Turn signals only work sporadically. 2001 chevy Impala. This has been occurring over the past year. The dealer can't tell me what is wrong.

I own a 2001 chevy Impala. I have had problems with the turn signals and hazard lights working. They work when they feel like it. I am a single mom and can't afford to repair this problem. Please help. I have a CO worker who has the same car and is having the same problem.

I went to use my turn signal and it did not work. Sometimes it will work then other time it wont. So be careful. Unsure what's going on.

Turn signal failure. This has been happening for several months once in a while. Lately it is happening more often. If I turn off car and restart the turn signals work again for a while. Tonight while driving one hour home, I had to turn my car off and restart it 4 times so the turn signals would work again. I believe that this is a defect - my car only has 39,400 miles on it.

The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that the turn signal does not operate properly in rainy conditions. The failure was noticed while driving 30 mph. The dealer advised him to activate the hazard lights each time the failure occurs. The current mileage is 140,000 and failure mileage was 100,000.

I own a 2000 Impala. From time to time, the turn signals will stop blinking or will not blink at all. If I turn the emergency flashers on and off, they will resume blinking. I know of a malibu with this same problem. When I mentioned this to the service department where I purchased the vehichle, they knew what the problem was but said there were only recalls on two models and mine was not one of them. This has not caused an accident but I think it is a safety problem.

My turn signals do not run properly. They work and sometimes they don't. The hazards work then they don't'. At times when you move the turn signals back and forth or you turn the hazards on and off, it might make the turn signals work ok, I haven't had any turn signals that work correctly for the past two years.

At least once a week the turn signals fail to work (ussually during rush hour of course). I have reported this to the dealer 3 times and they have been unable to get it to repeat this failure; and, thus, say it is very difficult to fix the problem if they can't see it happen. Turn signals will not work most of the time. If you turn the hazard flashers on for a minute then turn them off the turn signals will work for a little while. This is a serious safety problem.

Consumer states turn signal works intermittently during usage. Dealer has been contacted.

When using the lane change feature on the turn signal lever, instead of flashimg at same speed as when using the turn signals, the flasher (at times) would flash at a rapid speed similar to when a bulb would be burned out in the tail lights. Consumer had a new switch put in, but that didn't remedy the problem. The consumer along with a dealer rep, had tested other of the same vehicle make, and noticed that one had acted the same as the consumers vehicle, with the cruise control switches on the turn signal lever. The one that acted properly did not have cruise control on the turn signal lever.

Turn signals worked intermittently. Took vehicle to dealer, and dealer did not know what caused the problem. Turn signals failed in both directions. To activate them, consumer would have to activate the hazard lights for a few seconds or cut the engine off.
