1 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 08/05/2021

All electrical inside car goes out or on and off while driving. All dash gauges, speedometer, gas gauge, radio, heat/ac, turn signals, etc. Car still runs but nothing on inside works. I do not know if this control outage effects the abs or steering. It only last for a few seconds. It has happened several time will drive 50 to 70 mph. I've let off the gas and try not to panic. Everything comes back on and I continue home. I'm scared to drive my car.

2 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 02/01/2020

Dash lights: esc off, service esc light, brake system (!), abs system, power steering, lights flash and all gauges fluctuate. I have replaced the main control module, as well as power steering module at dealership, and the problem still continues!!!! have read about other same models doing this same problem. It will come on, and then next time I start my vehicle, it stops. Then comes back on. Sometimes stays on for weeks. Or is gone for weeks. This has happened even with professional repairs. This happens when stationary and idling and while driving.

4 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 04/10/2017

The instrument cluster that controls the gear shift that shows if I am in park, reverse, drive, manual don't work with this issue as well as the control panel behind the steering wheel that shows my miles per hour, fuel level, temperature gauge, mileage and more. This is a severe safety risk and I have had my part for this ordered twice but there is so many of this year, make and model car that is needing them that they are back logged out several months. I live in valdosta GA and have to drive around town for the law firm that I work for and this car is so unsafe that I can't drive it bc I have ran out of gas several times and was stranded. Can't tell how fast I'm going so I have been pulled over several times do to that as well.

5 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 02/24/2017

While driving and going to change lanes, I turn on my turn signal to change lanes and the power steering stops working, the dash gauges flicker and the radio cuts out and sometimes the motor cuts off. This also occurs when sitting still, the steering wheel will bounce if turning one direction or the other. I have seen many of these complaints online and no resolution. This also happens while turning. This happens every day.

6 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 06/01/2015

2010 Malibu experiences fluctuations in power/ rpms when trying to accelerate. I have taken the vehicle to get looked at severals times, but mechanic could not get the car to replicate issue. Not sure if its related to the fuel system, transmission, or motor. Either way, no one can diagnose this problem. When issue occurs, the vehicle acts sluggish (does not want to go) and bounces between 2 & 3 on my rpm gauge. It's as if I would push the gas then let off the pedal (repeatedly). At first this only happened when going up a hill, but has become more frequent, and is now happening regardless of grade. It is a definate safety issue, as this has occurred when crossing an intersection and merging onto a highway. It does however seem to be resolved if I press the gas all the way down (rpms go up to 4-5 on gauge, then the car finally goes) I have seen many complaints about this online, but no resolution. The number of miles the car has does not seem to be a factor, as this has happened to others with this car being brand new (based on other complaints). This has been happening intermittently for months. This is my first chevy- bought last year. Seems to have a ton of electrical issues. Bought the car unknowingly with an open recall, tire sensor light comes on intermittently for no reason, car suddenly stalled on the highway and would not start a week after purchased, stereo loses power, power steering is intermittent, the passenger door sometimes fails to open and/or close, the driver side door loses power intermittently, the exhaust is rusting, ect. I did buy a warranty with this car, but being that nothing can be diagnosed, its a waste of money! I still owe over $8000 on this car, and paid blue book value! -Chevrolet totally misleads their customers. Never again OH, and I did recieve a recall letter about my power steering, but the dealership says there is no recall.

7 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 02/15/2015

Went to go get something to eat waiting in drive thru and all of a sudden gas gauge went from full to empty and the light came on and the display said low fuel and hte check engine light came on. Me and my husband looked at each other I told him its full. So we got our food and went next door to the gas station went to put gas in and it would take any because it was full. So then all of a sudden the gas gauge said full. It did this off and on for a while then it started not wanting to start it would take 3-5 tries to finally get it started. Then had the check engine light check it said it needed the fuel pump and relay I think that is what it said. So finally we found some one that would replace it we had to replace both the fuel pump and the relay that lets you know when the fuel is at in your gas tank.

9 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 03/19/2014

Air bag light comes on and off. Put gas in the car and the gauge goes to empty even though I have a full tank of gas. (replaced part in the gas tank a couple of years ago) engine light has stayed on. Need to replace 2 sensors in the engine. Loud noises when I go over rough roads. I am not sure. After the sterring wheel linkage was replaced that is when the noise got louder.

10 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 01/03/2014

On the day of the incident I was traveling on the road with my two children in the vehicle. Suddenly the speedometer and gauges on the dashboard went down to zero while I was driving. The abs, traction control, engine light, and security lock lights were lite up on the dashboard. The fuel gauge is not responding to the amount of fuel in tank. If ever I turn the car off it would not restart which meant my children and I would have been stuck in the middle of nowhere. Its been a headache trying to keep up with the amount of gas in my vehicle due to gauge not responding. The power steering light comes on on the dashboard. Just everything is wrong with this model vehicle and it seems every week there's another recall that is added to the list. Its scary. Twelve to thirteen lives have been lost already over defaults of the chevy modeled vehicles. A very insecure and uncomfortable customer/family.

11 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 11/14/2013

When the car is started, everything seems to be fine, but then the theft system light comes on. When the car is in park and reverse things seem to be normal. At the point the car is placed into drive, the fuel light comes on and says that there is no fuel in the car. At this point, the car will either stall out, while driving or we are able to continue driving. If we are able to continue driving, the car repeatedly shuts off all electrical systems, all gauges are maxed out and speed says 60mph. This happens repeatedly the whole time the car is being driven, but the car is still functional and still able to be driven. If the car system comes back on, the fuel light comes on and says empty and even the trunk pops open while driving. This is very dangerous for many reasons. If this happens at night, there are no headlights or any other lights or they're flickering on and off the whole time.

12 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 01/23/2013

I was driving at about 55 mph and my car stalled and the loss power came on. I was able to restart and took my car to a local car repair business. They put in a 3 part fuel system kit/acd12568796 throttle body assembly ele and the bill came to $654. 92. The mileage at that time was 153101. I purchased my car from an individual. When I purchased the car April 2013 I knew the gas gauge didn't work but I thought that's ok I'll just keep the tank filled up at all time. But I've been having trouble when it is in idle position. It acts like it is going to stop on me. I've asked the car repair business and they told me it was the fuel pump and I would have to have it replaced which would cost me $700. 00. Also I had the calipers replaced at on 10/5/12 with a mileage of 147005 which cost me $531. 92. It's alway something.
