5 Visibility problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 09/30/2011

I am 6ft 1in tall and when I sit in the truck with the seat in its lowest position, leaves me with 1-2 inches of head space, I can not adjust the outside mirrors enough to safely see down the sides of the truck. The mirrors do not flair out or up enough for me to safely see into the adjacent lanes on either side of the truck. I sat in several Tahoes and the mirrors were all the same. I have remediated the problem, some what, by attaching a convex mirror to each of my side mirrors. When the mirrors are fully flared up and out, half of the image I see in the mirrors is of my own truck.

The back heater has completely failed. The dealership has told us that this is a recurring problem and gm has issued a service advisory notice. But they can not help us on the problem, now it is going to cost us over 700 dollars to repair the problem, they said that the module, the actuator and the heater doors have failed. They have to replace all the parts and it will take 4 days to fix the problem.

9 Visibility problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 02/06/2007

In 2006, my drivers side mirror was leaking a black gel-like substance. After this started to happen, I noticed a circular "oily residue-look" in the middle of the mirror. It looks like oil was rubbed in the center of the mirror. Now all images in the mirror have a "double-vision, blurry" effect. . . And the mirror has lost the "dimming effect" for the headlights of the cars behind me. . A lot glare is present at nighttime. Dealers recommended replacement. . At my expense.
