While parking, a "park to shift" warning comes on and will not turn off unless I jiggle the shifter or shift through several times. Lights and radio will not turn off until warning goes away.

The steering wheel sticks/locks up on left and right turns, usually while driving on street roads. The steering wheel also locked while switching lanes on the highway. This is a major safety concern. The radio also blanks in/out often while driving the vehicle, sometimes in conjunction with steering issues. I've only had this vehicle for a short time and been to the dealership on repeated occasions without any luck with duplication or resolution. Also, the pending product safety recall regarding the rear suspension toe link hasn't been addressed by the dealership due to no availability of parts from manufacturer. I've paid for this used vehicle but inherited these issues which are major safety concerns and very bad business. (supporting docs available upon request).

After starting engine, engine will turn off and radio display screen will read engine power reduced. engine will not start for several minutes, but the lights, radio, dash lights and everything will still work. This has happened in my driveway. The first time this ever happened I was on a busy main road at a stop light in the left turn lane. The car shuddered and the engine lost power. Again, the display screen displayed the same message. The car was rolling backwards and would not accelerate. After several attempts the engine did start again. Thankfully it was 6:00 am and I was on my way to work so there was very light traffic.

When driving at auto stop, when beginning to accelerate, car acts like it shut off and says steering assist reduced drive with care. I noticed the battery voltage goes down to 11. 0 v. Also the radio screen flickers black. This has happened multiple times in multiple days.
The power shifter in the car needed to be replaced. As with many of the other recent complaints I see on here, when I went to turn off the car it popped up the "shift to park" warning even though I was already in park and wouldn't power off the radio or lights. It appears this is a consistent problem with all of the 2018 Malibu's and should be recalled.

After I put the car in park and push the button to turn it off, it says to shift to park. I have to restart the car and put it in reverse and drive again. Sometimes this works, but it is getting more difficult to get the car to shut off. The car beeps at me and won't shut the radio off when I push the button to turn the car off. I can't lock the doors because the car doesn't recognize that I have shifted to park. This started happening in July, 2020. At first this only happened occasionally. Now it is happening every time I turn the car off.

