I have contacted my local chevy dealer, because my air bag light has been on. I asked about a recall there told me there hasnt been one. Now I am clearly seeing that there was a recall. My light has been on about a year now and I would like it to be serviced.

My air bag service light comes on and my power steering dont work while this air bag service light is on. My heat dont work either while my air bag service light is on. I can drive it for awhile and when my air bag light goes off my power steering starts to work and my heat does too.

The service air bag light kept appearing. It would be on for a few days, then go off and the check engine light would appear. The light designating seat belt use for the passenger would not issue a warning sound and sometimes would not come on even if someone was sitting in the passenger seat. I was driving to an appointment, when my power steering flashed on the dash screen and my steering wheel went from fluid to stiff. I pulled over to the side of the road as soon as it happened and turned off the car. When I turned it back on, the steering was fluid again, but the air bag light had came on as well as the abs and traction. The steering wheel was fluid only for a few minuets, and then after making a few turns, I lost the steering once again. I have learned of a recall on the Hhr's power steering and starter. I will go to the dealer and ask them what they can do. I am filing this so it is noted in the records of the happenings.

While driving on smooth paved suburban roadway the service air bag light(s) illuminated on the console in front of the driver. Later that day the light(s) went out. I was pulling out of a parking space at wal mart and a beeping sound got my attention and then I realized the steering wheel was almost impossible to turn. . I stopped in the middle of the lane and turned the car off. . . We sat there for about 15 seconds and I started the car again and the steering was fine then. . We then drove about a half mile to the dollar tree and it happened again as I was pulling into a parking space. . I parked and we went in the store. . When I came back out it was working again. . . Then today, sept. 15, 2014, I pulled into the library and as soon as I started to turn into a parking space, the steering wouldn't work and the beeping sound started and the power steering light was on again. . . . I turned it off right there and waited a few seconds and it was again working. . . We don't trust taking this car anywhere and had planned an extended trip to washington to stay with our granddaughter but we just don't dare do it. . . This is such a huge safety issue and we want it fixed!!!!! also, the service air bag light has been on for almost the entire time we have owned the car. . I have all the reciepts of taking it in to be checked and the charges we have incurred. . . It has been on the last time for over a month as we had just had it in again . . The light went off for about 20 miles after we left the dealership and then came on and has been on ever since. . . This whole thing has been ridiculous!!!!!! who can help us?????.

They need to give rental cars untilthey get the parts in this would insure our safty and speed up the process that they say they are vmaking the parts as fast as possible . That's just not exceptable. Fix our cars right now I am not ready to die in gm junk. My air bag light came on says it needs serice well fix it gm. I cant worrie all the time the stress is to much.

I purchased this car in August 2009( special auto program) and had to return in August 2009 for the drivers airbag light kept flashing on and off. The repaired was done (necessary to replace & program pass presence module ) at that time. I started having this same issue this year and brought it back for service again 6/20/14. Paid $315. 00 to be repaired and picked it up today and the flashing light is still on. My concern is this may also be a factory defect also that has not been detected. I am feeling a little uncomfortable with the airbag being repaired and still doing the same thing. I am a senior and I travel always with a 33 year old totally disabled child. If my airbag is not working correctly , you would have two people impacted by this. Now I was told to bring it back but as isaid I am not feeling to good about the job really being done. As a consumer what can I do other then have this on file with your off?.

My Chevrolet 2009 Hhr airbag light comes on when the car has been sitting in the sun for a few hours on a hot day. Once the car cool off the light goes off, or if it is before the sun come up there is no problem. I reported this to my Chevrolet dealer and they pretended like this issue was foreign to them, but as I search the internet I see this issue reported by more owners than I can count. There is an issue going on and this need to be corrected in a recall.

I was driving my Hhr about 35 miles an hour. The dash display said check airbag and the red airbag indicator light came on. It stayed on for about 2 minutes. The next morning after I started the Hhr , the airbad display and the red indicator light stayed on.

Service airbag lights keeps coming on. Took it to get looked at today. The passenger airbag was bad. It is going to cost $1200 to get new airbag installed. I did some research and found that this is a common problem the 09 Hhr. It is not under warranty. Contacted chevy with no response. The car was never in an accident or even bumped by anything for a airbag to go bad.

My husband and I purchased a vehicle from a chevy dealership and within a couple of months the driver side door stopped opening from the inside. Therefore we have to open the door from the outside to get out or crawl to the passenger door to get out. This is a safety hazard for anyone who gets in a car accident, or anyone having a car issue. I have talked to many people I know who have the same car and they have the same problem. I would get it fixed but we don't have the money. My husband would fix it but then it would void my warranty. Also had my car brought for ignition recall got it fixed and told them about my air bag light coming on and off. This is also a major problem and needs to get fixed, I have 3 children and they wont tell me which one is faulty if any. As well no money to fix it. $100 deductable every time to just check is not very reasonable.
