1 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 11/23/2020

Able to shift gear positions but the indicated shift position does not represent the gear position the vehicle is in. When I stop and park the vehicle, I am able to shift the lever to the "park" position, but the vehicle is not actually in park position. I currently have the emergency break on. Vehicle will not stay in park when gear is in park position. The lightest touch will knock gear shift into reverse and car rolls away.

8 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 04/06/2016

I was driving my 2006 Impala car as a daily driving car. Drove great, no shifting issues or transmission slipping. Then all of a sudden I started the car up one morning and car did not move. It feels like the transmission is engaging, but doesn't move. Iit acts like car is not in any drive gear even after putting car into a gear, like reverse or drive.

9 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 11/19/2015

The only recall I was able to find out was for the ignition,. My transmission just went out 11/19/2015, it will not switch into gear, it starts just fine no check engine light but left me stranded. Turned the car off and when I started it again it drove just fine, so I slowly drove it home. I don't get on the highway no more because it lacks power the get up is not there mind you yes I have 225k miles on it but I have had about 10 trouble codes and I managed to get rid of them all when I cleaned the tps, aic, and map sensor new egr valve, oil change tune up transmission flush all has been done this year and still on the highway it struggles, I did have one code that popped up 0420 so at this point I have been thinkin to just replace the catalytic converter when I get my taxes, but the problem is just getting worse and worse, so then I am thinking its the fuel pump, I mean my alternator is fine, I know I am sick of the security light always coming on, my left blinker only works in the day time at night never which is the weirdest thing, my windshield blades only work on the fastest setting, in the winter when it rains or snows my doors when we get inside to lock them the lock and unlock and the panel says door ajar when there is no door ajar,it will drive just fine as it nothing was ever wrong. Inconsistent and whats even weird is now the check engine light wont even come on after my transmission failed me in the middle of the road you would think the computer was able to record something. Once tranny fixd I will get the ignition recall fixed originally a loud noise was coming from engine like a screeching noise so I figured it was the alternator now that noise is gone but the minute I felt it wasn't the tranny, my car at the light would not go at all until I turned it off and back on. Please help me.

11 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 07/12/2014

I was stopped at a stoplight and tried to accelerate only to find out I was not moving much. I determined there was another issue with the transmission not shifting into gear. The light turned green and I was almost rear ended in a multiple vehicle accident until I slowly down shifted out of drive to 1st gear. I was finally able to up shift through 1st, 2nd, 3rd gears up to road speed and then shift into drive. This has been a regular occurrence since this time. I have issues with hard shifting when I back out of my driveway, from a full stop and even when the transmission tries to shift up when I am driving in town or highway speeds. This creates a very dangerous situation for me and other drivers. Please research this issue and bring this to the attention of general motors. I think for as many impacted cars as are on the road there should be a safety recall issued. I don't think there needs to be deaths with people driving these cars before the manufacturer should make design changes. When I purchased this car I thought it would be safe and have just normal wear and tear issues. This has not been the case with my 2006 Chevrolet Impala. I have had numerous issues crop up that I see other car owners have endured as well from the online posts about said such issues. I am happy for youtube and others that had gone through the same issue. At least I was able to figure out how to resolve some issues when the local gm dealership garage and mechanics could not isolate and trouble shoot my issues. As I report yet another issue today I received a recall notice about the ignition today.

Called onstar and they informed me that the transmission had failed. This is a '06 Chevrolet Impala ss with 72,000 miles driven. I had to pay for a 3k transmission to replaced the failed one. I was informed after the failure that this is an extremely common problem with the chevy ls4 engine and this transmission. 17 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 11/15/2009

As of yet there has been no incident however there have been numerous close calls as the transmission is not shifting into gear unless you race the motor. Nearly rearending other vehicles, property or pedestrians. I can not safely pull out at an intersection because the transmission may slip. I've read on message boards where hundreds of other people are having the same problem and gm has no good fix for it. It doesn't seem to mater if the car is warm or cold the transmission still acts up. 89k miles on the car when this began and I haven't felt safe driving the car since. Thank you.
