While driving about 35 mph vehicle just died. Problem was due the fuel tank sending unit which shorted out. A mechanic stated that the truck could have exploded due to the burnt connector touching the fuel. Dealer was called about the problem. T ruck was repaired at owner's expense.
Wiring harness connected to fuel pump within the fuel tank burned up due to fuel pump failure. Incident could have led to a vehicle explosion. Asking NHTSA help in this matter.
Fuel pump broke, causing vehicle to have a no start condition. Dealer cannot determine the problem. Please provide further information.

Owner has a hard time starting vehicle. Owner has to throw gasoline in the throttle body in order to start. Dealer says vehicle needs new fuel pump.
The fuel pump wiring heated up, which caused the pump to fail.
Fuel sending unit has an electrical shortage which causes fuel pump to burn. Please give any further details.
