Radio/tape Cd Player Problems of Chevrolet Malibu - part 2

Bought car used at 136,000 miles. Car radio does not light up or work, and horn doesn't work. Drivers side back window won't go down. First day driving the car, turn signals stopped blinking and then started blinking again. Suspension in the back squeaks badly when driving at random and going over speed bumps. Did not drive the car for more than one day and now car won't start at all (no crank, no start). These are major safety issues including serious electrical problems. The battery is only one year old on the car when purchased, so should be good. These electrical issues need to be recalled. Now I am stuck with a car that has so many problems and won't start and is definitely not safe to drive.

My key will not turn in the ignition and I checked for recalls. I called the dealer to fix the recall on the ignition, and was notified that they would only put a piece of plastic over key and would not fix the ignition to turn. I can hardly even start my car because the key won't turn. The key is going to break off in the ignition. The horn and radio do not work either. Not having a horn for incoming traffic towards my vehicle is very dangerous. The turn signals only work at random times and that is very dangerous when switching lanes into traffic. Also, something in the back of the car squeaks for no reason when going down the road at random and when going over speed bumps. This car also drains the battery with unknown electrical problems. The drivers side back passenger window wont go down either. This car has way too many safety issues for only 137,000 miles on it.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu. While driving 45 mph and making a stop, the radio shut off completely. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed, but the cause of the failure was not found. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 14,000.

The interior light panel went completely dark, after a few minutes it lit up again. This has been happening more frequently lately. The radio stops playing and the panel reads "auxillary mode"and then back to radio, then back to "auxillary mode". I have to turn the radio off and on for it to start playing again. It is happening more frequently. When I plug in my auxillary cord to listen to my ipod, it shorts out. The clicker to unlock/lock the car stopped working as well, so I went to get a new batery. They tested the battery and said it was fine. Also my rear defroster does not work at all now.

While highway driving during a sunny day, was blinded by reflection of the sun off of the chrome that is on the console where the gear shift is located. I had to cover the area with a cloth in order to continue driving. Seems to me that the chrome in that area needs to be "dulled" just a bit as it is in the area surrounding the radio.

Interior electrical problem with the lights in the dashboard---dash lights (driver information center) and radio lights occasionally do not come on and/or frequently go off while driving. Radio will be working then aux imput device will appear and the radio stops working. Also the radio lights will tile at times and then start rolling in rectangular lines.

At random when driving down the road the radio will switch to aux. You can touch the dash on the side or around the radio and it will go back to radio. It will also switch sometimes when you put the car in drive, or turn on windshield wipers. You have to bump the side of the dash or the area around the radio for it to switch back.

After purchasing my Malibu I have had multiple incidents where I was unable to unlock my doors electrically from inside/outside (after a fight with the dealer that issue was fixed after being told I needed to bring the car back and forth for 3 weeks), since then I have had to replace my turn signal bulbs once a month, my left turn signal socket looks like it has been burnt and is very black in color, still cant get gm to acknowledge that there were problems with this on these Malibu's even though there are service bulletins on this issue. Next I have had my dic system show me messages saying locked and my radio shuts off erratically and my ignition will shut off. Gm dealer will not accept responsibility, next I have had the message on my dic show no power steering and 3 out of the 4 times I have lost steering all together and luckily was backing out of driveway, had to shut car off and wait for system to give me back steering control. The 4th time I veered into a guard rail going about 25 mph and crunched my front passenger quarter panel when the ps assist failed and I had no steering. Again, shut car off and had to wait for system to reset and again had steering control. I am now having issues where my entire console in the vehicle is always hot to the touch and my ignition switch inside the car is extremely hot even right after the car is started. Gm will not address this issue either when I have contacted the dealer where I bought the vehicle. I am now having steering issues where my Malibu wants to go left when I am attempting to make a right turn and when making a left turn it wants to go way left all by itself. I have multiple recalls on this vehicle and to no avail they are not being addressed. I am wondering if I have to be in a worse crash and be injured severely or another person in order to get anyone to fix these issues or take this car back.

