4 Power Train problem of the 2020 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 03/31/2025

I purchased this vehicle in a chevy dealership in palatine, IL. [xxx]. 50k miles a chevy Impala around 38k total with taxes and all. A month later I had to pay 200 for a diagnostic at the dealership to check an issue with the steering. They said nothing was wrong with it and it was just the floor mat making contact in the floor. When I returned home, I had the same issue occur again. I retook it and they wanted another 200 dollars. I complained to the seller of this vehicle, and he agreed to waive these 200 dollars. When it was rechecked, it was found out that it actually had to replace the wheel barring's on the front. It was around a 2,000$ job I have the receipts, and I actually didn't pay for anything at the time due to warranty. I also have been up to date with transmission oil, engine oil, fuel injectors, etc to keep the car running smooth. As of 01/2025 I started having issues with the transmission, the gears were very jumpy and very unsafe to drive. I called the dealership and I was told the warranty had a expire a month before. I had to call the bank to find out this telephone number since the dealership never responded back. The number I was looking for was the warranty which my contract that was given from the dealership coincidence didnt have it. I had to reach to the bank and ask for a new contract. I called them and was denied due to the time that has past and was out of luck. I took it to a mechanic for a transmission rebuilt and cost me 3,000 which im still paying off right now. It was repair around [xxx]. Now I have an issue with the power steering. I also have a check engine light now. I am in the process of taking it to the transmission job to look at it but most likely wont get fix. I now have to invest around another 1,500+ for these new jobs. I dont have that much now and its costing me a lot of headaches pain money and time and many more things. Gm wont do anything about it and I still have to pay550 a month for this vehicle. Idk. 20 Power Train problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 07/13/2023

Fourth time I had submitted this text so this one will be vague. I've had to repair my stuts and shocks and brakes to my vehicle due to ongoing issues with tires while divingand hitting small speesbumps and potholes. I did replace low performance tires and still was an issue with my struts and shocks when I drive causing me to hit a bump or a small hole and diverts me to the next lane of ongoing traffic also I had to my battery replaced twice. To find out that it was only due to corrosion and the battery cables slipping was frustrating cause I did replace the battery and key fob battery already. Car wouldn't start and when it did it took forever hours to restart and engine still seems to get bogged down in ongoing traffic. Which was the prior issue no power no matter how hard I press the gas. I took to autozone and they did a reading which came back that everything was okay including the battery which was obviously not okay. It was leaking fluid and I have already replaced year and half ago due to same issue. They cables seem to slip over time on its own. What to do? thank you for your time to look into this issue. Kindest regards.

24 Power Train problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 04/28/2023

While driving or idling (car in d/m, both automatic and manual), the car will rapidly shift to park and then back to where the shifter was set, usually in a lower gear that slows the car down or prevents acceleration. The transmission or speed sensor could be an issue. This can happen in rapid succession 3-5+ times in a row, which has led to a drop in speed from 65 mph to 40 mph, especially dangerous at faster speeds on a highway or when deceleration is occurring more quickly, like going up a steep hill. I am unsure what indication there is for cars that are behind me, but they have had to slow down or pass me in some instances to avoid hitting me. If it happens while turning at a 2 way stop or on an entrance ramp, my car might not accelerate fast enough to merge into traffic. There have been no lights on the dash, and the dealer has not been able to identify the issue when I have taken it in.

28 Power Train problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 02/08/2023

I was sold a used car w/ undisclosed accidents. Had many issues within first few weeks. Had transmission cooler lines replaced after they burst. Radiator, compressor, condenser, and much more. Then the airbag light came on. Dealership said connectors were bad. Fixed it. Light came on again. Took it in to dealership. They had it for over two weeks. The gm for all the dealerships told me the vehicle was not unsafe and told me lies. But the service girl confessed she no longer had access to my vehicle or my file and her boss and the gm had taken over working on it. She then told me they pulled Ford model air bags from my chevy Impala. Now the light has come on again. I do not feel safe or rust the dealership to fix it properly.

34 Power Train problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 06/12/2022

Today, 6-12-2022, driving on us highway 80 at 65 mph headed toward phenix city, al from columbus, GA, the the engine shuddered, then the "stabilitrack service light" came on, along with the check engine light, and a message for "reduced engine power. " then, the engine suddenly cut out as I was going uphill between the riverchase exit and the summerville exit. Luckily, I was driving and not my wife. I was able to glide the car back to the right shoulder of the road under zero power, and shut the ignition down. Cars were passing me at 65-75 mph, and I was very fortunate not to have caused an accident. After sitting there for about 5 minutes in 96 degree heat and my wife freaking out in the passenger seat, I restarted the car and eased it to the summerville exit, and slowly drove home, about another 6 miles. We were damn lucky not to have been hit by another car, as this happened on a what is essentially a freeway. After researching this , it seems this is a common problem being reported on this model, the chevy Impala. I'm sure Chevrolet knows about this. . . The company should be forced to recall this car model and fix it before folks start getting killed due to total engine failure. . . Especially at a high speed like I was driving.

35 Power Train problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 02/26/2022

The "service stabilitrak" light and engine light has returned making the vehicle non-operational once again. I have spent over $2500 in the past 12 months at an authorized chervrolet dealership attempting to repair this exclusive, patented general motors safety system, however, the system continues to malfunction. I cannot be the only owner of a gm vehicle with this frustrating, expensive issue. Please assist with a recall and/or inquiry to gm/Chevrolet. Previous NHTSA tracking number 11444992.
