Dash board cracks have occurred at approximately 75k miles at the corner of passenger airbag and over instrument cluster. These are fairly common for a multi-year group of gm vehicles and was involved in a now dismissed class action suit. It may/may not eventually affect the instrument cluster, and may/may not affect passenger airbag deployment. It may/may not result in further injury if dash comes apart in accident. Cost to replace at local dealer is approximately $800 for parts and labor. Not covered by original manufacturer warranty due to mileage or comprehensive extended warranty currently in force. Planning to replace but not happy about it. Gm should have recalled or offer to at least split costs.

My dash started a small crack by the passenger airbag. It's a very common issue between 07-13 gm trucks and suvs. They seem to randomly crack I had mine crack overnight. It makes a horrible vibration sound while driving it's kind off annoying to drive now.
The passenger side dashboard is cracking above the airbag.

My dash is cracked in multiple places and completely broken apart in some spots. I have managed to install a dash cover but I feel with this being such a common issue and a potential safety issue gm should be held accountable.

The dash above the steering wheel cracked on 12/4/2019, now making a rattling noise. The crack now is going to expand due to vibration and it could effect the drivers side airbag down the line.
First off the brakes have failed on me a bunch of times. I brought it to the dealer before the recalls started and they said it was normal. The problem got worse causing two low speed accidents with no damage but scary. Note I have two kids in the car. Been in for multiple recalls. One accident happened in a drive thru and one in my driveway. Both were front end collisions but no damage. Second the truck shakes at higher speeds. Starting at 24mph up to 80. My kids teeth shatter in the back. That's how bad it is. Dealers said there is no fix for that so I started by re balancing my tires and after that didn't work I got new tires. Still have the issue and its more of a headache to bring it into the dealer cause they don't want to fix it or can't. Currently on 40,000 miles on my truck and already had a multitude of issues with oil pump failure, steering column replaced due to moving horizontal. Seat issues they couldn't fix so had to replace the bracket and brakes are ongoing.

Vehicle dash cracked around passenger side airbag. Took vehicle into dealership advised not under any warranty or recalls. Worried in the event of a collision pieces may become flying objects in the event of air bag deployment.
Dash cracked approximately 3. Very low miles, vehicle has always been garaged.
Dash board cracked as apparently many others have. Not that many miles on it.

Cracked dash. Lifter from 8 to 4 cylinder break down. 4000 fix.
My dash has cracked on 2 corners near the air bag.
A/c failure due to cracks in condenser weldments. Ac starts blowing warm air, compressor cycles continuously, notice the absence of the cooling fan noise. Added one 12oz can r134a, 1 oz pag oil, brought line pressures back> LS-40-45psi/ hs>230-250psi, vent temp on max-38 deg. Lasts about a week.

I was driving on the highway for approximately 1 hour/75 miles. I pulled over to clean out my truck. I parked in a vacant parking lot. The truck's engine was running, the vehicle was in park. It was parked at the top of a hill. I got out of the drivers compartment, and walked around behind to the passenger's side, and cleaned out some trash. I then walked back around to the rear drivers side door, and removed more trash. I walked about 15-25 feet away, to put the trash in the garbage can. The truck made a weird chirp-chirp-chirp alarm/electrical type noise, and then drove backwards. The reverse lights were on. I ran after the truck, the drivers door was locked. I pushed the unlock button on the door and hopped up on the running board. I opened the drivers door and jumped in, and slammed on the brakes. I stopped the truck, literally one foot from going over an 8 foot concrete embankment. I am really terrified by what happened. It was in park. It has that new system where the keys stay in your pocket and everything is push button (start, unlock) the vehicle's column shifter was still in park when I stopped the truck. Photos: 1. ) this is the hill, and space I was parked in. 2. ) these are my tire tracks, my trucks tires hit that sheet metal, and you can see the approximate 8 foot drop with the dumpsters. 3. ) this shows the concrete speed bump thing that my truck backed over when it was rolling out of control this should not have been mechanically possible. If it was in park it can't happen (theoretically) if it was in reverse, it would have backed up immediately after letting my foot off the brake. If it had been in neutral, it would have drifted backwards immediately due to the grade of the hill. If it had been in drive or low, it would have moved forward, or stayed still.

The dash surrounding the passenger airbag is cracking in the upper corners. Also it's cracking in front of the driver side. An accident could lead to pieces of the dash breaking and causing injury or death to passengers.
The dash in my 2013 silverado is cracking, I am concerned about safety if I was to be involved in an accident with deployed airbags.
The dashboard is cracking around the passenger airbag.
Dashboard is cracked in multiple places, potentially representing a safety threat if the passenger air bag deploys.
Cracked weld in ac condenser. Has happened to numerous gm pickups and SUV's in this year.
My dashboard is severely cracked in 2 places. By the passenger airbag and the steering column.
I have 2 large cracks on my dash panel. One is near the dash mounted air bag, and the second is running above my instrument panel. These cracks developed over time. I have found out that this is a common issue with my vehicle. Chevrolet refused to cover the issue under warranty, even after I showed them how wide spread this issue is among Chevrolet vehicles.
Dash on vehicle is cracked, as it gets colder it continues to get worse causing crack to the point of the dash falling apart as driving.
The dash is cracked in several places including around the airbag compartment. The cracking happened spontaneously for no apparent reason and has steadily gotten worse.
My dashboard has cracks on the driver side and passenger side. The one on the passenger side affects the airbag and the one on the driver side has a run that won't stop.
The warning lights for stability and traction have come on. The dashboard is cracking badly and pieces are falling off.
Dashboard cracked at passenger airbag area when truck had less than 25,000. Chevrolet replaced it under warranty. At about 100,000 the dashboard cracked in the same exact location. Concerned that because of the location of the crack it may effect the passenger airbag. Everyone I know with this truck in the 2011 - 2012 models has the same exact crack in the same exact location.
The dash on my silverado has significant crack. So many cracks portions of the dash can almost be removed. The noise is distracting, the potential flying objects that could become airborn in an accident are very concerning.
Transmission dipstick broke at the bracket.
The dashboard in my pickup has cracked from one side to the other and I am afraid that if I am in an accident that there will be airborne pieces of plastic that will become a hazard.
The dashboard has a crack on the passenger side where the airbag cutout is. I believe this is a major safety issue. Especially if you're in an accident and the airbag deployed there will be pictures of dash board shards fiying through the air and possibly into the occupants with force from the airbag.
Austin, TX 2nd time ac goes out, truck has 67,000 miles. Previous failure (Nov, 2016 @ 39378 miles) was due to faulty line/design in refrigerant discharge hose. Had repaired by dealer and bracket installed. Sept. 2018, after leaving truck parked for several days while traveling, experienced warm air blowing out of vents upon return. Working with dealer to resolve, for the 2nd time.