I put my car into park and turn the car off. The dashboard tells me that I need to 'shift to park' even though my car is in park. The radio and dashboard will not turn off until I get my car to register that it is in park. Have to turn the car on and off, shift into gears, and back into park to try and get it to register. Eventually after doing that multiple times it will register. Another issue is with the radio and blue tooth. I turned my car off and everything was off. My nephew came over later and asked why my radio was on. Radio randomly turns on when car is/has been off for periods of time. I have automatic start and I started my car from inside work one day and then my blue tooth (music &phone calls) would not play over my speakers. No music would play from the radio either. The volume would turn up and down by itself. Took it to the dealership for the radio issues and they said they couldnt find anything wrong with it. I take it in soon for the 'shift to park' issue.
When vehicle comes to a stop and auto start happens, my radio shuts off. Battery sometimes does not hold charge. Could be the alternator or some kind of electrical misfire or contact. Doesn't happen every time vehicle is started.
While driving my radio turned off several times, engine light came on. A message saying low engine power came on several times and started to go slow while in motion.
Yesterday I was driving and pulled up to a red light. The car shut up as normal for the energy saver feature, but when the light turned green and I took my foot off the break and tried to accelerate the care would not move. The engine light came onto the screen. I waited 2 minutes, turned the car off and back on and it was fine after that. The radio's sound stopped working after that. Everything was normal on the display screen, but no sound was coming out, even when I pushed the on-star button. I pulled over and turned the car off for 10 minutes and back on and the radio worked again like normal.
Radio quit working and won't come back on. I got in my car one day to go to work and the screen was blank and hasn't come back on since. It was working fine the day before no issues or anything odd happened before it went out. I've seen plenty of complaints about the radios going out.
Within the last month my car has completely shut off while driving three separate times. First time I was driving and at a stop light on a hill the car completely shut down. I tried starting it multiple times . At first all the lights and radio will turn on and then minutes later that car started back up. Second time I was at another stop light and the car completely shut off again. Same thing started back up after about 2-3 min of re trying. Third time was yesterday I pulled into a parking lot and turned the car off and then went to re start it and nothing. After about five minutes it started back up again. Called the dealership and they said it can take hours to days to figure out the problem. They told me they would have to wait for the problem to happen again. I dont even want to drive my car anymore considering I could harm myself and potentially other people with this problem. They said there is no recall or bulletins on the problem. Doing research online looks like a good amount of people are having the same problem.
My car keeps losing power. It starts with the radio flashing on and off. Then the steering locks up. The car sometimes shuts all the way off. It starts back up but it will shut off while driving. I purchased the car may 2019. It has happened several times. Most recently 9/16/2019. Driving the radio flashed the steering wheel tightened. It didnt shut down. But it when through that process like 5-6 times back to back. When researching the issue I see my car is not the only car having this problem. It appears to be a wide spread issue with the 2013 chevy Malibu. It should be addressed.
Coming home from work on 8/6/2019 traveling down MD-210 highway, with car motion, the radio cut off and then entire car shut off. We stopped at a red light, so my husband took the key out of the ignition restarted the car and we traveled home. This is not the first time, we had our car checked at our mechanic's shop but at the time he could not determine what the issue could be and could not duplicate the issue. This is not the first time, the radio cuts off, instrument dash lights, cuts off and the the power steering shuts down just for a couple of seconds, it happened when we traveled to work, my husband turned the steering wheel right to get on the highway, the radio went off for a few seconds then it came back home. This is very dangerous and god forbid if this happens while car in motion on a green light it could kill someone. Please recall this vehicle ASAP.
When I turn off my car. The message shift to park pops up and I have to keep turning on and off the car until the message " shift to park" disappears. If I leave it like that the radio turns on really loud. My car is not even 3 years old. This started about a month ago and it went away for a few days and it came back again.
When I come to a complete stop, put the car into park and kill the motor it is not recognizing that the car is in park. The radio keeps playing and the information board reads "shift to park". This has to be done repeatedly. It has done this before but stopped. It started doing it again 6/20/2019.
I bought my 2016 Malibu March 8, 2019 at 40,177 miles and the radio does not come on. As well as any safety chimes and the onstar feature does not come on. A week after getting my car I was driving on a city road when my car reduced speed drastically and a message popped up saying engine speed reduced and the engine light came on. After I cut the car off and back on it seems fine and eventually the engine light goes off. This has happened several times since then. I think something could be wrong with the transmission because my car does not pick up speed in first and second gear very well. I know that there were recalls for these vehicles with the same issues but my car doesn't show any recalls.
While dropping off my children at school the car came to a complete stop and went into auto stop. When releasing the peddle so the car could turn back on the whole dash board and the radio screen completely cut off and when the car turned off it all switched back on. The dash screen flagged and said steering assistant is reduced drive with care. This repeatedly happended another two times everytime I came to a complete stop. After the third time the car did not turn off at all. In the past I have had the error message come on when the car would come to a stop and the car would turn back on but I am beginning to become very worried because now the whole dash board and radio are turning off. I was on a regular city street but am worried when I return to work after my vacation I will get stranded. I am attaching screenshots of a video I was able to capture on the third time this happened to me. The time is attached also.
The radio has no sound and is a common problem since the 2010 model. Gm or chevy is doing nothing to help customers fix the issue or train their service teams to fix the problem. I have had my 2016 for almost 9 months with 3 of those months in radio silence, no answer, and no compensation.
My vehicle has an electrical issue with the power windows and the radio. The power windows will stop working if I try to adjust them to the perfect height for me, forcing me to have to press buttons on another window in order to be able to go back to the window that I would like to adjust. This problem is present in all four windows. The major problem is that the car has some sort of power issue that has been recognized by the Chevrolet dealerships that I have taken it to but it still has not been fixed. In the middle of driving the car loses power and will not move forward at a regular pace and begins to struggle to move forward while the rpm's build up bringing it close to redlining. At that point it will begin to move and jerk when it finally shifts into gear and will do it a second time immediately after the first jerk and begin to drive normal. It has nearly killed my pregnant wife and myself multiple times. It has nearly gotten my younger cousin and I killed on the expressway by struggling to drive while placing in the path of a oncoming semi. We brought the car in late December of 2018 and the problems started about a few days short of a week into the new year. This car is dangerous and from what I understand there are drivers of the chevy cruze experiencing some of the same issues.
My car has bluetooth capabilities and my device was connected until oct 2018. When I press the button, mutes radio. Computer never responds, "ready". I also noticed that onstar is no longer working. Does not make a noise when blue button is pressed. I looked up symptoms and noticed there was a bulletin for this exact issue 08-08-46-008 a/b. Dealership says there is no software to be updated and I've tried multiple phones and prior to determining if my device is compatible, the computer must respond when following the set up rules.

