2 Noises During Shifting problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 08/10/2019

Transmission was shifting roughly both in accelerating and decelerating conditions. So rough that movement within the vehicle was experienced by driver and passengers. When the vehicle was undergoing braking and decelerating conditions the vehicle would also make noise as shifts occurred in the transmission (loud banging or knocking sounds were heard). The vehicle was maintained according to manufacturers recommendation. Eventually the transmission experienced more unsafe conditions when gears would not engage during acceleration. The vehicle would roll backwards on inclined surfaces for several inches to several feet before transmission engagement. If traffic was behind on any incline the driver would have to use brake to prevent rolling backward and making impact with vehicle behind.

3 Noises During Shifting problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 01/16/2010

My 2005 Suburban chev. Has 46,000 and the transmission will not shift between 3rd and 4th gear. The dealer said this is fairly normal to happen. It is not included in the power train warranty. The cost to repair is $3000. 00 to $4000. 00. The car started making an awful noise, the instrument panel said transmission hot. When I pushed on the accelerator the car would not go it just made an awful noise. Thank god I was on a road I could pull over on. The car had to be towed in to the dealer. I have a $50,000 car that can't be driven. Is this a common problem to 2005 Suburban?.

5 Noises During Shifting problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 10/31/2000

The transmission shifted very hard and make a loud "clunking" noise when shifting into forward gears after about the first 100 miles. It was taken in twice while still under warranty and I was told there was nothing wrong with it. The third time I took it in it was getting extremely bad, it was now out of warranty, and I was told I needed a new transmission. The front end has been aligned twice within 15,000 miles and still pulls hard to the right. The abs system has failed periodically over a six month period of time - it was reported three times. The third time they finally discovered that the sensor module on the front hub was defective.

6 Noises During Shifting problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 08/05/1999

While stopping, applying brake, heard a clunk noise and felt a jarring. After parking, tried to put into reverse and could not. Was able to drive forward but heard a grinding noise. Now unable to get into gear and it does not shift. No reverse. The brake problem became apparent with a grinding noise while moving through stop and go traffic. Failed calipers and resulting in damaged rotors and pads.
