Dashboard Crack Problems of Chevrolet Tahoe - part 2

Dash cracked in several places. Pulled out of driveway and heard a �pop� sound, stopped car and noticed that the dash had cracked. I fear that pieces of the dash would be sent flying in the event of an air bag deployment.

Cracked dashboard above instrument cluster. Bought the vehicle used on 18 may 2018 and did not notice the crack until the next day. Research has indicated that this is a known defect with many gm models.

The dashboard is cracking right above the steering wheel. I do not know it the crack starting while in motion or stationary. I know it happened in may 2018. It is cracking more everyday. This is my dream car and I think it's a shame to pay this kind ot money for such a expensive car and it starts falling apart. My husband and I are nothing but chevy buyers we have owned a number of blazers and Tahoe and have never had this problem . My husband's Tahoe is a 2004 . Looks great. Also on the 2013 Tahoe the door pull is broke and the dealer said I had to buy the hold door panel thst would be over $500. I only need the the pull handle not the entire door panel. This is nonsense. Is Chevrolet getting cheap on their quallty . This will make be look into other vehicles (Ford, Toyota, Jeep , etc. ## VIN passed ## chevy Tahoe 2013 ##.

Cracked dash - the vehicle was stationary when cracking happened inside on the dash. It has cracked in 4 places: (2) above the steering wheel and (2) at the air bag. When driving, I notice there is no support in the middle of dash, it bounces and makes the cracks worse. I called my local Chevrolet Tahoe and researched online for same make and model about recalls and there has yet to be a recall for the cracks in the dash. There has certainly been lots of complaints about the same issue, but again no action has been taken. Cracking at airbag is hazardous, especially if I were to get into an accident. This should certainly be a recall due to the cracks at the airbag and that it is a safety hazard.

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard had developed a crack which was deteriorating to the side of the instrument cluster. The vehicle was not yet taken to the dealer peterson Chevrolet Buick Cadillac (12300 w fairview Ave, boise, id 83713, 1-(208) 908-6305) however they had been contacted, had been aware of the failure by had not verified if there was a recall or solution from the manufacturer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 67,000. Dyd.

The dash has cracked on the passenger side. The crack starts on the left side of passenger air bag and continues upward. Started small and seemed to get larger overnight. Vehicle is garage kept. No reason for this. Scares me if airbag deploys will plastic explode into someone. From what I have read , this seems to be quite a problem with these dashes.

The dashboard has developed a crack next to the passenger airbag cover. This is a widespread manufacturer's defect for this type of gm vehicle. However, gm refuses to instate a recall to address it's customer's concerns. With the plastic of the dashboard compromised, a deployment of the airbag could send fragments of plastic into the cabin.

Tl the contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard cracked around the steering wheel on the front passenger side. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 134,000.

Dash board cracked for 3rd time on drivers side. Gm will not cover now as its out of warranty. Drivers side motor mount broken. Known issue.

I own a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe. My dash began to crack completely from one end to the other. I called the dealer today, george Chevrolet in bellflower CA, and I spoke with the service manager jose. Of course my Tahoe is included in the takata recall and no parts for it are available yet. I did ask him about the recall and then I explained the problem with my dash. It is so badly cracked now it seems to me that the airbags are not secure at all as the cracks have made the entire dash loose. I was told there was no recall and I am no longer under warranty so nothing could be done. I am the original owner of the Tahoe and have taken excellent care of the vehicle since I purchased it in 2011. It seems to me that there are many complaints about this issue so I hope someone will review and consider a recall. The cracking began at about 22k miles. I am unable to select the button below, but please contact me ASAP if there is a recall.

Cracked dash- I found the dash of my 2010 Tahoe cracked by the passenger air bag and above the instrument cluster. Upon doing research I found that numerous other chevy owners are experiencing the same issue and gm continues to deny that it is an issue with their vehicles and do a recall even though they all crack in the same areas.

This week the temperature fluctuated drastically. My Tahoe was in the garage for 2 solid days. I pulled it out the next two days and drove to work like any normal day but the temperatures were cold in the mornings and warmed up through the day. Today we pulled the Tahoe out of the garage, got in to go to church and noticed that the dash had cracked in the upper corner of the airbag compartment towards the air vent. I am very concerned that should I be in an accident and the airbag deploy, that shards of plastic would break and be impelled through the vehicle possible harming my family.

