1 Crankcase (pcv) problem of the 2017 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 05/21/2025

The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the message to depress the brake pedal and shift to park(p) was displayed. The vehicle was restarted but stalled again. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the oxygen sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the failure only occurred while driving at speeds below 40 mph. The vehicle was returned to the same mechanic, and it was determined that the oxygen sensor needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the pcv valve and the valve cover were replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and advised that the oxygen sensor was not oem and replaced the oxygen sensor with an oem part. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The contact returned the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and reprogramed the hybrid engine control module. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred. The contact had not taken the vehicle back to the dealer or to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact informed the manufacturer of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

2 Crankcase (pcv) problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 03/11/2024

While driving 60 mph on the highway my car started stuttering then lost all power. It threw 3 codes p0131, p2097 and p0171. I have spent over $1,000. 00 and a month later they tell me it was my intake bolts that were loose. They replaced every part pcv valve, maf sensor, O2 sensor and car still wouldn't run right. Please address this issue as that is unsafe for a car to just stop on the highway.

3 Crankcase (pcv) problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 04/07/2023

Car hesitant to crank, once the start/ stop button is pushed, the car will start, run smooth for a second or two then start to shake and putter like it’s not getting fuel and loses it power and cuts off. I have to go through this process 5/6 times before the car will stay crunk. While driving car will out the blue say reduced engine power and acts as if it does not want to pull or it is losing power! the car also has the eco saving feature where it cuts off at every stop and there is not an option be turned off and car is hesitant to start back up after it cuts off. Car is now starting to smoke from the tailpipe. The vvt intake and exhaust solienoids have oil getting into them and the pcv valve is about to crack open. The car throws codes like rich fuel intake, something to do with the catalytic system (in which I’ve put a brand new catalytic converter on the car and it did not solve the issue) it also throws codes about a throttle and cam sensors and a few more codes. . I see where there are recalls for the (same make, model, year, and engine size) but my cars VIN is not included with the recall! can we please get this as I need my car and need this issue fixed as soon as possible as it is dangerous for me and my 2 year to travel in this vehicle.

4 Crankcase (pcv) problem of the 2020 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 08/28/2021

I purchased a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu with 38,000 miles. I experienced a faulty air vacuum pump (first experience was at 45,000 miles and was replaced in August of 2021, two months after purchasing the vehicle in June of the same year), and then the replaced air vacuum pump again in February of this year (2023). This issue being brake related was unsafe. I experienced an intermittent reduced engine speed message on dashboard, with immediate reduction of speed down to 20 mph or less while driving. This made me and others unsafe. I experienced brake booster failure, among other issues stemming from all aforementioned. The car is now said by dealership to have indication of an internal engine issue and affected pcv lines dealing with a defective orifice (kiriacopoulos, et al. V. General motors llc, case no. 2:22-cv-10785, in the u. S. District court for the eastern district of michigan) the car remains at a dealership and has now been there for over 30 days. There was no warning lamps, messages prior to the air vacuum pump/brake booster issue. I got in the car to try driving, and it was hard to push the brake with foot, so for I knew something was wrong. In taking it in to service, was when it identified to be that issue. Those issues have been manufacturer inspected (dealership) and confirmed. I experienced these issues since purchasing the vehicle in June of 2021. I believe that gm knows of these issues and has put me at risk on the road, along with some other symptoms of the car failures that are also well documented, and that gm is aware of, with no recalls. These car parts/issues put me and others in further danger, the car's air vacuum pump and brake booster affecting car's ability to operate, damaging other parts (johnson vs. Gm).   consumer rights to be protected and safe are at risk, not deserving to have faulty auto parts sold, further exacerbating issues with the car being dangerous on the road with defective brake related parts, and rendered inoperable.  .

6 Crankcase (pcv) problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 04/19/2020

I've replaced battery, head gaskets, overflow tank, air system connectors, water pump, pcv valve, evap canister, spark plugs, spark plug wires, radiator, camshaft sensor, coolant temp sensor, but my car is still leaking coolant from underneath lower intake manifold and isn't trying to start. I've spent over $2000 and still haven't seen results or got it to fully function. Last time I drove it was on regular georgia roads going to and coming home from work when it over heated twice going both ways.
