1 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 11/21/2020

I have an airbag failure on my dashboard, the airbags are not working. On Saturday 11/21/2020 the driver side door kept saying door was open when it was entirely closed. Later on that morning, the passenger seat had cold ac while the rest of the car was throwing hot air on it's own. Because the car kept saying the passenger door was open, inside lights did not turned on. Replaced the door module and issue not fixed. Battery drains at least twice a day. Had to replace the engine oil pressure sensor multiple times and it still goes off randomly while driving and fix itself. This car it's used only to drive less than 10 miles per week. It is so annoying wiht this issue just to get it out and back home. I replaced the battery, alternator, oil pressure sensor, pasanger door sensor, ac filters all this in less than 1 year and it's one thing after another. Very disappointed.

2 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 12/23/2019

The dash on the vehicle has cracked at the passenger air bag cover. Also cracked above the speedometer. Concern is there may be humidity ingress to the airbag, the electronics or sub assemblies increasing the risk for an airbag deployment anomaly. Another concern is plastic or metal from the dash could also impact the airbag (deflation) or present injury to the occupants (flying parts). A lesser concern is the sensors for the automated ac/heating systems in the car. Believing they are calibrated with sealed intact components. The larger split at the speedometer has only recently happened which makes this a concern that there are larger more underpinning issues not fully realized.

4 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 04/12/2018

Thursday, April 12, 2018. Heading to work one morning on the interstate, the girl in front of me put on breaks (we were in the fast lane), so I put on my breaks. I looked in the rear view mirror and saw the driver behind me not paying attention and going 50-55 mph. I had enough time to brace myself before he hit me from behind which made me hit the person in front of me (I have video and pictures). Fortunately, my Tahoe held up pretty good and didn't crumble with the type of impact it had. My concern is my airbags did deploy but actually didnt. The smoke came out from the airbags through the dash and my airbag sensor light came on my alerts on the dash. If I wouldn't have prepared and braced myself then my face would have gone in the steering wheel. I didn't see a recall but is there a reason they didn't come out? also, I was able to drive away from the scene to take the Tahoe to body shop but the seat belt was locked in it's place and could not rebuckle (I was buckled during the crash).

5 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 03/16/2018

I bought a replacement radiator core support manufactured in china. It has a defect that requires the front air bag sensors be installed facing the opposite direction from the normal orientation (rearward rather than forward). However, I suspect that may affect air bag sensor function and possibly air bag deployment during an accident. Online chats with the sensor manufacturer result in evasive answers due to potential liability. Therefore, I believe the chinese manufactured radiator core supports should be recalled.

6 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 12/12/2016

Takata recall on my vehicle - why is taking so long to remedy this recall? I also have a few other issues I want to mention. I bought my Tahoe in July 2016, my dash is cracking on the driver's side and from what I've read, this is very common and gm is ignoring the issue. My vehicle also started taking off on its own, took extra pressure to stop & rpm would fluctuate sporadically. After contacting a dealer, I was told there was campaign to replace the throttle body sensor but it had expired while the previous owner had possession and was told I'd have to pay for the repair and would possibly have to replace the throttle body. After replacing the sensor, my vehicle's rpm still fluctuates upon stopping and idle is rough. Very upset Chevrolet customer now.

8 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 02/02/2015

My air bag sensor needs to be replaced - at an astronomical price this is crazy - I have just replaced the ball joints and now I have to replace an airbag sensor in order to get an inspection sticker. . . . . Not happy.

11 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 07/21/2007

We have a 2007 chevy Tahoe. One of the reasons we purchased this vehicle is that it has front and side airbags. I usually ride in the passenger seat and the sensor most often indicates off. After numerous attempts of trying to get them to establish what was wrong, the chevy dealer said that my weight was not quite enough to get it to work or that it was positional( how I sat). I am a grown woman who weighs about 115 lbs and am 5'2". This is not thin by normal standards and it is not considered an unusual size. If in fact this vehicle was not meant to work for someone of my size they should advise you of this. I asked what would happen if there was a wreck and my airbag did not deploy, would I have to sue gm? they are avoiding me and I have written to the ceo of gm as advised by customer service and I have written to bill heard, the owner of tom jumper Chevrolet where we bought the car. No answers from anyone. What do you think?.

12 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 09/20/2005

Dt the contact stated that air bag light came on intermittently. The vehicle has been to the dealer on three different occasions. The first time they said it was the sensor, and they replaced it. The second time they said it was the computer, and they replaced the computer. The third time they replaced a spring. The dealer said that the air bag may or may not deploy if involved in a car accident. The vehicle was taken the dealer for the fourth time. The air bag light affected the tire pressure light as well. They both come on and off intermittently.

14 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 01/01/2005

I took my truck to island Chevrolet for the antilock recall and I mentioned about the recall for the air bags on the Chevrolet Tahoe 2000 because my air bag light has been on. I was told my 2000 Tahoe is not on the recall because it was the model made later in the year. But when they put the truck on the diagnostic they found it had right & left side deployment loop resistance low. They were going to charge me $800. 00 and since I had to fix my 4 wheel drive also I could not afford it. But it seems to me that the recall should be extended to the later models of 2000 also. I know of a couple of people that also have this problem and they also have the later 2000 model.

15 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 08/15/2003

August 2003 airbag sensor light came on. We were told that ifthis sensor came on, there was a problem with the airbag system and that none of the airbags would deploy. In researching the problem, we found that 525,254 chevy Tahoe LS, year 2000 were recalled for defective sensors(sensing diagnostic module) and/or airbag problems. During a routine oil change a diagnostic scan was run on the vehicle. We were then told to bring the vehicle into a dealer for possible warranty work. Eisinger motors, 1000 west idaho, kalispell mt 406-755-5555 told us that we would be responsible for paying for the repair costs. Since the vehicle was on the recall list (actually there are 5 NHTSA recalls on the chevy 2000 Tahoe LS), are we actually responsible for repair costs? NHTSA states that dealers will recalibrate the sdm on the affected vehicles andthat owners who do not receive the free remedy should contact Chevrolet or GMC. If the airbag deployment system is not immediately attended to, the driver and or passengers could receive severe injuries.

16 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

The consumer was informed the passenger air bag sensor wouldn't activate the air bags for 80 pounds or less, but it did when their 62 pound child was in the seat. Other problem are as followed: driver's door experienced intermittent rattles, steering vibrations/grinding when turned to left, sunroof leaked heavily when it rained or when going through the car wash, dash lights were inoperative, headlights were inoperative, vehicle did not shift when in 4 wheel drive, window molding was loose, stereo lights flickered, seat memory in the driver's seat would not move to preset memory positions and would not move forward when the ignition key was removed, and the front power window along with the rear passenger window were inoperative.
