1 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 12/05/2020

Brand new 2021 Tahoe 1367 miles catastrophically lost power without notice while in a busy intersection with mother and son. Onstar emergency services did not work. Unable to place car in neutral to move out of busy intersection. Police called, vehicle towed. Could not start, jumping not successful. Towed to dealer (hendricks chevy 12050 w broad street richmond va 23233). Chevy certified mechanic stated cable from battery to alternator had burned/melted/fried, car lost power, no warning. Wanted to simply "replace cable" and "get me back driving. " fearful of major/larger electrical issue causing fire/electrical failure.

2 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 11/21/2020

I have an airbag failure on my dashboard, the airbags are not working. On Saturday 11/21/2020 the driver side door kept saying door was open when it was entirely closed. Later on that morning, the passenger seat had cold ac while the rest of the car was throwing hot air on it's own. Because the car kept saying the passenger door was open, inside lights did not turned on. Replaced the door module and issue not fixed. Battery drains at least twice a day. Had to replace the engine oil pressure sensor multiple times and it still goes off randomly while driving and fix itself. This car it's used only to drive less than 10 miles per week. It is so annoying wiht this issue just to get it out and back home. I replaced the battery, alternator, oil pressure sensor, pasanger door sensor, ac filters all this in less than 1 year and it's one thing after another. Very disappointed.

3 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 12/05/2019

I purchased my vehicle2015 chevy Tahoe lt on July 1, 2019 I have had intermittent glitches in the electrical system. The headlights, dash lights, and mylink touchscreen will completely black out and then come back on. However, when this happens the steering wheel locks up for a split second. This is happening while driving, at speeds over 50mph, during the night and day. It was suspected to be the alternator or battery, after replacing the alternator there was no change in the behavior. It continues to happen. The service stabilitrack warning will also pop up after the power is restored. This issue is very dangerous and after reading dozens of forums it's clear this is not an isolated incident. This has happened over and over at least 20 times since July 2019, randomly and completely unexpectedly.

4 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 04/06/2019

Sometimes the vehicle will not start. When running the door locks open and close rapidly, the service trailer brake warning comes on, the low battery warning comes on then goes off, the airbag light flashes on and off. While driving the vehicle serges, and stalls completely for a brief moment. The battery is new, and the dealer says the battery and alternator check out ok. The last oil change about two months ago, the dealer said they could not duplicate the problem.

5 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 03/10/2017

Car is shutting off when driving down the road especially at night to radically the lights will turn off engine will shut off door locks won't engage and disengage has happened twice at 70 miles an hour almost had accidents. Hand electrical system check battery alternator by gm certified mechanic and all checked out fine. I am concerned this vehicle has a bad ignition switch which has been recalled on other models of vehicles and I do understand some Chevrolet suvs have been involved in those recalls this is a very dangerous situation.

6 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 04/04/2016

My wife and I bought a vehicle from cardenas superstore in pharr, TX. We've been to them 4 times, in which they've sent our Tahoe to the local gm/Chevrolet dealer in our area. Generally, when the weather is warm, stabilitrak and traction control will disable and we will see a series of warning lights. The abs warning light will go off, the air conditioner temperature will rise to a warm temp, the locks will start unlocking and locking randomly, hard transmission jerks between first and second gear, and little power when trying to increase speed. The first time we went, they said they couldn't find a problem. The second time we went, they clean out all the fuel modules, the third time they couldn't find anything wrong. And finally, on the fourth try, the dealer couldn't find any issues so they put di-electric grease on some of the wiring. Two days later it started acting up again. A reason they may have trouble finding any issues is that after the vehicle is off for some time, it will start up and run without any issue. I've managed to get it over to the local autozone while all the panel was going off, and power loss, and they mentioned a few possible issues. The vehicles voltage regulator may be bad, as well as loss of communcation from the ecm and many sensors(fuel pump, transmission, etc. . . ). We are lucky that we bought an extended warranty on the vehicle or this could have become very costly for us. But none the less, safety is of a concern when driving the Tahoe. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated. -robert neeley.

