Brake Antilock Wheel Speed Sensor problems of the 2006 Chevrolet Silverado

Three problems related to brake antilock wheel speed sensor have been reported for the 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brake Antilock Wheel Speed Sensor problem

Failure Date: 06/22/2013

Brake line has completely deteriorated and leaking and should be recalled. Recently had to replace wheel speed sensors as well.

2 Brake Antilock Wheel Speed Sensor problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2010

Abs activates at low speeds. Dealer states nothing can be done to permanently resolve the issue. Nov 2009 (13000 miles)had the speed sensor replaced. Oct 2010 front brakes replaces(22000 miles) now December 2010 with 24000 miles happening again.

3 Brake Antilock Wheel Speed Sensor problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2009

2006 chevy Silverado truck with 9480 miles. When coming to a slow stop abs system on right side would engage under normal stopping and cause truck to lurch. Problem was a cracked speed sensor on that side - replaced part, normal braking returned.
