Wiper Problems of Chevrolet Malibu - part 2

I have a 2012 chevy Malibu. Thus is my everyday vehicle and when I have headlight problems it is very frustrating. We have had the bumper off this car multiple times which is a real pain. We have changed headlights, wiring harness and even undoing the battery. The passenger light comes on for a bit them will go off and not come back on. I have a loan on this car and can't even get rid of it cause I can't keep the lights on. Worse chevy car I have ever owned. I have been pulled over for it being out and how am I supposed to explain it. Reading the reviews of this car online I am not the only person that has headlight problems.

Driver side low beam keeps shorting out even after replacing bulbs and harness. Windshield wipers bushing broke in middle of rainstorm on 6/7/19 in suffolk va on interstate 664 south bound.

Takata recall. After driving my Malibu for more than a quick drive around the block I noticed that my left eye was getting blurry and I seemed a little nauseous. The symptoms started every time I drive the vehicle. I noticed a distortion of the left side of the windshield that is causing the nausea. When looking through the windshield at oncoming traffic my view is distorted. The same as when I look the very right of the windshield. I took the car back to the dealership and drove another brand new Malibu for a day and had the same problem. At this point every time I drive the vehicle I get nauseated and have a small headache. Gm then decided to replace my windshield. I received a loner equinox to drive and had no issues. I drove a silverado for a few days with no problem. I traded in my old 2016 Malibu that had no issues. I have had countless friends drive my new Malibu and they all see the distortion. I have tried moving my seat, cleaning my windshield, putting a towel on my dashboard to remove glare and now another brand new windshield. I can't drive this car anymore. I drive twenty minutes to work and takes my brain another five minutes to readjust after I get out. I want my old car back. The distortion is a constant whether driving on highways, around the block, sunny or rainy days.

In 2016 the wiper motor went up and I had it replaced at a chevy dealership and again in 2019 the wiper motor went up again. I can load up the documents if needed.

The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated she was able to park on the side of the road and noticed the sunroof housing front drain house had mold and was disconnected. I purchased the car March 14, 2019 from a family member. The front passenger low beam headlight was not working. The prior owner stated they had taken the car in to have the light repaired at least 6 times in since 2009. April 2, 2019 I took the car to clint newell Chevrolet to have the low beam headlight fixed. The problem was the wire that plugs into the light was melted. The repair cost was $172. 33. On April 4, 2019 the rear passenger turn signal quit working. I replaced the bulb. April 9, 2019 the passenger tail light quit working. April 11, 2019 I replaced the bulb. As soon as that was done the front passenger low beam headlight quit working again. I checked the low beam fuse and it was fine. I cannot afford 172. 00 again 9 days later for this repair. I have also found online in chevy forums, this seems to be a problem for many people that own Chevrolet Malibus.

Noticed shaking in the steering while driving. Had aligned 3 times once at a different shop. Has new tires. Tires are now cupped and will wear unevenly. Steering wheel still shakes and car feels like it's being pushed from side to side. Heater core is now bad and it's not even 3 years old. All windows fogged up including front windshield and can smell coolant when the heat is on. Windows begin to fog up driving in town and then completely fog up highway driving.

The was vehicle in the process of repairing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opens a case number: 95058953731. The approximate failure mileage was 37,100. Aw.

Heat intermittently does not blow through the defrost causing the windows to fog and decrease visibility.

My defroster stopped working on my 2015 Chevrolet Malibu making it difficult to see out of the windshield while driving, when I turn on front window defrost it blows out of the front vents and no air comes out of my defrost. It's a headache and I feel a hazard to try to drive without this, I usually have to roll down my side windows to get anywhere with visibility. It doesn't matter if I am parked, driving, etc. It just does not work at all ever and it's scary to drive with this issue. My vehicle has 77,000 miles on it so I feel this problem should not be occuring.

Passenger seat sensor causes electrical components inside vehicle to be disabled. Heat and air conditioning do not function and temporary loss of power occurs. This occurs while vehicle is in motion and while stationary.

Front right passenger door hits the back right passenger door causing damage to the back passenger door exterior moldings. Front defroster does not work when put on, blows alot out of front vents instead.

With 2015 Malibu stationary, overnight experienced loss of battery charge and wold not start. Upon recharge, it will now start. However, the hvac control is now inoperative. The hvac system still runs with the last settings it had. This is very similar to recall 13v567000 (Chevrolet 13380) that applied to 2014 model Chevrolets. It is a safety issue because one can no longer set the windshield to defrost for winter driving. Furthermore, this belongs to a chain of electrical issues the car has had - loss of battery charge on 4 occasions, engine stoppage after hard braking on two occasions with warning message to check abs system, intermittent loss of center console display panel. Obviously, if the engine stops in the middle of traffic after hard braking, this is also a safety issue. Dealer has replaced both rear battery and forward battery, however, the problem diagnosis has clearly not been done.

