Wipers failed during heavy rain in heavy traffic on 7/3/25. Wipers randomly started working. The wipers failed again during a heavy rain on 8/13/25 again in moderate traffic. Wipers failed during heavy rain, was unable to see while driving on an interstate. I was able to navigate to the shoulder of the highway but was very scary being on an interstate highway in heavy traffic. Dealership repair occurred on 8/14/25. No warnings of any kind prior to the failures.
While driving in a rainstorm on a highway at 70mph, the windshield wipers quit working and would not restart. This has happened on multiple occasions and the dealer could not recreate the issue. Visibility was virtually zero, creating a very unsafe situation. The condition corrected itself after multiple ignition cycles and several minutes being pulled over on the side of the highway.

First: wiper motor stopped working, so it would not spray washer fluid to clean front or rear windows. Multiple people have had the same issue, only way to fix was replace second: rear heat stopped working, dealership said we were the 5th Tahoe in the last 2 weeks with the same issue. The "lines needed blown out" was what they said the fix was.
Wipers stop functioning intermittently. Happens every few weeks since 7/24/23.
I've had my 2023 Tahoe for 15 months, purchased Dec. 2023 issue #1. Dash message on start up " restraint system needs service". I noticed small lights overhead (buttons for tail gate, sun roof, reading lamps) were off. I pressed some of them, and dash message went away, and lights came on. Everything worked fine. I've narrowed it down to the passenger side reading light. When dash warning comes on, I press reading light, and whalla! all works fine. This has happened about 6 times over the last year. Issue #2. After driving many hours (9 hr drive, then a 2hr drive, then 4hr hr drive on different days/nights) in rain with wipers in auto mode, using defrost on and off as needed. Suddenly, wipers stop working as well as headlights in auto mode! scary. Pulled over and waited with engine off. Restarted and still nothing. I was able to use headlights in full on mode. I turned the wiper switch all the way from top-pulse to the full-on 4-6 times really quick back and forth, and like magic, everything worked again! this has happened 3 times in the last 2 months (always during several hours of rainy weather driving). Dealer says they can't fix what they can't witness. I suppose my only recourse is to video tape it and then show dealership.
Transmission failure/windshield wiper failure- while traveling approximately 48mph, the vehicle completely locked up. Tires screeched, vehicle came to a grinding halt. Two of my children were in the vehicle (15yrs and 7yrs of age. ) this was sudden and without warning! the vehicle almost rolled, and we were lucky that no vehicles were behind us or we would have been rearended. At that time, we pulled over and the vehicle was towed to the service department at the local dealership. Just days before, the windshield wipers completely failed while driving, in the middle of a downpour. I had to pull the vehicle over and wait for the rain to calm before returning home. Also, the entire display panel went blank while driving, as if the vehicle was turned off. I was unable to determine speed etc. There had been a cascade of odd malfunctions days prior to the major events, the clock stopped working, the compass stopped working. The service department informed me that there was a "bad valve body. " I was told by the service manager that he had "never heard" of a vehicle doing this. My children and I are terrified to get back in the vehicle, as we almost had what could have been a fatal accident. I am in contact with gm/Chevrolet on possible remedies. I should note again that there are several other defects with the vehicle, that all seem to surround microchip/electrical components. They all seemed to have failed at once, which leads me to believe there is a larger systemic problem with this vehicle, the processors, and components. Again, this was a sudden cascade of failures. I have video of the windshield wipers non-functional during the rain. I was able to take the video after I had stopped. This is exceptionally dangerous. This vehicle is available for inspection. There were no warnings lamps or messages. No insurance has been involved. To my knowledge the dealer has not re-created the failures, but I have video of the panel black out as well.
The hood and top of the car on multiple Tahoes and suburbans with this body style and year have the clear missing I have family &friends same issue, as well as the bottom plastic piece by windshield wipers crack quick/loosen causing possible water to get in or defrost system to stall, also does not go through car wash systems many chevy models in the 2017-2020 years have issue especially 2017/2018.

I was north of pittsburg on Sunday 30 July 2023 when I seen that rain was approaching. I turned on my rain sensing wipers and as the rain approached and turn into a down pour I had no wipers. Couldn't see where I was going, went to the left and hit rumble strips so I went right and heard the rumble strips there. Stopped and almost caused a pile up. Took it to the dealer on 03 August 2023 and the dealer (walker brothers) edinboro,PA. Trouble shot my vehicle and then ordered me a new wiper motor with no idea when it will be in.

