Dealer keeps rebalancing the tires and this does not correct the problem. The pickup will be in the dealer's shop again this week, only this time they are looking for drivetrain problems. 55 Tire problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 07/01/2001

Brought truck into auto dealership and firestone dealership, and both told me that my tire is delaminating. Both told me this is from driving with a flat tire. This tire has never been flat, nor has it ever been low. This is the second issue I have had with the firestone tires on this truck. (tiresize: p265/75r).

56 Tire problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 05/30/2001

I was in the idaho mountains on a day trip when both rear firestone at tires went flat. I changed the most flat of the two and made it into a town on the spare and a flat tire. I put air in the flat tire and made it home. I contacted gm and they told me that the firestone at tires on their trucks were different than on fords and that their's were safe (yea right). I went to a tire retailer in my area and had all the firestone wilderness at tires (including the spare) removed from my truck and new tires (not firestone) installed. The tire installer verified that the problem was tread separation. I just wanted to ask you to please recall these killer tires. I was lucky and didn't kill myself and my family on our outing because of them. All it cost me was $500. 00 for new tires to replace the garbage firestone wilderness at tires that Chevrolet installed on my truck. (tiresize: p26575r16).

59 Tire problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 03/30/2001

The tire size is lt245/75r16. There wasn't enough room to fit it all in the space provided. After changing the tire, I found that a lug in the tread was torn from the tire with a one inch tear. It was not a straight line, and it followed the contour of the side of the lug. This told me that nothing punctured the tire. I haven't contacted firestone yet. I have the tire and don't want to give it up. I have been displeased with having these tires on my truck, but the dealer wouldn't replace them. Now I've had a failure and I know you have been investigating these tires, and I want to add my name to the list of people with problems, with the hope that I can get all five of my tires replaced. I also am hoping that something can be done that will keep people from getting hurt by these tires. Thank you for your time. David c. Bray. (dot number: vn11bad160 tiresize: lt24575r16).

Tire was routinely inspected and kept inflated at factory recommended level of 35psi. Tire had experienced no prior puncture or other damage. Tires started making an unusual noise when driving at highway speed. Due to recent recalls, I purchased new tires at a cost of $750. Please advise me if these tires are recalled or begin to fail others. ( dot number: w273wmr129 tire size: p265/75r16 ).

69 Tire problem of the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 08/07/2000

While driving from home (mesa az) to milwaukee WI, I noticed a once per revolution thump and upon inspection I found a three inch crack at the outer circumference of the right front tire at the steel belt line. The crack was beginning to progress outward radially into the actual tread at the trailing edge of the crack. A local firestone dealer (Dodge city tire center (316) 225-9090, exchanged the tire with a new for cost of balancing only. The claim number was 7797436 which the dealer promised me that they would send the tire to firestone with that number attached so it could be traced. I believe that I saved firestone a damage repair which should allow them to replace the rest of the tires in question on my vehicle. Local dealership in flint michigan refused to do anything. ( dot number: w273wmb169 tire size: p265-75r16 ).

70 Tire problem of the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado
