I was stationary at a red light on highway 49 with my foot on the breaks, and when the light turned green I let my foot up off the breaks and the car just shut off. I tried to turn the car back on, but still nothing. I waited a few seconds and the car started back up, so I put it in drive and started driving, but when I tried to slow down the breaks were very tight. For an hour and a half, I sat there and tried to figure out what was wrong with the car. I found nothing, so I got back into the car and cranked it and the check engine light came on. I got the car to star Chevrolet and they diagnosed the problem as the brake vacuum pump.

I have been experiencing an issue with the check engine light coming on almost every fuel fill up I have replaced the cap cap 3 times already and I keep getting the same code. My car's check engine light has been on and flashing for the past two weeks. I have had my car repaired several times by autobody shops. A diagnostic test have never been done before today. My car is pulling to the right. The rack and pinion was replaced last year. I hit a deer and according to the repair shop I only had body damage. Six months later they are telling me I need to replace my engine. I have replaced the brakes on this car more than seven times. I am in the process of getting the rotors replaced. Then every four months I have to get my tires replaced.

The check engine light won't go off and there's only 78000 miles. The auto stop isn't working. The tracking light won't go of and the abs light wont go off.

While driving 60mph on the highway, my car began beeping and displayed �reduced engine power� on the screen. The traction light and engine light also came on. The cars speed was immediately reduced almost causing a serious accident as I was in the left lane on the highway with a semi behind and beside me. I was able to maneuver to the shoulder. I had to restart the car twice in order to be able drive it home. This was an absolutely terrifying situation. The check engine light is still on. Upon googling this issue, many people have had this problem and there has not been a recall! if my reaction time wasn't a fast as it was today, I would have been seriously hurt, or worse. Gm needs to address this.

The engine variable timing oil control valve is malfunctioning as I have seen with thousands of others on the internet. Gm is no longer making the part. I was driving my car on a highway and the check engine light came on. The car drove normally, but when I attempted to accelerate to merge onto another highway, the car seemingly stopped accelerating even with my foot on the gas. The car was stuck with no propulsion for a few seconds before I could accelerate again. The car now only slowly accelerates, or dies if I try to accelerate quickly. My fuel economy has been worse and according to reports the emissions of the car are worse. No action is being taken by gm to fix this issue.

As I was exiting the freeway and stoped on the off ramp, I tried to step on the gas pedal to go but my car did not want to go. My steering wheel was locked, my bluetooth cut off, and the check engine light went on. I turned on my hazard lights and put my car in park. I tried to shut it off but it didn't shut off right away. I pushed the off button a few times before it finally shut off. When I turned it back on, I drove to th e nearest parking lot and put it in park. Only this time, the message "shift to park" popped up. My vehicle was already shifted to park but the system obviously couldn't comprehend. My car only has 61,845 miles!! it should not be having these issues so soon!!.

The car was driving at a high speed and then suddenly slowed down dramatically. An error code, along with the check engine light, came on starting reduced engine speed. The car is not able to speed up at all. This has happened several times. While driving on the freeway, which is very dangerous.

Well I'm driving in the freeway and the car star lossing power I almost crash then the check engine light turn on and it's say something about the stability somentihin like that and that I have to be becarfull driving.

Reduced engine power first time this happened I was making a u turn at slow speeds when my dash displayed � reduced engine power� check engine light came on as well as traction control light . I pulled over turned my car off and back on a few mins later later lights went away and car drove fine . ( November 2019 ) second time was mid February 2020 I was driving about 40 mph when same thing happened . Dash lights came on reduced engine power came back on and car slowed down to less the 20 mph within seconds . Once again I had to pull over turned my car on/off about 3 times in 20 mins for light to go away and car drive normal again . Third time today 2/27/20 at maybe 10 mph my dash lit up once again check engine light did not go away this time . But car drove fine afterwords luckily it hasn't happened on highway speeds or with my daughter in the car . All this in the last 3 months I bought my car with 20 miles June 1st 2017 and currently has 38k miles . This definitely has to be fixed before it causes serious accidents !.

