1 Engine Oil Leaking problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 08/04/2020

Tl-the contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving at 40 mph smoke seeped into the cab of the vehicle. The contact stopped closeby. The vehicle was checked by a non mechanic and they saw there was a very small amount of antifreeze left in the vehicle. The vehicle was driven to the dealer riverside Chevrolet707 w 51st st, tulsa, ok 74107 918-446-7700 while it was running hot. The vehicle had serviced by the dealer with an oil change and fluid checks two months earlier. The dealer suggested to leave the vehicle overnite. They diagnosed the issue with the heater coil that possibly caused a leak of the anti freeze and it needed to be replaced. The failure mileage was 84,000. Tf.

2 Engine Oil Leaking problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 07/17/2020

On 7/5/20 the vehicle was in motion going down the highway and the high pressure fuel pump mounted on the engine broke lose, dropped into the engine and tore apart the engine. Was towed and fixed by closest gm dealership (deery brothers, west burlington, IA). There is a recall for a bad weld on the high pressure fuel pump for 2016-2018 Malibu's resulting in the exact issue I had on my 2014. The dealership said gm, Chevrolet and the dealership (which is a gm certified dealership where I bought the car certified pre-owned in 2018) said they all bared no responsibility for the issue. I paid $3,128 for the repair on 7/17/20. Two days after bringing my car home, there is an oil leak that was never there before. The dealership says this is a hole in the oil pan, and again is my responsibility to pay for in full to be fixed. I received a letter from Chevrolet on 7/16/20 saying there is a recall for my VIN # for an oil pressure valve. Incorrect oil pressure could have caused the high pressure fuel pump to explode causing the issue on 7/9/20. I do not believe that between the two recalls issued by Chevrolet for my car model I should be responsible for the full weight of the repairs on a car that was purchased certified pre-owned with a warranty two years prior, not to mention I've had all regular services done in a timely matter at the same dealership, that has under 90,000 miles and is only six years old. There is no reason for such extensive engine damage to such a new car with no previous issues.

3 Engine Oil Leaking problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 11/08/2019

Nothing but issues after issues after issue! the dealer doesn't even know what is wrong with my car. I had reducing engine issues, took to dealer and seems as if they just cut a wire. I still get the reduced engine power without the message appearing. Then an oil leak out of nowhere and now my car will not start, on lunch at work 30 miles from home. Everyone with this car just should be given a new one. I feel like were test dummies, not cool! or safe!!.

4 Engine Oil Leaking problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 09/17/2019

We purchased this vehicle as for safety and convenience, we are student and full time workers. We share one care and because of that we took care of the car like recommended. Since October, we have been isolated, depended on uber and lyft because of gm not having the part for the vehicle. We searched everywhere, we called gm and filed a complaint, nothing was done. We paid to get the diagnosis done and said we need the oil control valve and part number 12633613. No one has it and everyone is looking for the same part. There is an issue there and gm should be held responsible. We're still paying for the vehicle. The incident had while the vehicle was in motion, as I was driving to work, I heard a loud pop and lucky I was to my job 21880 state road 7, boca raton FL 33064. I parked the vehicle and went out to check, oil leaked everywhere leaving a trail behind. Called my insurance for road side assistance. We were able to purchase the off market brand which didn't last even a month! now we stuck. Thank you chevy,.

11 Engine Oil Leaking problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 08/01/2007

I have a 2001 chevy Malibu with a 3. 1 liter engine and I have had to replace the intake gasket once because it leaked oil into the antifreeze and antifreeze into the oil. It was a problem that I did not know existed with this motor? I found out a short time later that the damage was extensive and had to put a motor with 30,000 miles into my car. That was 1year ago last August and as of today September 5th I have the same problem with this motor and I'm going to have to replace the intake gasket again. How can I get this replaced at general motors cost, rather than mine again? I know of many others that have the same problem that I do.

12 Engine Oil Leaking problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 10/15/2003

Basically this is to complain about the gm 3. 1l v6 engine in my 1997 Chevrolet Malibu. I understand that there are 1100 such complaints and would appreciate some help with my situation also. In the last couple of weeks my vehicle has begun to have a multitude of problems that had led up to my current fiasco. About 2 weeks ago after an oil change my 97 Malibu began to have problems with a lifter ticking. My mechanic suspects a collapsed lifter; this has not been repaired yet. My car also now runs very rough and does not have the power it used to have. Today 10/2/03 I had to drive into seattle and began to have a severe heating problem with the car. My wife and I were deathly afraid we were going to be stranded on the freeway somewhere or stuck in a part of seattle we did not feel very safe in. The temp gauge began to rise very quickly as we arrived at our destination just south of seattle, the needle was pegged and the temp light actually came on. I had dex-cool anti-freeze leaking all over the engine and all over the ground. We waiting approx 30 minutes before we started out again and yes were afraid the entire way home that we would get stranded on the road somewhere. I got the car to my mechanic and he has informed us that we probably need a new engine, on a car that only has 95,000 miles on it. I have read other complaints on the internet about the faulty gaskets which result in anti-freeze leaking into the engine causing bad camshafts, bad bearings and who knows what else. If I had the resources to dump the piece of junk I just might, however I do not have the recourses to do that, I must get it fixed. Right now a $4000. 00 dollar repair will not be good for my family. Frankly I am tired of being sold junk, 20000. 00 dollars might not be much too some people but it is to me. My car now is barely worth $4000. 00 and the thought of putting $4000. 00 into it just to get it running again makes me sick. I will think twice the next time about purchasing a gm product.
