Chevrolet Silverado owners have reported 8 problems related to other fuel system pump (under the other fuel system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 08/27/2019

Fuel injector or fuel pump does not work properly. On two (2) different occasions, months apart, my engine has lost power and the vehicle stalled. Both times at low speeds 10 - 15 mph and low rpms. This has nearly caused me to crash into one vehicle and for another to almost hit me from behind as my car died while making a right hand turn off a busy road. I have had the vehicle towed in twice, but the dealership and gm both say unless they can duplicate the issue they will not fix or replace anything. This vehicle is unsafe and needs to be recalled/reviewed. On top of this, they had to replace the vacuum pump for the brakes and do a software patch update because the backup camera was dangerously bright, especially at night. The camera issue took 2 visits to 2 different dealerships to get resolved. Gm is playing the numbers game of hoping for a fine instead of paying to replace any parts. Especially since they are dealing with a pr battle about making cars outside of the USA. They took the bailout money and screwed americans.

5 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 09/20/2014

Tank was filled to less than 1/2 tank and after stopping at location and restarting vehicle. Fuel level read empty. Fuel levels and computer system not accurate. Multiple occurrences. I did speak with the dealership and they "think" it could be the fuel pump. It has been doing this since the initial purchase. New vehicle status.

6 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 07/20/2013

Recently, my vehicle has had a hard time starting. I took my vehicle to the local Chevrolet dealership to have it inspected/diagnosed. I was informed that my fuel pump/filter combo as well as all the injectors needed to be replaced and would cost me just under $6000. 00 for the repair. It has come to my attention today after researching that this is and has been a known issue to the point that gm issued a service bulletin to repair this problem and modified the bulletin to extend the time frame and/or total mileage, but that time extension has expired before my vehicle developed the same issue that the bulletin addresses. With such a wide spread problem such as the nature of this magnitude, why does this not fall under a mandatory recall from NHTSA? I use my vehicle for only weekend recreation, and as such, I only have 42k miles on my vehicle, and for an engine that I paid a premium for, I think that it is just plain wrong to expect to pay such an outrageous bill for an engine that is advertised as a 'tough, long-lasting engine'. Nhtsa should force gm to address this issue, because there are many like me out there, and I truly believe that is is a safety issue for the people like me that own these vehicles.