7 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 11/12/2015

I bought truck certified by carl's Buick GMC. Jan 30th 2014 with 40 something thousand miles, also paid 5k for extended warranty. Alternator went bad, service department sucks, and also had them check my dash bc cracks started, and deemed defective by service manager bc truck kept like new, I only drive on trip to family and dr's, I'm handicapped, I pd cash. And charged me thru extended warranty, if the air bags go off pc of dash going everywhere. No way everyone has same exact cracks and trouble with my motor burning oil which is changed before really due, calipers locked up, and burnt up abs wiring, and I forgot I went through 3 alternator before fixed an having issues again. I pay this much as a good gm customer and this is how we're going to be treated. I'm not o. K. With this.

8 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 04/12/2012

The battery gauge will drop or fluctuate. It does not occur immediately, but after driving for a couple minutes. Once the battery gauge drops many things are affected. The car hesitates to increase speed, braking is affected, cruise control is affected. The cruise control will turn on unexpectedly at times. When needing to accelerate it hesitates and once it goes the engine puts out more than is needed or expected. Braking is slow and pulsates slightly as the transmission is downshifting. The battery and alternator have been checked and appear to be in working order and nothing wrong with either of them.

9 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 01/20/2011

Instrument cluster problems. Started with a battery light intermittantly on, with a good charge on the battery and from the alternator (both confirmed with electric meter). Also having problems with the fuel gauge. Gauge shows 1/4 to 1/2 tank, and low fuel light comes on. Filling the tank at that time takes 22-23 gallons, with a 23 gallon tank capacity. Also getting a service tire pressure warning intermittantly. Checking the tire pressures, all tires show 38 to 42 psi, or occasioanlly the lft or lrt shows --psi. Tire pressues confirmed with a tire gauge. So far all other gauges are working good.

10 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 11/24/2007

We own a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe that was purchased in December 2002. As of November 2007, it has 82000 miles. A few days ago the speedometer suddenly stopped working while driving on highway. About 45 minutes later, after a stop, it began to work again. At the same time, voltage gauge on instrument cluster was pegged all the way to the right giving false reading of 19 v. Later, that gauge corrected itself only to act erratically again. Very unnerving to drive at night when the speedometer went out. In addition, we thought we were having alternator problems due to the faulty voltage reading. I have since taken the Tahoe to my chevy dealership for inspection and they mentioned the recent letter from general motors detailing that this instrument panel cluster problem is rather common. We are now waiting to hear back from the dealership to see if gm will pay for the replacement since we are technically over the mileage allowed (70k) by gm.

12 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 06/01/2005

So many. . . Where do I start? 1) at 9,000 mi. Intermediate shaft was replaced due to a popping feeling in the steering, at 16,000 mi. It is doing the same thing again. 2) at 9000 miles the instrument cluster was replaced due to a faulty tach motor making a buzzing/rattling sound, started making noise again at 13,000 miles took to dealer and said there is nothing wrong. 3) headlights flicker on and off on turns has been to the dealer 5 times since it had 9000 mi. 1st 2 times replaced a plug on alternator and said it was fixed, was not then said the found a bad connector still did not fix the problem. The problem still exists contacted gm and they were no help. 4) exhaust has been popping since new and sometimes after cool down sounds like something exploded 5) engine makes a noise when warmed up took in for service at 12000 miles and they cleaned oil pump pickup tube and said the oil pressure was not correct. This did not fix the problem took back in at 15000 and they stated no problem was found I was told the engine noise was normal. 6) the brakes pulsated when new took back at 59 mi. I was told to drive it and it would get better. Started again at 9000 mi. And they turned the rotors. Brakes started making a cracking noise in the front took in 3 times found no problem yet when I picked the vehicle up the last time at 15,000 mi the noise went away only to come back a week later. 7) when idling the vehicle vibrates bad!!!! dash will rattle and you can feel it in the steering wheel. I was told this was normal when the a/c was on yet it's worse when the a/c is off. Now that a/c is making a terrible noise from inside the engine compartment and inside the climate control box area. 8) engine has a miss at idle.
