Instrument panel failure in 2004 chevy Silverado 2500hd the panel is required by law isn't ? chevy is very unco-operative with this if you have over 70,000 miles but as far as my experience goes you can and will get a ticket for an inop speedo. Mine will hang up past 120mph and even when not running the rpm will read 4500. This is absolutely a safety issue and chevy should eat the replacement cost of $450. 00.
