Numerous incidents while driving and making a turn into a public parking lot from a 55 mph hwy, all power went off, engine died and just before this steering was very hard to turn, stabil track light has been coming on. Gm dealer stated maybe bad battery, I had the new battery checked and it is good.

Driving back from the holidays in another state. Stop to get gas, I check tire pressure and put fuel additive in the fuel tank. I get back on the highway, going the speed limit which is 75 mph. All of a sudden the steering gets tight as I was next to a rolling semi . I stop at a rest area to see if I can find any visible problems but I could not. At lower speeds the problem seemed to be worse. High speeds the steering was tight and trying to switch lanes it almost feels like the steering locked. About 25 miles later the problem. Seemed to be better but eventually came back and the next day it was bad again. The highway I was on (i20) was recently re done so it was smooth road. I've done research and can only assume it has something to do with the eps system.

Pulling out of a gas station onto a highway my dash display showed "service power steering drive with care" I noticed I had no power assist to my steering and the steering was extremely hard to steer at best. I also received the message "service ecs" at this point I had little control of the direction the vehicle was going and managed to pull over. I also noticed the following functions stopped working, cruise control, traction control, lane assist, auto stop, etc. I let the vehicle sit about 20 minutes and restarted. No errors remained and I went on my way. Scary situation to be in on a highway.

My steering wheel is hard to move and the a/c does not work.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the steering wheel was extremely tight when turning it in either direction. The dealer (kingman Chevrolet Buick, 3730 stockton hill rd, kingman, az 86409, 928-757-4041) diagnosed that a part on the middle shaft deteriorated and caused the u joint to fail. The contact stated that the u joint was freezing and lacked lubrication, which caused the steering failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN and failure mileage were not available. *.
Took truck in for vehicle inspection. Truck failed inspection due to leaking steering gear. The dealer said I would have to replace the steering gear $800 and then the truck would pass inspection . This truck has 14000 miles on it . A search online reported a recall because of the tie rod going into the steering box was not tight enough causing damage to gear box . Dealer was suppose to fix at no charge this problem.
