I have owned a 2006 chevy Equinox since 2008. We recently noticed a swooshing fluid noise coming from the dash. When the car idles the temp light gauge comes on and the needle goes to hot. Took it to bill jacobs Chevrolet in joliet illinois today and the advised it has a leaky head gasket with a minimum cost to repair of $1500. After researching this on the internet, there have been numerous complaints from consumers with the same exact problem directed to gm and they have done nothing. Many mechanics have said it is a design flaw and gm should be doing a recall.

With only 36,212 miles on this vehicle, there is now a rear head gasket leaking. Now, as a senior citizen with a fixed income, I need to pay for this repair. It seems to me with this low mileage an engine should last longer!! poor workmanship!!!! I sincerely hope this information is shared with the manufacturer.

Took my Equinox in for an oil change. Then comes the bad news. Lower intake valve gaskets leaking. What!! only 50000 miles on vehicle this should not be happening. $725. 00 later it is fixed. I have ready many complaints about gm knowing these were defective gaskets and something should be done about this.
I have a leaking head gasket, I bought this Equinox 6 months ago and its 1,200. 00 to fix it at the dealer ship. I just paid 306. 00 to replace the motor in the driver's side window. Front end makes lots of noises.