While driving on the freeway or the streets the vehicle looses power. A dashboard light comes on along with the check engine light and the dashboard says engine power is reduced. This causes the car to drop speed and lose power. It really unsafe as twice I've almost been rear ended.

I recently purchased a 2012 Malibu lt, which is having the same issues, as was report; Mar 26, 2019 - kaufman, TX - engine when driving or sitting at idle not moving service esc and traction control flashes on dash. Which is causing check engine light to stay on causing misfire on cylinder #1 and then random misfire. The car hasn+t been able to be inspected in 2 years have had at 3 Chevrolet dealerships and all can+t figure out issue . The 1st dealership said we have no idea what+s wrong with the car. The second dealership said the car needed #1 injector and injector harness and throttle body which was replaced didn+t even make it off the lot and check engine and traction control and esc lights was flashing again they said might have cracked head car has been pressure tested doesn+t use water and doesn+t get hot. They are just trying to throw parts at it at my expense. The 3rd dealership which car is at now is telling me possible burnt valve causing all my issues with car said they did compression test and all cylinders have 170 pounds in all 4 cylinders which is not possible. I have replaced map sensor, pcm, spark plugs, 1 injector, injector harness, throttle body and nothing has helped car. The car never had any issues with misfire until the esc and traction control started flashing and in 2 years still has been solved at any dealership very disappointed in need of help to fix issue. I was driving on the highway, speed limit was 70mph I was going that speed then out of nowhere I got the check engine light and a notice on my dash appeared as �engine power reduced� and my speed drastically declined I was almost rear ended by a semi truck, I had people in the back of my car and with an impact from a trailer we could have been seriously hurt or even killed. This a reoccurring proble with Malibu's from the year 2016-2019 gm knows about the issue but has done nothing to resolve it. This issue not only puts the driver of the vehicle in harm but others around as well. The problem is the throttle body response sensor which is about a $300-$500 fix which is not an cheap fix. They need to be held responsible for this because one day this could happen to anybody with this type of car and it can kill someone.

The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted who referred contact to local dealer. The failure mileage was 46,000. Ap.

While driving on freeway going 70 mph, my traction control, check engine light, and a warning flash across my dashboard saying engine speed reduced. My car went from going 70 mph to 40 mph and wouldn't go any higher. I immediately got off the freeway took pictures of the lights. Luckily I have a anti left device that reads off codes for my check engine like code p2138 is what came up. This is extremely dangerous, I had my 15month old child in the car with me and was almost rear ended due to loss of power from such a high speed.

On January 15th. At 08:26am while driving to work my check engine light came on. On January 19th. The car was dropped for service at westgate Chevrolet in edmonton, ab. After two weeks of testing and multiple part changes the dealer established that my car has a faulty "intake oil control valve". This is a well known failure of the gm ecotec 2. 5 lkw engine. Gm has been trying to redisgn the part since September of 2019. As of today may 20th, 2020 the replacement part has still not been made available and my car has been sitting at the dealer for 4 months now. Multiple owners of 2014 and 15 Malibu's and impala's are suffering the same faith. Lately gm corporate has not even returned e-mails from my dealer as to when the new part will me made available. This is an absolutely unacceptable behavior on part of gm.

Check engine lights blinks on and off car defects as if it will cut off found out its the piston and throttle body from fieldsman Chevrolet now im out of a car with no loaner car because they are backed this car was called for recall for these repairs.

On Jan 6 2020. I was driving a 2016 chevy Malibu, when the check engine light and engine reduce power light came on. I pulled over and let the car seat for maybe 10 mins. I restarted the vehicle and begin driving again (it was pulling normal). About 3 miles down the road I was making a left turn and the car stop pulling and the reduce engine power light comes on which leaves me in the middle of a intersection section causing a vehicle coming from my right side to slam into the side of vehicle deploying all of my airbags and making on-star assistance come on. In the result I have neck, back and side injury from the impact. Which in the result I'm getting sued because my car stalled in the middle of the turn going left. My car was totaled out and my insurance don't want to pay the full value of what I was leasing it for. Which I have to come out the pocket with expenses. After reviewing the "engine reduce power" and doing my research I come to find out it has been numerous complaints. I could have lost my life!.

