1 Battery Dead problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 08/07/2019

The car was parked. We got in & shut the doors. When I tried to start the car, the doors locked automatically. I could not open the doors or roll down the windows. It was well over 100 degrees in the car. We were trapped in the car. While on the phone with 911, I was able to get the car to release the door locks and we escaped. The doors automatically locked and could not be opened. Evidently the battery was dead and the system shut down. There was no indication the battery was low. Having doors automatically lock and be disabled due to a battery is a huge safety hazard.

2 Battery Dead problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 08/01/2017

We have a 2010 Tahoe. 3 years ago we replaced the battery. After that the vehicle has been having the following issues. 1. Every 3-4 months the car dies while driving. Door locks, lights, radio, etc turn on and off rapidly while driving. Loss of power, steering wheel and brakes becomes stiffi. It has done it at least 3 times while driving 70 miles per hour on the interstate. I am shocked that we didn't crashed. Other times we have been driving 15-40 mph. 2. Battery dies when car is parked. 3. Key remote sometimes work and sometimes it doesn't. We brought the car to the location where the new battery was installed and they installed a new one. Issues continue so we started to do research. We found out that some Chevrolet vehicles have issues of compatibility with the negative cable of after-market batteries so we brought it to the dealership in eldersburg MD. They said they couldn't find the problem and could not recreate the issue even though we told them what we had found in our research. We paid several hundred dollars for labor and whatever they said they did. . . . We are still having the issues. Today it did it again. My husband said to pull over, turn the car off and wiggle the negative cable. I go to work just to find the car dead after 2 hours later. We read somewhere that there was an accident documented due to this issue. If you know if anyone at Chevrolet that cares or know of someone that can actually fix this problem I would appreciate the info. Thank you!.

3 Battery Dead problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 01/12/2017

Leaving my drive all the lights on the dash board lit up for about 2 seconds then went off. A few miles later did the same thing then all the gauges stopped working. Next time I started it up the gauges would not work about a mile down the road all the lights on dash came on and then gauges would start working. Sometimes my battery will be dead when I go out in the mornings. The driver seat heat comes on and off whenever it wants to. If it's cold outside the radio will not work until the car has been warmed up for a while.

5 Battery Dead problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 02/07/2015

On February 7th the driver side airbag spontaneously deployed as my family and I were driving home from the store. We contacted gm to find out if there were any recalls on our vehicle. We were instructed there were not and we should contact gm customer service. On February 11th they had us take our vehicle to a gm dealership where they conducted and investigation to determine why. Gm returned our vehicle to us on March 3rd stating the airbag deployment was caused by shorted wires in the wiring harness. Since our vehicle was returned to us we have had several more issues that were not present prior to the airbag deployment. The driver seat is stuck in one position, the rear windows will not work, the rear locks will not work, the fuel system is leaking gas, and the battery is dead, even having to be jump started when it was returned to us. General motors refuses to do anything to correct the problems, stating these problems are not a manufacturer defect. However, when the airbag blew, while we were driving down the road, there was significant smoke inside the dash, we believe the airbag burnt/shorted the wires after it deployed. Gm claim number 71-1435001291.

8 Battery Dead problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 06/06/2009

We purchased a 2007 chevy z71 Tahoe on June 3 2007. A month after we got it the battery was dead. We charged it thinking that since we didn't drive it very much ( a vacation vehicle only) that the battery wasn't charged. About 6month later it was dead again. It was looked at the garage we purchased it from and they couldn't find anything. In December 2008 after the 4th time of a dead battery and trying to get a ride to work we had a new battery put in it. On June 9 2009 it was dead after 6 month on a new battery. I was going to leave it at the pittsburgh airport while we went on a trip but I can't cause I don't know if it will start when we get home and it 125 mile from where we live. I want something done the lemon l comes to mind. I have read so many forum on this with no idea how to fix it even the garage has no idea what is drawing the battery . I want some answer.

9 Battery Dead problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 12/01/2007

Repeated power failure. Battery died and had to be jump started on at least 4 occasions from 11-07 through 12-07 several other times tried to start and truck struggled. Had to turn off radio and lights then would start. Took to dealer (vista Chevrolet) on 12-17-07 and asked to have system tested. . Instead they just replaced battery. Asked for system to be tested again July and August 08 (bob stall Chevrolet) and it was not done currently having battery problem again but now is out of warranty and gm will not pay for diagnosis even though issue was discovered under warranty. Some mornings truck will not start, other times it has been we sat parked for 10 minutes and then truck would not start. I feel there is a defect in our power system but gm and the dealers refuse to investigate unless I pay them for diagnosis. . I will be getting diagnosis from a part store before I pay for it. Even after diagnosis they claim no guarantee they will pay for any needed repairs even though issue was discovered under warranty.
