Dashboard Failed Problems of Chevrolet Equinox

I had my Equinox repaired under the recall for oil consumption, yet it is still burning oil. The heat and ac are not working properly, to get heat I have to turn the dial back and forth and maybe it will work most of the time I have to drive about a half a mile for it to blow heat. The ac is just not working at all. The info panel in the center of the dash will go out and come back on later. While driving, the car will just slow down like I'm not pressing the accelerator at all. The transmission seems to get stuck in a gear causing the rpms to rise and stay until I take my foot off of the accelerator. The car makes a clicking sound when turning. It shakes at 60 mph. Also I have replaced headlights 2 times in the last year.

When I have a passenger in the seat the airbag never comes on and the airbag light stays on and tells me it needs service. Also all my gauges are all out of wack not sure if it is a recall or not once I hit 100,000 miles all these things came about. Also there was a recall on the fuel system and at the time I did not have a problem as of yet, on 9/29/15 I then smelled the gas and called mk smith Chevrolet to see if there were any recalls on this and they told me no, so I did take it somewhere else to be fixed due to it being cheaper for me and got it fixed and paid $633. 60. I have document for that. Now my key in the ignition does not come out and I hear a clicking noise by the ignition I'm not sure if that as well is a recall on the Equinox 2007. Please let me know if any of these problems are recalls on my vehicle. I just have read all these other complaints on the same issues on the Equinox 2007.

After pulling out of parking space/turned radio on. The whole dashboard went out and came back on several times. Later that evening when I got in car key would not release. After several tries car started and as I started to drive dashboard and radio blinked on and off. Heard a loud noise as I was driving. Lights and radio came back on and proceeded to blink. Car making noise off and on.

Less than 4,000 miles driven after I purchased this vehicle the transmission needed to be replaced as it would not shift out of 2nd gear. The heater core also exploded on the way to the dealership to assess the transmission issues. Around 20-25,000 miles after purchase the engine coolant temp gauge stopped reporting temperatures correctly and would redline even if the car was off for over 2 days it would start up way above the normal operating temperature. The fuel guage no longer correctly indicates how much gas is left in the tank and will not move off of empty even after pumping 13 gallons into the tank. Vehicle was stationary at a red light when heater core blew out. Vehicle was being driven during transmission, temperature, and gas gauge failures.

Problems with my veh. Covers a long period and has worsen over time, first the (tpms) tire pressure monitoring system went bad, then the temperature gauge went out of serv. , then the air bag sensor on front pass. Side worked when it wanted. Now the front pass door does not lock or unlock unless manually, now the driver window does not operate up or down, and till now only once the car keys were stuck in the ignition. Have checked with gm recall list that seem to have some of the problems I have but my 2008 Equinox is not on it. This electrical malfunction can only get worse. What's next to go.

Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving at different speeds, an odor of burning fuse was perceived in the vehicle. The lights on the dashboard went out. The radio signal was lost. The vehicle shut down and was restarted. The failure. Recurred. The vehicle was taken to the gray-daniels Chevrolet dealer (601-863-8466, located at 6080, I-55, jackson, ms 39211) where the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the same dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000. Fe.

No heat coming in the SUV to defrost windows or to warm up the inside. Total repair will be $800. 00 for a $30. 00 part. Plastic plate that controls the air and heat is defective. Appartently the part after sometime get weak from heat and cold conditions. Only way to fix is to tear complete dash board out to reach blower assembly, replace vent door and reassemble the entire dash board.

Purchase vehicle in August 2009. Instrument panel faulty within months of purchase. Windshield defroster/defogger & lights on dash go out intermittently. Received a recall notice concerning this issue in April 2010. Problem is still occurring. Have been back to dealership at least a dozen times. Have been in contact with general motors in detroit. Dealership nor general motors are returning our calls or fixing the problem. Only 17546 miles are on this vehicle. Lights and defroster go out intermittently while driving causing us to be very insecure to take it anywhere for fear it will happen while we are out.
