2011 chevy Equinox battery fully discharaged. Car has 1300 miles on it. Car was in garage for two days before starting. Dealership recharged battery and doesn't seem to want to investigate this further, sales person does not return calls. Gm online customer service only sent auto reply without addressing the problem and on the reply named me as "frank", not my name at all. It took three tries to jump start the car.

I purchased a 2011 chev. Equinox on 1/14/2011 and the battery keeps going dead on me while it sits in my garage. This has happened twice now. It has 623 miles on it. I don't drive it every day but it seems to happen when I open the back hatch and close it. I make sure it is shut tight and also that no lights are left on. I reported it to the dealer I purchased it from and he said to take it to a chev. Dealer and have them check the battery and also run a perastatic draw test on it. The one dealer I called did not seem interested in doing this as he stated he had no openings except the following week. When I planned on taking it in the battery was again dead and I am now charging it up again. I really want to find out what is happening to it. I have a 2006 silverado and have had no problems with it. I also had a 2004 Buick lesabre that gave me the same problem as my Equinox. If they were not driven every day or so the batteries went dead. No dealer could find the problem with my Buick so I got rid of it. Also the Equinox seems to hesitate before it shifts into another gear.
Truck lost speed without warning while driving in traffic. Engine cuts off while driving. Truck can be working one minute and you park and come back and nothing it would start and have to be tow and this has happen to me three times in the last 5 months. The elec system always have something wrong with it. Running at 55 mph and a semi-tractor trailer behind you with your three small grand children in the back and the truck just lost it speed with no warning is a frightening thing to happening. I have replaced the battery, the started, and now the lower cooler fan is out the elec. System just keep breaking down back to back and I hardly even drive it only to doctor appointments and to do my shopping.

I have been driving since 1963 and this car has absolutely the worst problem with static electricity that I have ever seen. I thought at first it was just me, but at a company meeting (it is a company car) I discovered that everyone I spoke to that has an Equinox has the same problem. Even if the car isn't running and you have already been shocked, if you move around slightly in the seat you will get another shock the next time you touch something metal. The shock is sometimes so severe that at first I thought the battery had a short to ground.

Tuesday Feb 6th went to license branch in south bend in. Was inside for approximately an hour and a half. Walking to the Equinox, used the unlock button. Lights flashed, doors unlocked. Got inside vehicle and had no power. Vehicle would not turn over, doors would not lock or unlock. Absolutely no power. There were no lights that had come on in the vehicle to indicate a low battery or any other warning condition prior. I called ligonier dealership where I purchased vehicle and was told to call a local dealership. Gate Chevrolet of south bend came and got the vehicle started with a booster, but said they had no idea what would have caused it or what the problem was. Vehicle had 2177 miles on it. I drove home, pulled in the garage, turned the vehicle off, tried to restart and had no power to the vehicle at all. Not even enough to turn on the dome light when I opened the door.
