Vehicle had 14,000 miles and tires were rotated by dealership twice, last one 3 weeks ago. Was driving 55 mph and had a sudden complete deflation and stopped immediately. Tire is completely separated. The outer sidewall is completely separated from the rest of the tire. The tire has never had an injury or other issues. The tire rotation was at gerry lane Chevrolet in baton rouge, la. I took the tire in the same day to gerry lane Chevrolet service department and they were not helpful. They did not even look at the tire. I am having all 4 tires replaced tomorrow at costco and will keep the damaged tire and 3 others for any forensic evaluation by your department or designate. I am concerned that this maybe the canary in the coal mine and if there is a manufacturing defect other lives may be at risk. Look forward to urgent follow up. Continental tire has had similar problems with sudden blowouts. 14000 miles properly maintained.

Michelin ltx m/s2 size 275/55r20. I purchased a set of 4 new tires on June 26, 2015 from national tire and battery. Two of the 4 tires were manufactured in 2013. Weeks 28 and 31. The other 2 tires were manufactured in 2015. The two tires made in 2013 are experiencing the tread coming off, peeling, and chunks missing out of the tread. These are not in the michelin ltx recall by a few weeks. The 2015 tires are fine. How they are allowed to sell 2 year old tires as new is beyond me but these old tires are not safe in my opinion.

I purchased a 2022 Chevrolet Suburban on December 6, 2022 equipped with4 bridgestone alenza a/s 02 tires sized 275 50r22. On December 21, on my way home I hit a bump. When I got home I could audibly hear air leaking out of the passenger rear tire. I called onstar who sent a tow truck driver out to put the spare on. We could not find a nail or anything in the tire but there was about a 1. 5 inch crack in the sidewall about 1 inch away from the rim with nothing sticking in it. I took it to the dealership where I purchased the tire and they ordered a replacement tire. They said that I could file a complaint with the state department of transportation if I wanted. It cost me about $328 to repair. On February 12, around 9:00 pm, I was about an hour and a half away from home about to drive back when the tire sensor light came on saying the passenger rear tire had low air pressure. I pulled into a park and went to look and I again could audibly hear air leaking from the tire. I had not hit any bumps this time, but the tire was completely flat within 20 minutes. When the tow truck driver came to put the spare on, I explained to him what happened previously and that was the second time this had happened within 2 months of purchasing the vehicle. He looked at the tire with me and it had the same tear in the sidewall in the same location as the previous tire. There was no nail or object in the tire, just a 1. 5 inch long rigid crack. I noticed that there had been a bridgestone recall for this type of tire for size 275 55r20 in 2021 because of a pin hole in the sidewall. I believe that my tires are defective.

While driving at about 45 the tire went flat. The tire had several cracks around the shoulder and appears several were getting ready to chunk off. A couple appear to go all the way through the tire causing the air loss.

We went on vacation and got a hole in the tread of the front passenger side tire on June 3, 2008. We got it replaced, and blew out the front driver's side tire on June 5, 2008. We got two new tires and put them on the rear and moved the old tires to the front. On June 18, 2008 we got another hole in the driver's side tire. We got rid of the first two tires, but still have the two we moved to the front.
The treadwalls on the outside of the tire at the top slits and loss air. This is unrepairable. This is the 2nd of 4 tires with the same issue. The 1st we were standing outside and the truck was parked and we heard a pop and then heard air coming from the tire. This time we were traveling and the instrument panel sensed the loss of air and alerted me and we pulled off the interstate just in time to avoid an unforeseen accident. I had 8 people including myself in the vehicle at this time.
The bridgestone dueler h/t tires have been known to have wear (vibration) issues, due to the tires being a softer tire, according to many Chevrolet and GMC service managers that I have called. I received two tires, balancing/rotation free, but I had to buy two as well. I feel since gm dealerships know about this issue, they should send out a recall. I have had my tires balanced and rotated many times (about every 3,000 miles), but the owners manual states every 5000 - 8000 miles. Even-though there is a problem, they wouldn't pay due to my vehicle had too many miles (35,600) on it, but what they won't admit is that fact that I've had to pay extra money for additional balance and rotations. If there is a known issue, there should have been a recall; even-though that may cost them money, but it's gm's responsibility and that will cost them customers in the future!!.
Contact stated when he took the vehicle to the dealer for routine services the mechanic found that 2 front tires were worn out because the idler arm and the pitman shaft needed to be replaced . The vehicle was repaired at no cost to consumer because the vehicle was still under warranty. Updated 12/27/05.

I recently purchased a 2003 chevy Suburban equiped with factory installed wrangler at 265/70/17 tires. While towing a boat in a snow squall,I lost all traction on an overpass resulting in the loss of the boat, motor and trailer upside down in a ditch. Fortunately the vehicle and we survived, but the $15,000 boat was a total loss. Also while backing down a boat ramp that was slippery,we almost ended up in the river as we slid most of the way down the ramp. After I exited the vehicle,it slid another 5 feet only stopping when it hit the sand at the water's edge. After putting large stones behind the rear wheels,we were able to get the boat on the trailer, only to experience no traction at all even in four wheel drive while trying to get up the ramp. After much tire spinning we were finally able to inch our way up the ramp. We seemed to be only ones having this much traction problems as a few vehicles launched and retrieved boats after us with little difficulty. These tires make no sense on a vehicle that spends the majority of the time on the highway and not in a mud hole, the traction seems to disappear on wet or slippery surfaces. I had two sets of firestone steelflex tires on my previous Suburban and never once had problems with traction like I do now.
My vehicle, a 2001 chevy Suburban is equipped with firestone wilderness le p265 7or/16, and was part of the recall as seen on the firestone settlement website, which also included a list of affected tires to NHTSA pe00-020. As stated on the legal notice, "although firestone's recall and replacement programs were completed prior to the settlement, if a member of the class has not replaced, recalled or replacement tires that are still in use on his or her vehicle, firestone will replace those tires without charge if the vehicle is brought to a firestone tire service center. " went to a firestone tire service center and the store manager (alfonso) said that he "could not replace" the tires because he was unaware of the recall notice, to that particular tire. Spoke to a different manager (doug) and its supervisor (sandy) and both of whom are unaware of the recall situation. Recommended to call 866-345-0360. She also took my information down in order to relay it to someone else in the company for call back. I called the number she gave me and received recordings that detail what the settlement web site describe. I would like firestone to abide by the proposed settlement as soon as possible.
