The contact owns a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30-40 mph, the liftgate opened unexpectedly. The contact pulled over to the right side of the road, exited the vehicle, and closed the liftgate; however, the failure persisted. There was no warning light illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed; however, the diagnostic result was unknown. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 5,070.

2 Hatchback/liftgate problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 06/25/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. When there is any interior pressure on the liftgate and when opening and closing the liftgate, it would fall out. The dealer stated that the liftgate was designed in this manner and there was no defect. The manufacturer did not provide any assistance. The failure mileage was 2,500 and current mileage was 6,800.