So I feel like there should be a recall if I had to read a lot of stories that are similar to mine. My vehicle was driving fine and then I get a signal on my dash as I am going up a hill saying that "engine power reduced" and my check engine light came on. I'm in the middle of a street trying to get to work and I could barely get up the hill. Thank goodness there wasn't a lot of traffic that time of day. I managed to make it to a store to get it checked out and the said something about a throttle unit replacement. It is supposed to control my acceleration. This is quite dangerous to keep happening and nothing be done about it when I have seen multiple complaints on it. I just wanted to share my story too and hopefully something can be fixed.

2014 chevy Malibu 2lt 75,000 miles. Omaha, ne. Check engine light came. Hesitation in acceleration. Diagnostic code p16cf - intake rocker arm solenoid valve 2 control circuit. Chevy dealer has 17 on backorder. After research this appears to be a known issue, with no recall. Shop ordered part 2 weeks ago. They are telling us they hope to have the part by first of February.

The check engine light came on and the code reader showed that the variable timing solenoid needs to be replaced. After searching for a replacement part, I keep getting told that this make/model consistently has this problem. The engine light comes on, the car loses power and seems to have a tugging feel when driving especially when accelerating. This happens both with in town driving and freeway driving. Happens at any speed.

While driving, engine goes into reduced power mode without warning and unable to maintain speed. Check engine light starts blinking and acceleration is lost. This happened twice, on a highway and on a road. Getting to the side of the road safely was very difficult. Onstar sent an email notification of the critical failure.

While driving my check engine light came on. Plugged it in to see what codes it was reading both O2 sensor and well as as cam shaft,check engine litlght is still on sensing the same codes. Went to 2 different garages and they are unable to find the issue. I'm unable to get my car inspected due to the issue.

My vehicle shows the check engine light, the dealer made a check and found problems with the rocket arm valve part number 12633613 (engine variable timing oil control valve). That was in December 2019, they request the part to gm, and so far the part is unavailable. I tried to buy it through internet and friends in other states, and no auto parts have this part. This part is necessary because control the timing of the engine. My car can get ruin if I do not change that part. Gm is being irresponsable to have this important part of the car available.

I was driving down the interstate doing 74 miles an hour when all of a sudden the car jerked and started slowing down. The display screen showed a messaging saying engine power reduced. I pulled over on the shoulder because it wouldn't let me accelerate and had slowed the car down to 50 mph. I sat there for a minute and was going to try to drive on the shoulder to the next exit. When I started the car the message was no longer there but the check engine light was still on. The car has done this more than 10 times since this day.

My check engine light came on towards the beginning of Dec 2019. I took it to a chevy dealership who stated it was due to the rocker arm oil control valve and that they needed to order the part. I waited until Feb 2020 with no update on when the part would arrive so I took my Malibu to another dealership who stated it need the same part and that it should be there within a week. As of may 2020 my car is still at that dealership without an estimated date in when the part will be available. I called gm and the only thing they can do is offer $2500 towards a new car.

While driving my 2017 Chevrolet Malibu on the highway with my son in the car, the driver screen dash flashed a message �engine power reduced�, the check engine light turned on, and the car immediately lost power making it difficult to drive safely. After this happened, my car would not exceed 45 mph and would not shift. After pulling my car to the side of the busy highway and letting it set, I was able to get my car towed to my home. This has since happened five additional times and is happening at a more rapid rate. I took my car the oreilleys and autozone to have them run a general diagnostic check and the error code being returned was �p2138� - �throttle/pedal position sensor/switch d / e voltage correlation�. I then set up an appointment with the Chevrolet dealership, where technicians also ran a more thorough diagnostic test and found my car needed a new accelerator pedal position sensor. This part is not functioning as it is supposed to and at the very least is an extreme safety hazard.