While driving the vehicle I stopped at a stop light and the car turned off due to the auto start/stop when idling. When I let off the brake, the car did not turn back on. After attempting to start the car again numerous times it would not. All electrical stayed on at this point. Car was towed to a chevy dealer in fenton, mi and they replaced battery and battery current sensor. Later I turned the car off and the radio and screen stayed on even after closing and opening the door. Then my car was idling at a stop light today and it auto turned off as when I let off brake it did not turn back on. All electrical stayed on. This time I was able to start the car back up but there's no telling when this will happen again. Very dissatisfied with this vehicle.

All of the sudden my power steering will cut out. My wheel will shake like there is a torque sensor issue and a power steering message appears on my radio screen. This is very unsafe as it happens while my car is stationary or driving.

First of all I am a musician and this car has cut my fingers badly on several occasions. Once I was at an audition and blood was everywhere. You know about this problem cause the web says you have received many many many complaints. Listen if the chrome tape on door handles inside and out peels and cuts them don't allow auto makers to use it please! when you arrive in full dress a suit or nice clothes and you open your drivers door or passenger and the tape slices your finger like a meat slicer and blood is everywhere. I was set to play music tonight and now I cant. I am extremely upset why let them keep using a product that people keep complaining to you about?.

My 2013 chevy Malibu has been having power and/or electrical issues. I have took it to the dealership numerous of times, but the issue is still ongoing. When I steer left or right, my car powers down and the steering wheel locks. Some times the car radio screen and dashboard lights flashes on & off. The only way to make it stop is to turn the car off and back on. I can be driving down the road and the car will shut down and power off on its own. It is extremely dangerous, but that is the only transportation I have right now. I am not sure what is going on and I have seen numerous of complaints from people with the same issues. Please investigate.
On November 1, 2017, while driving home on the expressway I hear this loud revving noise, I turn my radio off and realize it is my car making the noise and than the check engine light comes on. When I was able to I pulled over to the shoulder and turned my car off in hopes of the error clearing out. After a few minutes I turned the car back on only to find that the check engine light was still on, when it was save to do so, I pulled back into traffic with my hazard lights as I could not go over 20 to 30 mph without the rpm going up. I made it home, tried to back into my garage only to find that my car will not go in reverse. I put the car back in drive, pulled around to the front of the house and parked the car. Since it was after midnight, I called Chevrolet the next day and the only thing they could help me with was to get in touch with a dealership to schedule an appointment to take the car in for diagnostics as my car was no longer under warranty and there is no recall on this model year although there is a recall for models 2007 thru 2009 for the same issues. My service adviser called me later that day to tell me it was due to transmission failure, they found metal in the transmission and his advice was to replace the transmission. My diagnostic code was p0776( pressure solenoid 2 stuck off), my bill $3946 for car that has 84000 miles on it. A car that I am still paying a car note on. When I purchased it 4 years ago it had just under 30000 miles on it. I have done everything to maintain my car because my biggest fear is being stuck on the side of the road, especially since I am a woman working 2nd shift. I do not have my repair invoice yet as I have not picked my car up yet, its not so easy to come up with nearly $4000.

