Vehicle showed "service air bag" message on dash display comes on every time vehicle is started. Took vehicle to nick mayer gm in lewisburg,TN and after diagnosis it was determined to need a passenger side air bag system replaced at a cost of 1380. 00 vehicle was purchased new from this dealership by me as the only owner and has 34000 actual miles the vehicle was in motion at the first warning on a city street,. Dealership told me that with this condition complete air bag system is non funtional can you help me get this fixed??.

My dash board is cracked in two places. It cracked to the dome part over the gauges and it cracked to my passenger side airbag. I do not feel safe transporting people in the passenger side.

Low mileage vehicle, stored in a garage at work and at home. Dashboard cracked at passenger side airbag. Serious safety issue as plastic parts from broken dashboard can become deadly missiles during airbag deployment and potentially harm or cause death to passenger (my child). Dash is cracked in tow seperate areas. One above the steering wheel, and one above the passenger side air bag. This causes a major safety concern, in that if I was in an accident and the air bags deployed, flying debris could harm myself and my children. This cracks happened for no apparent reason, other than being cheaply made and installed. The vehicle was stationary and not touched when these cracks occurred.

Takata recall I am the original owner of a 2008 Tahoe lt 4wd and have contacted asheville Chevrolet in asheville, nc on a couple of occassions regarding this airbag recall, most recently about 1 year ago when I noticed that the dash was starting to crack particuliarly two cracks near the passenger side airbag. The service manager came out and looked at the dash and advised me that this is a common problem with dash cracking in Tahoe models and was not related to the takata recall but that there was also not a recall on the dash cracking around the airbag. I am a retired law enforcement officer that used to supervise a traffic safety unit and am a certified traffic crash reconstructionist, this problem with the dashboards cracking needs to be further investigated by NHTSA to determine if it is in fact related to the takata recall and escalate gm to replace the dashes and /or takata airbags if it is.

Dash is completed cracked from side to side (driver to passenger) in multiple places. It continues to get worse and is now lifting the passenger side airbag up to the point where I am afraid to have a passenger ride in the front.

Takata recall. While my Tahoe was in a repair shop to have the new air bag control module reprogrammed, the side curtain air bags deployed. . In addition, I noticed the deployed side air bags do not cover the front driver's or passenger side windows. Therefore, it appears to be only a partial deployment or a defective design that in addition to accidental deployment, they do not protect people in the front seats.

Takata recall. My airbag has not been replaced by gm. My dashboard is cracked all around the passenger side airbag container. My car repeatedly notifies me that my airbag needs servicing. Gm needs to replace it. I go onto gm and get the attached message. Gm needs to replace with some replacement airbag soon.

Cracked dash. The dash has cracked at the passenger side airbag. If airbag deployed, the dash would probably turn to shrapnel.

This vehicle has 55,680 miles and the upper left corner next to the passenger side air bag is cracked. Because of this dash crack, the air bag cover is lifted. Chevy won't do anything about it because it's out of warranty. Well, this is a major safety issue not to mention there have been thousands of complaint of 2007-2013 chevy dashed cracking.

Takata recall. My drivers side air bag has a recall and the dealer tells me there is an incomplete remedy and so they cannot replace my air bag. I have not had any damage to my vehicle yet.

I live in a fairly arid climate, where rain doesn't occur frequently. A couple of months ago, after my Tahoe had been sitting in the rain, I noticed water dripping from the inside door pillar when I opened the door. I just assumed it was water than came in from the outside when I opened the door. Then about nine days ago, while driving in the rain, water began dripping from the top center console area, in a steady stream. When I took it into the Chevrolet dealer they said that the seal on the hi-frequency antennae (shark fin antennae), over the driver's side was faulty, and that water was leaking in through it. Since there was not a recall for my VIN, and since rain was predicted to continue for several days, I had no choice but to pay $452. 32 to have a new antennae installed. The service department did what they could to dry the area out in between the roof and the ceiling and left the cover off the side driver's airbag so it would dry, telling me to return in a week so they could replace the cover on the airbag. In addition to being out a lot of money, I am concerned about the side airbag possibly malfunctioning after being wet over a period of time.

My 2010 chevy Tahoe has developed a crack in the upper dash area between the passenger side air bag and the defrost outlet. There was no outside influence that caused the crack and I'm very concerned that this is a safety issue in the event of an accident.

I own a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe lt. I take good care of my vehicle. Last week, I noticed multiple cracks in my dashboard in the immediate vicinity of my passenger side airbag; they seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. There was no incident beforehand that could have caused the damage. My vehicle was stationary from the last time I had used it, to the next time I entered my vehicle and noticed the dashboard cracks. I took my vehicle to preston Chevrolet, a nearby gm dealership, and I was advised by the service dept. Manager that this type of issue is not a common occurrence, although he had seen it in the past. . He further advised that he was unable to obtain or provide any sort of financial assistance to me in having the defective, damaged dashboard repaired. After researching, I found that it is quite a common problem, and what's more, that chevy Tahoe's are the 'common denominator. ' I feel that I have been mislead by preston Chevrolet. I've since contacted gm and I am awaiting a response from a "senior case advisor. " I am primarily concerned about my safety and the safety of my passengers. In the event of a motor vehicle collision, I am certain that shards of plastic would be hurtled into the air, becoming dangerous projectiles that could cause serious bodily injury or harm, not to mention the poor aesthetic appearance and overall devaluation of my vehicle that the fractures have caused. This is clearly a manufacturers defect. I feel I am owed repair and/or restitution from gm as a result.

