Tl the contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet silverado. The contact stated while driving in reverse down a hill there was an abnormal popping noise detected. The contact depressed the brakes however they were soft and failed to respond. The accelerator pedal was depressed but failed to respond. The emergency brake was engaged however, failed to respond. The contact crashed into the mountain. There were no warning lights illuminated. There were no reported injuries. The vehicle was restarted and worked as designed. An independent mechanic test drove the vehicle but was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted however no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 126,047.
