My husband was injured in an accident on 9-29-2015. What happened was my husband was stopped on the interstate and a truck slammed into my husband. He said his car turned off as soon as the first impact, airbags did not deploy. There was a second impact from the same truck, which was on my husbands passenger side. The car is completely totaled. My husband was lucky to walk away from this accident. The Hhr was recalled for the ignition switch last year and we had the new part installed 2/2015 when the dealership received the parts. We have two issues electrical, why did his car turn off when it was hit from the rear? did the impact knock the ignition switch out of place? also why didn't the airbags deploy? now I know if the car is off the airbags are off but why did the car go from on to completely off unless it was a faulty new part that we received in our car.

Airbag sensor light to have airbag service has been on for sometime. The service department has been asked about this on multiple occasions. The last answer we received is that the airbag is only under warranty for two years but previous to this we were told that the service department does not even know what this means. My service department at gadsden Chevrolet has not even fixed the switch recall yet. They were supposed to call when they got the part in. Even though my husband has called multiple times they still have not called. There is another issue for which they have offered for us to just pay half and they know they are suppose to fix them both at the same time. My car has been in the shop multiple times and yet they still never fixed the previous recall & now this airbag thing has come up.

Service air bag- this message comes up a lot when car is started. It is coming up more often now though. This vehicle has not been in an accident. I have seen on line that other gm vehicles are being recalled for this problem. Talked to my chevy deaer about this and he said that there is no recall and it is our issue. Our Hhr has been recalled for ignition switch and a power steering issue so far. I feel that the service air bag light is just another gm problem. With this warning light on, I do not know if our air bags will deploy. Are our lives in jeopardy?.
No accident has occurred; I would like to know why it takes so long to remedy the recall(s) on my vehicle; the first notice was received dated April 2014 from gm regarding the ignition switch. The next recall letter was received on may 11, 2014 and I immediately called my local gm (cecil clarke Chevrolet) in leesburg, florida to be put on the 'list' for the required parts/replacements. On June 17th, I called cecil clark again and was advised that although they were receiving 4 - 5 replacement kits a day, mine had not come in yet. Now I have a safety recall for June reference the eps and that parts are not currently available. I have done what I need to do, I drive only when I have to now, and although I follow the safety rules reference removing all items from the ignition key, I do not feel safe while driving anymore. Please can you find out why it takes so long to get parts for a very safety related issue. I thank you in advance.

In June of 2014 my cars ignition turned off as a result I almost impacted with another vehicle. Also after this my temp guage no longer worked. Took it to bill holt Chevrolet where they replaced my ignition switch after I got it back my drivers door will not lock or unlock consistently not even with the key, my service airbag and power steering lights keep coming on, and now radio and instrument panel lights go off. I have to stop turn the car off and restart they might come back on and they might not. I am reluctant to take the car back to bill holt Chevrolet as they kept the car for 3 and a half months to repair the ignition. Also I can get no satisfaction out of them when I picked up the car the last time my temp gauage still wasnt working they said it had nothing to do with the recall. I am reluctant to drive for any distance as the power steering fails often. I have contacted gm on several occasions and can get no satisfaction from them either. Are they not goverened by an agency that makes sure these repairs are done and done correctly. Please email me who I need to contact to get these issues resolved. Carterbrenda53@yahoo. Com.

Greetings NHTSA, I am writing to document some things about our 2010 Chevrolet Hhr. Yes, it was part of the recall, but I need for you to be inform of some things, that I pray can help someone else: 1. Power issues: the power would act so crazy that we never knew when it was going to shut off. Exp. This past winter, the blower motor would blow cold air, while it was freezing outside! or it would not work at all, then, the blower heater would come on, just by turning the ignition on. . And it would blow hot air. And it would not turn off, unless the key was out of the ignition. The dash would get very hot, showing a potential for a fire. Apparently, each time a fuse had blown out. We would replace it and in three weeks it would go out again. Something electrical must of been going on. There was also, power steering concerns. 2. We took it in to serra Chevrolet in southfield, michigan to have the ignition switch replace. We were given a rental, and it took over three weeks for the part to arrive. We were hoping that the ignition switch was causing the problem and that it would go away, once replaced. 3. On June 4th, 2014-the parts came in. . 4. On Thursday, June 5th, 2014, the new ignition switch was replaced. The next day, June 6th, 2014, the blower motor went crazy again, and the airbag warning light came on. ( with all of the issues with the car, the airbag light never came on until the new ignition switch was installed. 5. Afraid of an airbag disaster today, June 9th, 2014, my husband took the car back to serra Chevrolet in southfield, michigan. They are so backed up, with cars. They cannot even look at it until tomorrow. My husband was dropped off, no rental no loaner! and now we are without a car, thank you. And "be blessed" pastor deborah satterwhite c/o edwin satterwhite-consumers-2010 Chevrolet Hhr owner.

August of 2010 1st indication of a problem with the airbag occurred. Chevrolet dealer repaired under warranty. 2nd incident occurred in earlier 2013 when service airbag light came on. This service airbag would stay on for a day or two, then go out. Several months later it would come on again, then go out. In may of this year the service airbag light came and stayed on. On June 2nd of the year, 2014, I took it to the Chevrolet dealer. They advised the airbag "shorted" and would have to be replaced @ $1200. 00+. I purchased this vehicle new, and have had at least 3 electrical problems under warranty. Due to the electrical problems, ignition switch, battery failure I feel this lead to the failure of the airbag.