The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked on the driver's side air bag location. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The failure mileage was unknown. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Driving down the road, my dashboard cracked on the corner of the passenger side air bag. The dashboard was not struck in anyway or the car did not hit a bump. I'm afraid of the crack being there because it is so close to the airbag housing.

Dashboard has been cracking around passenger side airbag area, concerning me that if god forbid an accident happened and the airbag was deployed on passenger side, shards of this cracked dashboard could be dispersed into the area, causing possible laceration or fatal harm to passenger and driver. When investigating, I found this to be very common in this vehicle make and model, with many many people( thousands of them) posting pictures and describing the same issue in "the exact same spots"!!!!. Also, the cracks seem to happen over the steering column in addition to the passenger airbag, causing more safety concerns that driving components could now be exposed to damaging heat and ice rays affecting driving safety. I have brought this issue to gm dealership where I purchased car, and they have ignored me. I have also called corporate, and they have also offered no assistance. There is approximately 20,000 people on a web forum called "change. Org. ", that have explained identical concerns for airbag safety with these cracking dashboards, and the petition has even been brought to gm ceo attention. I am concerned for my families well-being and lives, if ever I was in an accident where these airbags deploy. The cracked dashboard in that area could be a potential lethal weapon causing harm. Within last 90 days dash has developed cracks around passenger side airbag compartment, which runs all the way to the bolt attachment point. Also cracked above driver instrument cluster. When turning the steering wheel (in motion or not) has a slight rubbing sound, and I am told by repair shop that it is the wound wire ignition line to the driver side airbag. I am concerned that both deficiencies in design and manufacturing, could prevent air bag deployment, or case them to go off without a front end impact to the sensors. This is a common problem with this model vehicle for several model years, and gm accepts no responsibility for defective design and manufacture, unlike Ford & Toyota. This is not a mileage issue, it is a plastic interior part, and unrelated to mileage. This vehicle is garaged and not parked in sun for long periods.

Dashboard has cracked near the passenger side airbag and driver side near the defrost vent- no accident. Simply sitting in the driveway of our home. The check engine light came on and when it was hooked up to the diagnostic computer system it stated it was bc of the fuel system control module which is already under recall.

Vehicle was stationary and I noticed a crack in the dash board right on the passenger side air bag. Thru some research I came across a pending class action lawsuit for this issue affecting thousands of gm customers. This vehicle has only 35,000 miles on it.

The digital information center (dic) located in the instrument panel cluster (ipc) has stopped working. However, all of the non-digital gauges such as speedometer, fuel, etc still work properly. All of the digital displayed info such as odometer, gear select, mpg, tire psi, etc, is no longer visisble. This defect/malfunction occurred unexpectedly about 4 months ago. The defect/malfunction occured while the vehicle was parked (not moving) in my driveway. I simply got in and turned the key on to start the engine, and the dic was noticeably blank. I looked on-line and called several dealerships for info regarding repairs,, and I quickly learned that this exact defect/malfunction is extremely common among 2007-2016 Chevrolet and GMC vehicles. Gm should be held responsible by issuing a recall. Also, for no reason and without any cause, my dashboard cracked above the passenger side airbag. This is also a very common defect with my specific vehicle make/model. If the airbags were to deploy, would they deploy properly? and even if the airbags deploy properly, im afraid shards of the plastic from dashboard will shoot all over the car resulting in injury.

Takata recall , previous gm recall complaint #49152. It has been a year and a half since NHTSA and Chevrolet was notified of my request to have passenger side airbag replaced. My Chevrolet dealership (country Chevrolet) denied my request to have airbag turned off until replacement parts were obtained. Every time my wife rides in the passenger seat she is putting her life at risk. Instead of the government taking these big fines against the companies, why don't they buy the air bags to replace the defective ones. Do you think that 18 months is an acceptable time table for fixing a national recall? it is no wonder the average citizen is so disgusted by the snail like pace that the federal government works. It seems as if our government agrees with these behemoth corporations that it is easier and less costly to just pay the family after they have lost a loved one than to proactively solve the problems.

Takata recall / gm recall 49152. My wife & I received the aforementioned recall from gm. In the body of the recall letter it states that takata had decided our passenger side airbag is defective. Gm states they will issue a recall unless the can prove the airbags are not defective. So, I called gm to see what is the time frame to complete this investigation. Gm could not provide me with any information on how long it would be for gm to finish it's investigation. In fact gm didn't even indicate they have started yet. This is unacceptable to me as a consumer. Now I'm left with a car I purchased new from gm and am not able to use the vehicle for it's intended purpose. One has to assume that gm did their due diligence when purchasing the airbags and now that a recall has been issued by the manufacturer that decision is not good enough for gm. It's obvious to me the longer it takes for gm to prove the recall is not warranted the fewer recalled vehicles will be on the road which I have no doubt will be a benefit to gm but certainly not to the consumer. The simple question "how long will gm's investigation to prove to NHTSA's safitsfaction the recall is not needed take?". This leaves the consumer in a situation with no idea of when a resolution to the problem will come.

Recall for passenger-side airbag has not been performed after being requested and parts being on order since June 2016. Cannot obtain an expected parts delivery date from my dealer.
