Since I bought the truck new I have been experiencing vibration in steering and cab of truck. Been in the dealer 5 times for this problem. Repairs included 14 set of tires , balance drive shaft, replaced ring and pinion in differential, installed hydraulic bushings in steering rack . The truck still vibrates. This is a concern in safety if you dont know what the problem is how can you say its not a safety issue. Very displeased with general motors . There is alot of complaints about this issue and should be looked at more carefully.

My 2005 chevy silverado had a clunking noise in the steering. The dealer replaced the intermediate shaft but this didn't fix it. This went on for months. Just prior to the warranty running out I convinced the dealers mechanic that the problem was in the rack-n-pinion assembly. They replaced it under warranty and that solved the problem.

Intermediate steering shaft noise caused by wear or bad part design by g. M. In my opinion I think this wear could lead to a steering failure which is not g. M. 's opinion.