In June the drivers seat began listing to the right and rocking. The dealer looked at it and said it is a broken weld and quoted me $800. 00 to fix it. Then in sept of 2012 I was trying to maneuver out of a parking lot and the power steering locked up. It was really scary, it took all my might to get to a safe place to stop without hitting anyone. When I restarted it was okay and my mechanic did not see any obvious problem with it. Also the cd player no longer will load up cds although the other functions and info on the little screen work. Also the side mirrors no longer can be adjusted in the vertical plane although they still move horizontally.

I was driving on the higway. While driving on the highway at around 60 mile per hour the powersteering warning came onto the radio display. Shortly after the steering wheel became extremly hard to turn. I was able to pull over to the side of the road once I dont that the car cut off. I was towed to have the car looked at, once the car was looked at I had the alternator replaced. When I picked up the car from the place where it was serviced, while driving it home the car locked up again and I had to have it towed again to the place. Once at the place the problem was fixed and the car ran fine for two days. While driving to work once pulled in parking space the battery light came on again. Now I am afriad to drive it in feaer that it will happen again and cause an accident.

You have to bump the side of the dash or the area around the radio for it to switch back also there is a noise where the steering is that sounds like something is knocking around under the car, and my dash lights sometimes will wait until I have driven several blocks before they come on. The rattling or knocking noise that is heard in the front on the drivers side really bothers me that something is ready to fall off or break. In October of 2012 I also had to replace turn signal lamps on the driver side rear I wouldn't think they should go out that quick.

I was driving my car and the power steering lock up it was hard for me to turn and a display appear on my radio power steering so I took the car to the dealer and they diagnoised it stating that the power steering motor had went out and something about the steering column the shaft was bad this was in 2010. Again I was driving my car this is in 2014 the same thing happen I take the car to the same dealer and they diagnois it this time as a torque sensors but I new something was wrong they did not want the codes to be the same as before so they used another code which is the torque sensors. So I take the car to another chevy dealer and they diagnois the car and said the power steering motor is bad and the steering column is bad just like in 2010 and I no that this dealer is right because the car done the same thing as it did in 2014 as it did in 2010 the first dealer was trying to cover up that it was the same thing so they used different codes. I talk to gm and they agree with the first dealer and said there is nothing they can do I also wrote a letter to mary barra but I don't think she got it only the sec. I think its sad that they no that there's problem with these cars the 2007 Malibu and wont do anything about it.

The cd player is not working they have a cd stuck inside and it's making a clicking noise. I'm not sure what's the problem.

The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu. While washing the vehicle, the consumer noticed smoke and flames on the inside the vehicle. The consumer was able to put out the fire with a water hose. The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to determine the source of the fire and will not assume liability. The warranty is valid; however, the dealer is still unable to provide any assistance. The dealer also stated that the insurance company should assist him with repairing the vehicle. The vehicle has not been repaired. The current and failure mileage was 60000. Updated 08/12/08 the consumer stated the fire started from the speaker. Fuses had been blowing for the past two months. Updated 08/13/08.

When the brakes were applied, the brake pedal pulsated, which caused the consumer to experience extended stopping distance. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer for inspection and the mechanic determined that the brake caliper failed. The radio was inoperative.

Nothing but problems with this vehicle. Spends more time in the shop than on the road. Low miles due to afraid to drive it. Many other problems, I. E radio, glove box, etc.

Radio has been replaced, still will not pick up local stations, and a thumping noise is comming from my car. It's most noticeable at 35mph and under. Dealer replaced parts of suspension, diidn't help, and now they say thats all they can do. They have not bothered to see where the sound is coming from.

Cd player/radio failed.

2004 Malibu customer has had problems with loss of electric power steering and wants out of the lease without penalty* the radio was inoperative, the cruise control was inoperative at times, it would turn off, but not engage. The pcm was replaced. The passenger side directional lights and brake lights were inoperative. The dealer replaced the bulbs. The heated seats came on by themselves. The intermediate shaft was replaced, because the consumer stated there was a noise when turning the steering wheel. The transmission cooling lines were leaking, the rear defogger on the passenger side was inoperative. When the windshield wipers were on intermittent, they would go full speed by themselves.

The radio, left front speaker and cd player are defective. Nlm.
