Brake Electric Antilock problems of the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact when braking from various speeds, the anti-lock braking system independently would engage and the brake pedal and front of the vehicle would vibrate excessively. The contact was able to locate a recall for the failure and inquired with the manufacturer about NHTSA recall campaign id number: 05v379000 (service brakes, hydraulic:antilock). The manufacturer advised his VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 115,000 and the current mileage was 130,000.

We have replaced 2 bumpers and now looking at a 3rd one.

Just before coming to a complete stop the abs on my 2000 Chevrolet silverado activates and will not allow the vehicle to come to a stop. Often times it will occur at stop lights or pulling into parking stalls.

Upon entering parking space at work abs system came on for no reason causing vehicle to lunge forward threw fence.

The contact felt that his vehicle should be included. The current and failure mileages were 233,400.

Abs would release the brakes when attempting to stop; covered under recall 05v37900 in three of four surrounding states.
