1 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 01/22/2016

Fuel leaking from engine. With 9595 miles on the engine the truck leaks fuel from the engine like crazy. Vehicle is 6 months old. Can't get chevy to pickup the rig because they say I need to call the fire department - the fire department tells me there is nothing they can do - been battling with chevy all day on this. Its a safety hazard cabin smells like the inside of a gas tank - I don't feel save driving it anywhere.

3 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 09/15/2015

Fuel leaking/spraying out of the rear auxiliary fuel tank. I noticed a strong smell of raw gasoline coming from the rear of the vehicle. Upon further inspection I observed the raw fuel was coming out of the fuel module connecting fuel line. The metal fuel line sits in a well of the rear tank and was completely covered with dirt/moisture/raw fuel. The tank was removed and we immediately noticed that the metal portion of the fuel module metal piping was rusted thru and that was where the raw fuel was being sprayed/pooling in the well area. The design of the fuel tank & module creates a perfect location for dirt/moisture to accumulate. Any type of ignition source could have caused a catastrophic fire and possible explosion. The removed original fuel module was in perfect working condition except for the rotted metal portion of the module. I replaced the rotted fuel module with a new gm oem fuel module. This new module has the same exact construction as the original part. Since there is no possible way to clean or keep clean the well area of the tank, I can only assume the new oem part will deteriorate in the same manner. The vehicle had about 34000 miles on it when the condition occurred. Since it is out of warranty the new module costs for labor and parts was in excess of $1000. 00. In conclusion I think this matter should be investigated further because it is obviously a safety hazard involving raw fuel being ejected from the fuel tank under pressure while the pump is running.

5 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 10/04/2014

On oct 4th, 2014 I was traveling from san angelo, TX to san antonio, TX, in my 2011 3500 Chevrolet diesel pickup, pulling our 5th wheel camper. When I neared junction, TX I could smell an odor of fuel. On I-10 eb mile 456, I noticed that my fuel gauge was rapidly dropping. When I left junction, the gauge read half full. At mile marker 497, I pulled into a rest stop, because the fuel gauge had dropped to the empty mark. I got out of the truck and could see the diesel pouring off the bottom of the motor. When the dripping stopped I attempted to start the truck, but it would not start. The starter motor was running, but the fuel tank was completely empty. In that distance the truck should have used five gallons of diesel pulling the trailer. Which means that about 14 gallons were dumped onto the highway within 40 miles. My truck was towed to cecil atkission Chevrolet in kerrville, TX. The diesel technician there told me that mine would be the 4th diesel he recently worked on with a similar issue. He even showed me another diesel truck that he was currently working on, also with a fuel leak.

6 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 09/01/2014

Shortly after starting truck and departing to local store I noticed a strong fuel odor. After driving approximately 3-4 miles my gas tank went from 3/4 full to nearly empty, around the same time passerby's started flagging me down stating that my truck was leaking fuel and smoking from underneath. I immediately pulled over to closest parking lot to realize the truck was massively leaking fuel from different areas and was indeed smoking as if it was about to catch fire. I turned the truck off and moved away. The fuel leak stopped and the smoke eventually dissipated. It was been towed back to dealer by Chevrolet road side and is currently being checked for the problem.

7 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 08/12/2014

Gas mileage complaint . Stated mileage (hwy ) is 22 mpg , the first six monthes of driving did achieve this stated mileage ,occasionally as much as 23 mpg . After 2 recall service visits and an oil change , the mileage abruptly dropped to 18 mpg I complained to chev. Service in cottage grove ,or several times over the course of 4 monthes they advised me to change fuel (service stations ,) put a fuel booster additive in the tank ,check tire pressure . They also stated that the fuel mnfrs. Changing the fuel blend for the winter season may be the cause. No service codes in the computer . None of the suggested "fixes" have changed the mileage ,still at around 18 mpg . Something caused this sudden drop in mpg . I have a couple of ideas , 1. One recall was a computer software upgrade ,wrong shift parameters installed ? 2. At prescribed oil changes ,06/03/14 &12/18/14 , ( truck requires dexos 0-20 oil ) maybe wrong oil was installed ? one invoice shows 5w-30 was installed . However dealership denies installing wrong oil . How can I have the oil analyzed to determine which is in the truck ?.

9 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 12/08/2011

Everytime I go to the pump it kicks out like the tank is full. If you hold the nozzle as its barely coming out it will work normal but you cant even use the lowest notch on the pump to set it on to pump gas, it wont work. So it needs to be fixed and I've told the chevy dealer about it and they said there is nothing wrong with it and no recall. Im trying to make it a recall now so it will be fixed.
