I had this repaired once before and now it is doing it again. The stability and traction light are on and access brake system lights and tpms lights are on. It makes a grinding crunching dragging noise when turn the wheel. Sometimes so bad on the drag like its rubbing against something it almost stops the vehicle. As far as safety risks yes the dragging crunching sound stops the vehicle and if turning it sort of stalls you, no traction or stability. The warning lights reappeared about a month ago. Pep boys couldn't get the tpms system to work after replacing tires back in 2020 in Feb.

The service stabilitrak/abs/brake control lights turn on and off incessantly regardless of whether I'm moving, turning, breaking, etc. It's seemingly completely random. Every ime they do, the car dings, making the ride unbearable ("ding, ding, ding. . . Ding, ding, ding" ad naseum). This happened before and I had the vehicle serviced under warranty, a little over 1. 5 years ago. It's now happening again. Countless reports on forums indicate that it's a very common issue with the wiring harness going to the hub assembly. Gm should recall this. It's distracting, unsafe, and seemingly unfixable in the long term. This will be the second time I've fixed this in less than 50,000 miles driven.

The electronic stability control system is constantly on even when my car is stationary my antilock brake system light is also always on. Some times I lose power when I start to drive. I had it checked and had the sensor replaced ,but the problems were not solved.

While engine running and vehicle is stationary and/or in motion the brake lights flash intermittently. Brakes do not engage, but it does cause cruise control to disengage. Saw a recall for this, but my VIN not included.
It has a few different problems. The first being a trunk seal that was already recalled, yet my “fixed” seal wasn’t even fixed and my trunk is still taking on water when it rains. The other problem started a week ago. My abs light came on while driving and the traction control light and neither will go off. Today while driving my car felt like it was losing power all of a sudden and a dinger went off and the brake assist light came on as well as 2 parking break lights. Both times the lights come on I was driving. None of the lights will go off, and now it’s dinging for a minute or more just because of the warning light.
While driving and usually making hard turn and braking the service stabilitrak, traction control, brake assist messages appear all at the same time and the abs light turned on. Had diagnostics checked on it and found code for front right wheel bearing and possible abs sensor. Had the wheel bearing and hub assembly replaced by professional auto repair shop. Drove home and as returning home, made left turn and braked and felt the brakes slightly lock up. Hit gas and all lights and messages reappeared. Serviced at 87,000 miles.
When coming to a stop my abs service stability traction control service brake lights all come on then my 2011 hesitation to stop when braking. Even if I go slow or just stopping at a stop sign. It pushes my foot from the brake. A cranking noise sound. I have gotten brake, tire rods, roaders and new tires. I don't know what else to do. This happens specifically when on the highway when having to come to a sudden stop. I almost crashed several times not being able to stop. Mind you my car only has 65000 miles on it. This is just too soon.

Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet malibu . The contact stated that he observed in his rear view mirror his brake lights failed to illuminate while being depressed. The contact then stated that his brake lights would illuminate with out the brake being depressed. The failure is persistent. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that brake sensor needed to be replaced but not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000. Ec.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph, the brake warning light illuminated. In addition, the vehicle skid to a stop and the engine stalled. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the e-brake needed to be replaced and the electronic parking brake software needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 14v541000 (parking brake). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 11,000. The VIN was not available.
The parking brake will not disengage the rear brakes after pressing the electronic parking brake button. The red parking brake light on the dash goes out but the rear brakes are still engaged. The driver will be unaware that the problem exists until smoke begins rolling out of the rear wheels. This is a safety hazard that should be investigated by NHTSA due to the number of similar complaints already reported.
I was approaching a red light where a flat bed truck was stopped and I went to stop behind him. At first the car started to slow when I pressed the brake and then as if I took my foot off the pedal the car stopped stopping and crashed into the back of the tow truck. This was not the first time nor the last time this happened but it was the worst time and I am afraid to drive the car now. I see the number of posts on the internet, hundreds of forums, complaining about the wobbling or vibration that occurs upon breaking. The breaks were changed when I purchased the car in February and it didn't take long for the symptoms to appear until finally I crashed the car. The abs nor brake light come on. It seems that while gm was going broke in 2004 through 2007 they decided cheaper parts were a viable solution to their obvious brink of bankruptcy. And yet when we the american tax payers paid $49. 5 million dollars to bail gm out of debt in December of 2008 they never even considered recalling the vehicles with the unsafe braking systems on them. Ironically the police cars made by gm have an entirely different system, a safer system was installed. Sadly? as long as they still owe the federal government $49. 5 million, the federal government will not force gm to recall these cars with the unsafe braking systems because it will force them into another bankruptcy. Gm is now solidly profitable, its cars have improved, and it has created 23,000 new u. S. Jobs since exiting bankruptcy in 2009 why aren't they correcting their wrongs and why aren't they paying back the $49. 5 million they owe us? when you google 2007 (or any year between 2006 - 2008) Impala lt brake problems it's alarming to see the hundreds of thousands of forums and complaints about the same exact issue.

