One problem related to brake popping noise has been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Metallic brake lines rusted out. Complete loss of brakes. Fortunately I was in my driveway getting ready to leave & heard a slight popping noise & lost ability to stop. Got out & brake fluid all over driveway. . Unable to add photos,truck was towed to service station immediately afterwards.