Takata recall. Airbag light going on and off constantly. Also dashboard cracking all over and pieces coming out which can be dangerous in an accident!.

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the passenger side dashboard was cracked in four places. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 130,403.

My dashboard is cracked in two locations. The speaker in the dashboard has been serviced once by the dealership and is the only time the dashboard has been touched. Nothing has been done on my part to jeopardize the integrity of the dashboard. An internet search shows that this is a common problem in Tahoe�s. I have received no reasonable explanation for the damage along with no reasonable fix ($1,500!!!!). I have had my vehicle serviced religiously at the dealership and at no point was I made aware that this was or could become an issue. Now they tell me to file an insurance claim!?!? date this occurred is unknown and has been estimated to best of my recollection.

My 2010 chevy Tahoe has developed a crack in the upper dash area between the passenger side air bag and the defrost outlet. There was no outside influence that caused the crack and I'm very concerned that this is a safety issue in the event of an accident.

I am concerned about a manufacturing defect in the dash of Tahoes. I have read numerous complaints online from other chevy Tahoe owners of various years with same exact issue. The dash is cracking at the airbag locations. At what point does this become a safety issue? is it only after an injury or death occurs? there is already a recall on the taka airbag inflator but we remain on a "list" for repairs. Any safety issue should not take that long to be repaired. The cracking in the dash at the locations of the airbags should also be taken seriously!.

The dashboard has a crack from the windshield and is spreading toward the steering column(about 8-10 inch crack). There is also a small crack near the airbag on the passenger side. We first noticed the crack in August/2017. We were told our extended warranty would not cover the bill. When we first noticed the crack was about 4 inches. It has now grown close to 8-10 inches.

The dash board has several cracks in it. When asked a dealer about it they said this was very common for chevys. It's interesting that this information is posted all over the internet, why would Chevrolet compromise customer satisfaction. Also the side trim is falling off.

My dashboard has cracked in two separate places. The first crack in the dashboard is at the passenger airbag. The second crack is large in size and runs from the back of the dashboard all the way up to the dash that covers my instrument panel.

Dashboard is cracking, which has been recognized as a known problem. It caused integrity issues with cracked plastic in event air bags deploy.

Two dashboard cracks on 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, 1 of which is directly going to passenger side airbag compartment. If this airbag is to be deployed, it will send the pieces of this dash flying throughout the vehicle. This is a well known issue and there are thousands of these identical cracks on these generation vehicles with no support from gm. This is a safety issue and needs to be recalled.

Dashboard is cracked and out of warranty. This vehicle is only 3 years old.

Takata recall cracking dash by the passenger air bag vehicle only has 39,000 miles.

As with many other complaints there is a crack in the dash. I feel this is unsafe if there is ever an accident that occurs and the air bag will need to deploy. I just purchased this car 30 days ago and now have a crack in the dash. By readingup on this, there is so many complaints. I have had in the past a 2004 Tahoe with no,complaints. I feel that gm should get off there pocket books and recall this. This Tahoe only has 48,000 miles. Practically brand new. Come on gm do the right thing. If an accident occurs and I loose an eye or suffer facial damage due to flying debris from a cracked dash that will be on you. I also have a camry. They recalled there dash just because its sticky. Step up made in the USA. Please. After paying $29000. For a car this should be fixed. This car was sitting still when this happened.

The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard prematurely cracked and was deteriorated from the instrument panel gauges to the center of the dashboard. The contact was unable to determine if the failure could affect any components near the front of the dashboard. The dealer (lakeside Chevrolet, 2005 s goliad st, rockwall, TX 75087, (972) 961-7103) was notified of the failure. The contact was waiting on the manufacturer to provide a solution. The dealer indicated that the dashboard needed to be replaced. There was no campaign to provide a remedy from the manufacturer. The failure mileage was not available.

The dashboard is cracking all over, and there is even a hole where it cracked so bad that a piece fell off. I believe this is a common defect and that the manufacturer should be responsible for this.
