went out in my car while I was turning. I almost hit a concrete wall and the cars that were waiting for their turn to go in the oncoming traffic lanes. It was bad enough that I had that issue but of course, there's more. We live on an army base - fort sill, in oklahoma - we have to stop at the gate to get on base and show our ids to get home. I stopped at the gate and talked with the guard for a minute, showed my id and went on with my business. . I started to drive away and my car went crazy again. I lost all power steering again and all of my lights flickered on and off for three minutes, inside lights and outside too. The car started jerking like it was trying to cut off, it finally stopped and I made it home but I refuse to drive this car again.  .

9 Lose Power Steering problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 07/30/2014

I bought this car for my daughter, the second or third week after she got it she started to notice the radio flickering on and off while driving for no reason, which eventually led to the radio flickering continuously after using blinkers &windows. "service stabilitrak" flashes on the display often but very quickly and goes off. Doesn't occur every time I drive, but it does it more times than not. Now the radio will flicker and I will occasionally lose cruise control and power steering. I also have no blinkers/radio when this happens. It usually only happens briefly and will return to normal soon after, but it continues to do it off and on until I park. I have also noticed this occurring when I shift gears to park. Most recently I went to start my car and it just clicked and wouldn't start. I got it to start and it said "service anti theft deterrent," then changed to "service power steering" just as I lost power steering while driving. "service stabilitrak quickly flashed next all while I lost blinkers, power steering, and radio. I parked, turned my car off and restarted it and it was just fine. It has been to the chevy dealer once but they could not get a code to read because they can't get the radio to flicker, etc because it only happens every so often but when it does happen it is scary! so there is nothing they can do to fix it. Please look into it as I do not feel it is safe for her to drive. This has been going on for 3 months now and I do not feel like this car is reliable which is the reason I bought it! there has to be something that can be done as I have read several complaints that are extremely similar to mine! I also have come to the conclusion that the problems are going to continue to worsen after reading the other complaints. It is a major problem. Please don't wait until something tragic happens before something is done about this! please!.

10 Lose Power Steering problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 07/20/2014

Bought the car used from a non-chevy dealer in June 2014. After about a month or so and 44000 mpg. All of a sudden, the time/temp/date display (along with the radio) started blacking out. Then a few times the "service power steering" warning light flashed on and off and we actually lost our power steering momentarily several times and today 07-20-2014 with me, my husband and 6yr old daughter in the car!!!! very scary. Then the "service stabilitrak" warning light flashed on and off as well. At the same time the time/temp/date blacks out again too. The car loses power when traveling at speeds over 50mph. All the warning lights have flickered on and off several times along with the power steering and stablitrak. This issue needs to be addressed. I will be contacting a dealer and legal action will be taken if issue isn't resovled. Peoples lives and safty are not something to be taken lightly.

Failure Date: 06/01/2014

I got my car in March & absolutely loved it! for the first few months I had no problems. Then I started to notice the radio flickering on and off while driving for no reason, which eventually led to the radio flickering continuously after using blinkers &windows. 12 Lose Power Steering problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 04/25/2014

The driver was traveling on a two lane highway in baldwin county, alabama, when she approached a right hand curve (which the driver was fully aware of). Driver applied brakes so as to slow down to negotiate this curve, but when the driver applied the brakes, they did not respond. Additionally, the vehicle appeared to lose power steering function. It appeared that the vehicle lost power, similar in nature to the most recent ignition defects on other gm vehicles. Due to loss of braking ability, the vehicle went straight off roadway and crashed causing significant personal injury to the driver. Further, the airbag did not deploy. We contacted gm, and agreed to allow gm representatives investigate the incident by downloading the esis information, with the agreement that gm would provide the owner with the results of said investigation in a readily understandable format. After downloading the information, gm denied any liability for the incident, and refused to provide the owner with the results of its investigation in a format that was readily understandable. The vehicle was recently purchased new, and had no prior issues.

13 Lose Power Steering problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 04/19/2014

On the first occurrence the lights on the radio display began to flicker and then all electrical power to the dashboard. The electrical came back on and the dash display depicted the warning message check stabilitrak. I took it to the dealership where I purchased the car and they said that high voltage codes c0800, 07 and high voltage history showed up on the scope and there were no issues. The second time the lights on the radio display began to flicker and then all electrical power to the dashboard, airbags and the electrically assisted power steering went out, while on a very steep mountain road and I had no control over the vehicle. The electrical came back on and the dash display depicted the warning message check stabilitrak. I took it to a different dealership and the dash flickering occurred with the service person in the car driving but nothing showed up when the mechanic was trying to fix it so they said there was nothing they could do. Two days later while my daughter was driving she lost power steering and the same issues with the dash and was involved in an accident, thank god her baby was not in the car. Please help!. . . . Updated 07/31/14.

14 Lose Power Steering problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 03/22/2014

I purchased a used chevy Cruze, previous rental, from the chevy dealer about a month ago. Within the past week I began to have intermittent electrical issues, which started with the radio panel light flashing on and off and the radio would also turn off for several mins at a time. Today the electrical problems progressed greatly, impacting the power stealing and I lost power steering completely while driving. In addition, multiple warning signals began to flash: power steering, stabilink, brakes and security traction control. This happened while driving, thankfully I was going at a very low speed otherwise this could have been a potential serious and dangerous situation as I briefly lost control of the car and almost crashed at 10mph (or less. ) thankfully I was already on my way to the dealer (1 miles away) for an appointment for servicing that I had previously scheduled due to this issue. Once I got to the dealer they were able to see the issues first hand. I turned off the car and then this car completely died. I left the car at the dealer and hope this issue is resolved and the car is safe to drive. Honesty, I am very nervous to drive the car in fear that the car is unsafe and these issues will continue.

15 Lose Power Steering problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 03/15/2014

Our 2012 chevy Cruze started with the radio turning "off" and "on" on its own the month after we bought the car. A month later it happened again as well as left my wife stranded at a store. Car didn't want to turn on. I figured it may have been a bad battery. Before I could even "jump" the vehicle, the car got all power back on with no problem. The 3rd time radio turned off and on on its own and then shut down completely with no power to vehicle at the same store near my wife's work. I noticed nothing electrical worked in the car, like hazard lights, brake lights, and anything that should have 12 volt constant power. I now carry a multimeter in the car. On a 400 mile drive on the highway I experience the radio issue as well as "stabilitrac", and many other malfunction lights displaying on and off on my dash while driving 75 mph. I even recorded this while driving. My family and I were on vacation and while driving I lost power steering then the car shut down and left us stranded with no power again. Wait about 10 to 15 minutes, the car will return back to normal like nothing happened. Took it straight to the dealer right at that moment and they couldn't duplicate the problems. Returned home from vacation and it all happened again in traffic while driving. My wife and kids were in the car. I called for a tow truck and towed it to the chevy dealership in town. I left it with them for 4 days and they still couldn't find anything wrong with the car. This car still continues to turn off to this day and ive only had the car for 6 month now. I won't let my family in this car. I have also experienced the door locks, lock and unlock on its own and the wipers activated on there own. Not sure whether it could be a bad ecu, bcm, electrical harness, fuse boxes. The ecu was reprogrammed at the 2000 miles for an unknown reason. Wish I had bought a different car instead of this lemon.