My traction control, abs and service brake assit light continue to come on despite the fact that I have had the sensors replaced 3 times now. I will hear a growling noise when I put on the brakes or get a foul smell when I turn on the defrost, also when I get that smell the defrost doesn't work properly then later the abs, traction control and brake assist light will come on. I have had a chevy dealer and the dealer I bought the car from check the problem and say its fixed 3 times but the problem continues.

While driving at 60 mph the cars service traction control light comes on and so does the abs brake service light. The car then reduces power to no more then 35-40 mph and that's with the gas pedal floored. It has happened since new. I have changed out the harness, and wheel hub and it still happens, sometimes in very dangerous situations like while driving on a hwy with a truck behind you and the car goes from 60 mph to 40 mph in a heart beat. The dealership said its a common electrical problem with gm cars in 2006-2009. The only part left to change would be the computer modulator, however talking to other gm owners with the same problem it doesn't seem to help.

I have a 2002 Chevrolet Impala with the abs/traction control warning lamp on problem. This problem can be intermittent. The car has approximately 98,764 miles on it. The problem was first noticed at about 89000 miles. There is an assorted amount of symptoms that go along with this issue. This problem is dangerous and could possibly result in an accident. Here are the symptoms you may experience you may have one or more of the following symptoms: 1. After start up (without the brake pedal depressed) the abs/traction lamp may or may not come on. This is temperature dependent cold start or hot restart (it seems to occur more frequently at the both extremes). 2. The abs brakes may cycle on just during normal braking. This may cause the vehicle to unexpectedly pull to the right. 3. The abs brakes may cycle on while making a slow right hand turn with the brakes applied lightly. 4. The abs brakes may cycle on when traveling on a straight roadway at about 40 mph and then coming to a slow stop with the brake pedal lightly applied. 5. The abs/traction control lamp may come on while traveling in light and heavy rain. This may also occur after running the car though an automatic car wash. It should be noted that you may hear the abs pump motor cycle a number of times (usually 3) before the indicator lamps come on. Technical information: the following failure codes may be stored in the ebcm see below: c1216 electronic brake control module commanded pressure release is to long. C1221 lf wheel speed sensor input signal is 0. C1222 rf wheel speed sensor input signal is 0. C1223 lr wheel speed sensor input signal is 0. C1224 right rear wheel speed sensor input signal = 0. C1225 left front excessive wheel speed sensor variation. C1226 right front excessive wheel speed sensor variation. C1232 left front wheel speed sensor circuit is open or shorted. C1233 right front wheel speed sensor circuit is open or shorted.

On 7-24-01 called the dealer to find out if I have abs braking system on my car ,they told me I did so I told them that the abs warning light doesn't come on when you turn the ign. On like the owners manual saids. They told me that as long as the brake light comes its ok. So I complained to the chev. Customer service reps. About this and the answer I got was the system is okay , and the reason the abs light doesn't come on is because in the begining of this model year abs was free, and in the second half it costed 620. 00 dollars, what are they saying???? in the owners manual it states that ever the light comes on and the system is okay or it doesn't and to get looked at soon.
