I've been to plenty of mechanic shops and they all have said the same thing about the motor and the engine that's in these cars they say they are not the right engines and everyone that have these cars have the same problem I have gotten everything fixed and my engine is going bad. I've been told there is a recall for my engine & or motor. For the last few weeks my check engine light gave been on then out the blue my stabilitrak comes on no one could figure it out I took it to gm they didn't find anything besides spark plugs, oil change ,fuel flush & engine top cleaner now they saying after the sparkplugs got done it cleared that code but now my engine is bad. I get oil changed every month. Which means it's getting to much oil.

Vehicle has 55000 miles and check engine light is on. In scanning the car I was told that p0010 the intake positions actuator circuit and p0013 exhaust camshaft position actuator circuit needed to be serviced to the tune of between 1200. 00 and 1500. 00 dollars which is normal for these cars I. Think this is bs I have oil changed every 2000 miles or 3 months with castrol dexos 5w30 and lucas oil stabilizer. Sounds like this should be covered by yhe manufacturer.
My check engine light came on so I took it in to get assessed. With less than 90,000 miles, this vehicle requires a new engine. It consumes a lot of oil and has been since I bought it one year ago, me having to add oil every 2 weeks. Also, the timing chain needs replacement-which is still only a temporary fix. Every mechanic I have spoken to says this year, make and model has been having to replace the engine. And there is no recall.

My vehicle had a oil change at 86,000 miles. I hit 90,722 miles . The vehicle was running fine and when I got off work and tried to start the car it started but then shut off. I had no check engine lights, no low oil light and had a perfect diagnostics report on my onstar, I had to get the vehicle towed to a dealer per on star, after speaking to the dealer I was informed the motor blew up because it jumped time and dumped oil. I was also told this is a common problem with this motor but gm is refusing to fix it because the warranty just went up 6 months ago . I have been told by several shops chevy knows about this time chain or jumping time issue and in most cases a new motor is required. I would like to understand why no warning lights came on and how oil could dump after having a oil change 3,000 miles give or take ? and why chevy is passing the problem onto the customer.

Rear main seal blew due to a faulty pvc valve, and warranty will not cover repairs. Say it is because it is a know factor with gm and they will not recall. I had just started my vehicle to drive to work when check engine light came on. It died right after the light came on and would not start back up.
As I was driving on the expressway I experienced my vehicle losing engine power. The indicator showed that there was an issue with oil pressure. I have since been informed that the engine has blown. I recently had a parts recall and took it in,within a day my check engine light came on. I went back to the dealership to let them know and was treated with confrontation. Now I have no car and still paying on the loan.
2013 Chevrolet Equinox. Check engine light illuminated. Code p0014 code definition camshaft position b - timing over-advanced or system performance (bank 1) replaced both intake and exhaust vvt. Vehicle is losing about a quart of oil every 1000 miles. Took to dealer. Did a diagnostic. Old code found, no new "problems" found. Was told running normal. It died 2 times on the way home. This caused my vehicle to stall while attempting to take off at a green light, almost causing a rear end accident two times. Fortunately, I didn't need to break or I would have probably hit another vehicle. After reading other reviews, this appears to be a continuation of a 2011 problem with the Equinox. We were in the process of looking at a chevy tahoe, but with chevy's history it appears we'll look at a different brand.

When vehicle is up to normal operating temperature engine stalls when trying to go forward or reverse from a stopped position. This is a dangerous vehicle it stall at intersections and at stop lights when accelerating. No check engine light but scan tool indicates intake timing advanced but cam shaft actuator is good.
Check enginge light keeps coming on. Code says dealer specific, went to go to dealer, light went off. Two weeks later, light comes back on for a few days, goes back off. Had the diesel system cleaned by dealer, light still comes on and off. Car has 42k miles, expertly maintained. Dealer wants $135 to diagnose the problem that their own documents say there is no solution for. On star diagnoses found nothing wrong with the vehicle and didn't even show the check engine light as being on. Similar reports from others online involving the 1. 6l diesel. No performance issues with the light on, but Chevrolet should be able to fix the issue - even if the car is out of warranty. A two year old car shouldn't be having random check engine light issues.

Check engine light came on and the reading is saying that I have a problem with the cam shaft. Vehicle has 60,000 miles on it and exceptional upkeep has been made. This is absolutely ridiculous I will never buy a gm vehicle again because your customer services is repulsive. I am a single person on one income I thought that I had a reliable vehicle but I see now that I dont.
Car cut off while driving saying reduced engine power and service syabili track check engine light on.

Check engine light comes on,checked it out it says evap system code,is this a common problem or is it a recall I erased code and replace gas cap, still check engine light came back on.
Check engine light on. Kills when put in reverse. Hard to accelerate. Oil was changed two weeks ago but that did not help. Found code p0010 for the intake camshaft solenoid performance. Tested the intake solenoid and it had 1. 4k ohms. Should be between 8-13ohms. Replaced the intake and exhaust camshaft actuator solenoids.

