2 Cooling Fan problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 02/09/2018

Check engine light & reduced power experiences three times while driving. Poor fuel economy (since purchase of vehicle) and loss of engine oil (however not visable). Miles between oil changes and issues were 5000 and 3300 (synthetic oil - should not be low & dirty in that short period of time). Idling is very rough and cooling fans not shutting off. 35 days later - same issue - reduced power, oil level low, idling rough. Dealer found low compression, blown piston and debris causing deep scores in bore. Engine replaced. 60 days later - same issue - reduced power, idling rough, cooling fans continue to run. Replaced accelerator pedal sensor. Before leaving dealership, check engine light on, cooling fan continue to run after engine turned off. Replaced mass air flow sensor.

3 Cooling Fan problem of the 1999 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 12/15/2006

After replacing my intake gasket 8 months ago, my car still overheats. One of my cooling fans is not working. My ac level controls 1 & 2 doesn't work, only 3,4, and 5. Ac shuts off on its own. My engine belt went from sqeaking to making a noise I never heard before. Now my car is non operational due to a knocking sound coming from the engine. So far in the past 8 months, I replaced my intake gasket $600, replaced my engine belt cost $120, replaced my brake pads and caliper twice in the past 2 years $250 each time. Now I'm looking at another major repair job. Help me please.

5 Cooling Fan problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 11/06/2003

I puchased this car with 20000 miles on it. I had it for a little over 5 months and I am replacing a fuel pump that will cost $650. The power steering has corrosion, so the power steering has to be flushed. Replacement of the fuel filter, a cracked fan belt, and throttle body service. I have the gm extended warranty, but it only covers the cost to replace the fuel pump. Everything else is out of pocket expenses because it is considered "regular maintenance". The brakes also grind and seem to take too long for the car to stop. So I think brakes aren't far behind to be replaced. I am hoping I will not need rotors too. I have read so many complaints about the brakes on the 2000 chevy Malibu. I try to buy american because I am a proud one. But the quality seem to be substandard compared to japanese cars. My next car will be foreign. Us car makers need to "step it up", as far as quality with these cars.

Consumer purchased vehicle on 4-10-98 from roger dean Chevrolet inc. ---561-683-8100. Service # is 561-640-1835. Took vehicle to dealer on 4-20-98 due to noise coming from rear of passenger's side. The service representative said it was the cooling fan. Since then the noise has gotten louder, and vehicle was taken back on 4-27-98 for same noises, service technician said it was the fuel pump inside the gas tank, and that the noise is normal. But if consumer does not hear noise she should be worried. Consumer is worried because the noise gets louder everyday.
