Car had a knocking in the motor. Took to dealer to get fixed, they have not fixed the problem in the last 2 tries. They first said that it was my fault for not taking car of motor. Oil changes have been made every 3-4 months or 3 thousand miles. They first replaced the lifters, 2nd time it went in they replaced the timing chain and gears. Now up to date they have had the car for 2 weeks and they have done nothing with it do to the fact they are waiting for the warranty place to say that they can put a new motor in. They are now saying that they are going to put a used motor in that has 42000 miles on it. Till this date they will not tell me what is wrong with the car and they will also not let me see the motor it self since they have had it for 2 weeks and every thing that is connected to the motor is out of the car except the block. I personally take care of heavy equipment in the job that I do which has a $ amount around 350,000 dallors and I do oil changes, and any minnor fixing problems. It blows me away that they tell me they can not find the problem to a vehicle that I bought from them. It may sound like a piston or a rode that has gone bad. Dt.

Consumer states that the vehicle hesitates between 65-70 mph. The dealer cannot find a problem.
Engine pings with no reason, rotors are looking bad early on.
Turned my car off and went into the store. Came back out and the car would not start. After several attempts, the car had to be towed to the dealer. The dealer made a estimate based on my complaint of $78. 00. I was contacted the next day with a $700. 00 estimate. The computer had to be updated, the ignition has to be re-keyed, and the fuel injector has to be cleaned. And that is just to get it running again!.
Engine ticks at cold starts then ends once warmed up. Dealer notified, has no explanation, no idea what repairs will cost if extended warranty doesn't cover it.
Consumer stated that the vehicle experienced a cold start noise, dealer stated that the noise was coming from number 5 and 6 pistons.

Engine kept knocking and the first dealer said they didn't have time to look at it , they put a new engine in but still having problems, the brakes have been replaced (rotors and pads) 2 times and still are not right, the car would not go from park to reverse on 2 occasions, I have had lights not working, door latches broken.
In both failures the service support was not in excisting,or very insulting, both problems have injury or death possibilitys, rotor warranty only 12. 000 miles, but the problem is a defect which is in all models starting in 1998 till now. It is not acceptable, every 7000 miles new rotors or die?? engine losing power at high speed and grouded freeway,no power steering or brakes,no warning. Dealer tells me there are no codes and it runs well, after dealer told wife to remove vehicle,18 miles later ,car is stuck again,Chevrolet assistant service said perhaps wife can push the car to the right. Must we tolerate this, and a sales person knows about the bullitins, and will say that there is no rotor problem, brand new vehicle, never miss work ,losing job ,home and wife because of no error codes. So much for empty promises. Service manager dont care if you die or live ,dealer has his 22. 000. 00 and tells you to remove your junk. Chevys image is clouded and not honest.
Rotars continue to warp, and the engine knocks but no one knows why.
Bought this car on the premise of low maintainence. Have averaged dealer visits every two months. This car is a lemon and I don't feel my family is safe in it. No safety defect listed in the summary.
The vehicle runs poorly possible due to contamination. Nlm.
Abs brake light was on. Consumer had to get the sensor replaced. Also, leaves are getting into the engine.
I have made sevearl attempts to have this vehicle looked at regarding the sounds I hear upon startup. The clicking at first sounded like tappets or valves out of adjustment. The vehicle has a 75000 mile warranty. I called the dealer closest to me and he informed me that this particular engine a 3. 1 l were notorious for "wrist pin tolerance defects" he told me it was an engineering problem and there was nothing to worry about. It should clear up after the metals have expanded inside the engine. I guess you can call me consciecious but the word "defect" has a tendency to unnerve a person after paying for a "new" car. And having had mechanical training I know any tolerances where parts are allowed to move freely even when "warming up" are parts that are usually wearing. Wearing parts mean a unpredicible situation and I worry for my family's safety when we bought a new car to have piece of mind. This tolerance thing is unsafe since wrist pins are what hold the pistons on the connecting rods. There can be no tolerance gap on a part as important even if it stops after a while. I was told there is a technical bulletin on this problem but my mechanic can never seem to find it. My warranty is up in another 8000 miles. I am afraid that the engine will give away after our warranty has expired and as usual then it will be a big deal to the mechanics and dealer when they can take my money to fix a "nothing to worry about".
I have had nothing but problems with my car. At 3,000 miles I had to have the engine replaced. The front headlight, control panel for the windows, the phone jack, the brakes reserviced because they wouldn't replace them at 14,000, then again at 28,000 the brakes are acting up again. Please help thank you patricia robinson.
Rotors have been replaced 5 times on this vehicle and it has less than 20,000 miles.
While driving and without warning vehicle will completely shut down, cause unknown. Please give any further details.
While driving at any speed without prior warning vehicle cuts off, causing loss of all power. Consumer has contacted dealer, dealer has attempted to correct problem. However, problem has reoccurred. Please provide any further details.
While driving there is a noise when braking which may indicate a problem with braking system. Also a noise coming from engine. Please provide further information.
At 20000, if the vehicle hits a bump or a disfigure in the road the vehicle will shut down no matter what speeds. Vehicle has been in two different dealerships which one changed the ignition switch and the other changed the fuel filter. Vehicle is still exemplifying same failure. Nlm.
The motor makes a high pitched whine sound on starting. Yh.