With not quite 63,000 miles the check engine light keeps coming in and I get alerts from on-star. My mechanic looked it up and an occurring problem with this yr. Its a valve that sends oil to the dual cams. . . It had no power and was using way more has and oil than usual. . . This is the 4th time in a month it has been looked at. . . It also seems to have the lurching tranny problem ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.
The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving at 20 mph, the timing chain failed and the transmission failed, causing the vehicle to no exceed 20 mph with the check engine warning light illuminated. Additionally, the transmission failed to shift into reverse. An independent mechanic was contacted and the contact was informed that the transmission and timing chain needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000.
Windshield wipers not working and check engine light on . I repair the windshield wipers I requesting my money be refunded.
Check engine light came on got a notification from onstar stating that engine and transmission system issue has been detected. Also when I shut down my vehicle and restarted it the starter keep making this sound like it wanted to start and did not then did. Then I got a message on the dash saying that something was wrong with power steering.
My vehicle had turned off while driving it sputtered a bit the shut off. . I started it back up then I drove home and took it to the dealership the following day. No check engine lights or anything ever popped up to giving any warning. Dealership said it was a solenoid idk if I spelled that right. I hope its the problem.
My car runs rough and shuts off when slowing down or stopping at stop signs and red lights. My car has 112,000 miles and warranty ran out at 100,000. Check engine light code is p0010. This seems to be a very big problem for the Equinox and there are no recalls. The older models have recalls for the same issue. I feel this is a very dangerous issue that cheverlet should take responsibility for.
While driving my car stopped in the middle of the the intersection I turned car off and back on. Made it home and check engine light comes on. Since I bought my car my car rattles and more so when in reverse.
Having to add oil between oil changes, check engine light came on and had it checked. Per code low oil and can only be reset after an oil change. Brought it to the dealer and got the oil changed and a few days later the dealer called stating I need to get new piston rings because of a recall on the vehicle or I will lose oil. The dealer stated the gm will go 50/50 with me on the fix since the recall expired. I did not get a recall notice or have the 50% of the cost to fix the vehicle, I am the 2nd owner.
My vehicles check engine light came on then the stability light came on the vehicle sounded like it was choking. When we got it to the repair shop it stalled out and when the shop did shove investigation there was no oil in the vehicle. Although there was no warning about oil being low or lights on. As we were bringing vehicle to shop it smelled of burning. Vehicle started malfunctioning when stationary and became worse when in motion.
Driving on a road at 50mph the engine lost power slowed down and both the check engine light and stabiltrack light came message saidstabiltrac needs service. I had engine work done just two weeks ago.
Twice in 3 yrs this car has been in the shop for a major engine issue with water getting in the valves this was detected when the check engine light came and the car is the shop for over a week each time.
Vehicle was in motion approximately 45 mph when check engine light came on, message then appeared that engine power is reduced and speed immediately dropped to around 15 mph and then to a rough idle at approx 5-10mph. Was almost rear ended by vehicle traveling behind me. I was able to limp remaining 2 miles home and contacted dealer. Appointment was made and dealer reported code p2135 and replaced throttle body. . Dealer said throttle didn't know up from down. Dealer stated this is a common problem with the Equinox. I have read many complaints online about this same issue with other owners reporting being put in a dangerous position with the sudden drop in speed like we were. I contacted chevy gm and they said there were no recalls. If rapid acceleration has been treated by other companies as recall worthy, I dont understand why chevy does not consider this recall worthy. I have attached the repair report with this complaint.
Just finshed my second year into my 3 year 2018 chevy Equinox lease and for the last month or so the service brake assist has appeared and dissapeared dozens of times when starting the vehicle and while driving as well as the check engine light has come on and off for the last few weeks. Orginally mad an appointment but the dealer ship canclled it and then my car suddenly had reduced power the died in the middle of the road as I was driving on the road. Not a highway. Got it towed to the dealer and the say a vacum pump seized? now are saying there is metal in the engine amd they dont know why. Trying to get me to pay for cost. Have taken car of vehchile and done the required matinence. This should not be happening on a 2 year old car with on 32000 miles. Very concerned there is something defected with the car. As numerous vehicles have been recalled for similar issues to mine by gm.
Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving at low speeds the brake pedal was applied however, the vehicle stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. Who stated that the fuel pump, cam shaft, battery needed to be replaced. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 80,000. The VIN was not available. Ap.
I just recently bought a 2011 chevy Equinox lt awd, and soon after I began driving it, the check engine light came on with code p0420 catalyst system efficiency below threshold. Chevy had issued special coverage adjustment 15810 in August 2016 with regard to the catalyst system, but the mileage was over the coverage limit of 120,000 when the sca was issued, and chevy won't cover the issue now.
Car started shaking and no check engine or oil light was ever displayed. I got to work and asked my friend to check my oil. He checked the oil and he said he doesn?t even know how I made it to work because my car has no oil in it. My car says I still have time to get my oil changed. I noticed my car was acting up for the last week or so. My car is currently sitting in my work parking lot and I need to have some to take me to get oil and then drop off at mechanic.
For a few days my car was running rough then while driving down the road about 45 mph it suddenly lost power and really began running rough. There were no warning lights, nothing. I pulled over and turned the car off and then turned it back on. It still was running rough. At this point the check engine light came on and a message popped saying the engine was running at reduced power. I drove 1/2 mile at ~ 15 mph to drop my daughter at school. At that point the car totally died. When it was taken to the shop it was found to have no oil. There was no indication that my car was out of oil or running low on oil and it probably had about 3500 miles since last oil change. My engine was ruined and now I have to purchase another motor! not happy as the car had about ~100k miles and that's low to me. And apparently there are issues with these engines so I am probably just paying to put another bad engine in!.
The vehicle stalls upon going a slow rate of speed as when backing out of a driveway, driving in a parking lot, or stopping and trying to perform a turn on a city street. It can also stall on the interstate if you idle while slowed due to traffic stops. You have to turn the car off and restart the vehicle. It stalls about 3-4 times a trip. Several times a day. The check engine light is on.