This vehicle has started up and stop on it's on while driving sitting at a red light also the pedal is getting air through it and the reduce engine light continues to come on.

The windshield wipers stop for no apparent reason on the low setting. They will make approximately one full pass to clear the windshield and the stop halfway through the second in the middle of the windshield. This makes it difficult to see while driving in inclimate weather.

Hvac system malfunction. Climate control does not switch to defrost and windshield will not clear in winter weather. While driving on a freeway in a snow storm, I could not see through the windshield and had to pull over. I was able to deflect the warm air from the front vents to the windshield with a hat to clear the frost.

Front defroster stopped working no matter what button is switched it will not switch to defrost. Seems it is the same reacurring problem on 2013 models as the 2014 models so why are the 2013 models not included???.

Back windshield shattered while sitting still.

All windows get extremely foggy & visibility is poor & I can barely see.

Windshield wiper transmission has quit 2 times in 2 1/2 years. The wiper arms can be moved by hand with no resistance. Both times in heavy rain going over 55mph in the dark leaving me with no way to see the road. I had to stop quick to get on the shoulder of the road. The first time I almost got rear ended. 1st time was 12/3/15 this time was 8/17/18. I had it fixed a gm dealer that just happened to be close for $366 the first time-now again???? the equinox had a recall on this I was told. Its crazy the Malibu was not included.

Driver side headlight malfunctioning multiple times in past year. Head light will go out, at first could tap on head light and it would come back on. Have changed pigtail and bulbs only to have it work for a short period of time.

Trunk leaks when it rains. The plastic between the back window and ceiling lets water in when it rains. It allows moisture to get into the vehicle, which means in the winter ice forms on the inside of the windshield as well as the outside. Rain and moisture getting into the car has also caused a problem with the back speakers not working.

I went inside a car wash and when my car was been wash the water was getting inside from the back roof next to the back window I told the dealer but they want me to pay for a diagnostic when it has something to do with the car issue. My water pump is not working can not use it in case of an emergency on the road can not clean it using my windshield wipers.

Leak through 3rd break light causes moisture to build up in car and once it rains the front windshield fogs up and can you can not see defrost cannot fix this issue because of the build up of moisture from the leak in through the 3rd brake light.

I have had my car for 10 months and went to start it on 5/31/18 and there was no hvac at all. I tried turning the car off and restarting it but to no avail. Eventually it did come back on a few days later but it is happening intermittently. Living in s. Florida it gets very humid and when it rains the windshield steams up so you have to run the ac. At this point I have to pull over or open all the windows which soaks my interior. My husband has a heart condition and I am very afraid taking him to his appointments. I went online and researched the problem and it appears it has been going on since 2013 but no recalls have been made. It has been mentioned by some that it is a software problem that can be done by the dealer but no dealer will take care of it without charging me. I do not want to take it anywhere else for fear of someone missing up the computer all together. Please help! this is as bad as driving with no wipers. They should have done a recall with as many complaints that I have seen online alone.

I was driving on the highway at 65mph with the sun roof tilted up when it suddenly exploded. Nothing hit the glass. I was not around any trucks or overpasses. Glass shards carpeted the vehicle interior. There were no injuries. It was a sunny day and the temperature was 68 degrees.

If I change the settings of my defrost or heat/ac at all, the blower stops working. It will then come back on randomly in 10 mins or an hour or days. While driving I won't be able to defrost my windshield at all. My dealer reset the computer (March) and it was fine but now has started again. Now it is back to just not turning on randomly. My VIN is not apart of the recall?.

The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the driver side turn signal would not work, the windows would intermittently operate and the head lights would shut off. The cause of the failures were not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The local dealer hefner motors in batesville, ms was notified. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 20,000. Jft.

Tl the contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. After leaving a car wash, water entered the vehicle where the quarter panel glass, rear windshield, and plastic column connected. Additionally, there was water in the interior of the vehicle and trunk. The contact called a local dealer (bocker auto group, 801 e south st, freeport, IL 61032) and was informed to schedule a service appointment with the glass service. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened case number: 8-3935847660. The failure mileage was 43,032.

Both headlamps have gone out within a nine month period. The driver side has been changed twice, the passenger side once. It seems every three months a headlight burns out on my car. As for the wipers, when they are turned on, they swipe halfway and stop until I turn them off and back on or to a higher swiping speed. This has happened as the vehicle was in park and drive. Also, the key fob battery has been replaced twice and works seldomly. The locks have recently starting locking on their own after the vehicle is shut off and the driver door is shut.

On my wiper system I was traveling in a rainstorm and the wiper transmission separated from the motor assembly at the piece attached to the motor halting the wiper assembly from clearing the window this almost caused a crash do to lack of visibility . This occurred on 2/7/2017 . Very dangerous situation please address this part malfunction, it should never separate.