While driving alert on panel showed service power steering drive care when this happened car lost traction and brakes not worked properly. 3 x my car is been on davis maus sanford service last service August my car was returned 8/5/15 manager assured me it was fixed and since 3 weeks ago started again now while is park and turned off message of swift to park appeared and all electronic /radio ect start on and alarm activation doesn't work.
I was driving down my driveway and my radio was shutting off and on and then my vehicle would die and the key would lock up, I had to sit there for a minute before it would finally start back up. This has happened twice already. Luckily I was in my driveway when it happened.
2007 chevy Malibu electrical hell my car was completely fine aside from the power steering recall that was fixed on it. Then about 4 months later my car cranks but doesn't start! I was driving it 20 mins prior and then this happens. The radio, the lights, the horn and the dinging with the door open, all still worked. Unsuccessfully trying to start it I left it alone to get towed. 5 days later I received my car back saying it started just fine they can't detect what's wrong with it, because they couldn't read the code it gave out, and to keep notes of weird things to bring it back in. In doing so my car was fine for a month and a half, they're were no issues. The next time my car did the crank and no start I noticed the security icon lighting up, as well as the fact that I left my radio and air on. It's late at night, I'm alone and my car is failing me, after trying for 15 minutes I got my car to start. The third time is the worst time, by this point it's about 2 weeks after the 2nd incident. Same scenario, just drove it 20 mins prior and it was fine, then another crank no start for hours. Even tried to leave my key in to ignition. After hours I got it to start and making it home the car slowed down and came to a complete halt in the middle of an extremely busy street, putting on my brake lights I avoided getting rear ended. I took the key out and restarted the car and it started somehow. After getting it home I haven't driven it since and a number of more issues started happening. My locks have now started to make an obnoxious buzzing noise when getting unlocked, the service air bag notification will light-up on the dash and disappear quickly, all icons light up on dashboard , security icon flashes, check engine light is on, car will not start on crank, radio fades out and comes back on, horn is a faint noise. Reading similar complaints this is an outrage.

Have a 2002 Malibu, and the theft system light keeps coming on and I have to turn off the radio, turn the ignition key to acc, wait 10 - 15 minutes for the theft system light to stop blinking and "disappear", then turn the key to the off position, wait another 5 - 10 minutes. Then turn the key to the start position for the car to crank. The whole process can take approximately 25 minutes to start the car. I never know when I get in my car if the problem will occur, when it will happen or where I will be when it happens. The most recent time was yesterday 3/22/17.

While driving my vehicle and I come to a stop the engine dies out. There is no check engine light or warning before this happens and it has almost caused an accident 3 times now. Even in stop and go rush hour traffic, as soon as I need to slow down the car stutters and then stalls. All the lights and radio stay on but the engine just shuts off. I have to quickly throw it into, park turn the key to off and restart the car everytime. This has been going on for a couple of years and I just dont know what to do anymore. I am not able to trade it in yet and I am afraid to sell it and this happen to someone else.
I have had the transmission totally lock up and sound like braking plactic, had to replace the transmission. Dashboad lights either do not work or flicker. Fast flashing as if a bulb is out than it fixes itself. Numbers running across the radio screen than stops.

First complaint would be the button on the face of the radio screen is melting and when trying to open the black color comes of into your hand. Second complaint is the side of the drivers side whole seat switch compartment came off of the seat hinges.
Theft system light is on and I'm not able to start my car. The radio still works and all the lights and heater and a/c. I try to start the car a few times and sometimes it take several trys to get the car to start. This has been happening quite a bit.
The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that the steering wheel abruptly locked while attempting to turn at a low speed. The failure was experienced several times. While the bluetooth was in use, the radio and steering wheel simultaneously failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery cable was defective and caused the electrical system to lose charge. The vehicle was repaired. The battery cables were replaced and routed correctly. The manufacturer stated that the cable failure was due to wear and tear. The failure mileage was 47,607.