I was driving down the interstate and unexpectedly the sun roof exploded. There was no debris from the cars distantly on front of me that could've damaged the sunroof like this. There were no temperatures fluctuations that coud've caused this. Luckily, I had the screen shut which kept the glass from reigning me, my husband, and my daughter. After stopping the vehicle, my husband took a photograph. It was was noticed that most of the glass came out of the vehicle as opposed to inward. With that being said, the sunroof exploded and was not hit from an outside source.
Near collision with pedestrian in crosswalks on left turns and near collision with pedestrians crossing multi lane roads who entering from a landscaped center island. I have repeatedly experienced this situation even though I am acutely aware of the view obstruction created by the large a-piller, air bag and drivers side mirror. It has become evident from the incidents in my neighborhood that trucks and SUV's are involved in the fatalities at crosswalks and multi lane roadways. An recent fatality occurred on December 10 2022 in poway at the intersection of midland and edgmoore rd. 35yr old women killed in crosswalk by driver making left turn. The January 24th 2022 fatality happened on community rd. In poway 92064. It would appear your forms are incident focused and not geared to identify safety hazards that have not been considered. Please contact me to discus this safety issue if you have seen an unexplained increase in pedestrian traffic fatalities that involve trucks and SUV's. Thank you,.

I was driving on a highway when I heard a loud crash sound and some rattling coming from the sunrood . It was raining but not bad. I didn't see anything that may have flew up and hit the sunroof. I had not gone under an overpass and there was not many cars on the road. I pulled in to a parking lot and did not find anything that would have hit and broke the glass but the sunroof was broken. T.
Sunroof shattered without warning or any apparent impact from outside source. Driving on clear highway, 55 mph.

Rear window defroster electrical connector on driver's side broke while opening glass hatch. Soldered joint broke away from glass. Seems as if the electrical wire is too short or under too much tension. Back glass will no longer defrost limiting visibility. Vehicle was stationary when problem occurred.

When placed into reverse the backup camera automatically turns on at maximum brightness and cannot be dimmed or over ridden. This causes blinding and inability to see out of the vehicle at night. The brightness is such that you cannot see out of any windows from inside the vehicle. To see outside you must roll down the windows but this eliminates the ability to see what is behind you.

We were driving down interstate 95 on our way home from nc. We had just opened the sun roof in tilt mode and a couple of minutes later heard a loud gunshot like noise. We realized the sunroof had shattered. Glass fell all in the vehicle. There were cars traveling all around us, but we never saw any debri flying our way so it is unknown how this happened.
The vehicle was on motion smoke just started coming from everywhere. Also the vehicle statred to over heat. The police came and help me to a safe area I was crying dont no whats wrong. I did service the car two days ago, but the dash says service engine oil. My car also shakes when stopped also vibrates when you drive over 70 mph. My seat belt on the driver side wont stay in. My windshield wipers dont work well when it rains.
Rear defrost wire constantly separates from the glass. We have been to various dealerships more than a dozen times and the same problem persists. Many of these repairs have included a brand new back window and wiring and the problem continues to occur. Our truck has been in and out of the dealer for days at a time only to break again within days/weeks of repair. This creates a very unsafe driving experience, especially in the winter months (now) when we cannot see out of the back window. This case is fully registered with the dealership and with gm directly, but no permanent resolution has been identified. The wire is currently detached, it fell off again within 24 hours of the last repair. This has happened both while the vehicle is stationary and while it is moving.
Contacts on rear window defogger/defroster separated. First on left rear (2017)then later on left rear (2018).
Spontaneous exploding sunroof.
Gm condenser issue. Gm has a known issue with 2014-2016 models using a defective condenser. They have a new part # that is on national backorder and are unwilling to do anything for their customers waiting for the part. I was driving down the freeway, kids in tow, on a rainy muggy day in the pacific northwest last week. My windshield began to fog and with no condenser to run the ac I was unable to defrost my windows. Unable to see a thing I had to pull over, on the freeway, carefully, and find a child's coat in the very back to wipe down the windows to crest visibility. This is a safety issue and clearly negligence on gm's part and they would be held liable if/when this creates a serious accident.
Spontaneous windshield crack, originating form passenger side upper right corner to center of windshield; approx 8" long. Crack in dash perpendicular to passenger airbag area, approx 2" long. Vehicle was parked in covered garage for 72 hours, discovered upon next use.

The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe. In inclement weather, water entered from the rear doors and leaked into the rear door paneling. As the failure progressed, the contact heard an abnormal noise of water moving around within the rear door paneling. Multiple dealers were notified. The dealer indicated that the failure was a known issue, but the manufacturer had not issued a recall to provide a solution. The contact was uncertain if the vehicle would be repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was waiting for a solution. The VIN and failure mileage were not available.
While driving down the highway sunroof exploded. When we pulled over to look we found nothing that hit it in fact the glass was pushed up and not down into the car. Weather was about 60 's, overcast, light sprinkle rain. Only had Tahoe for 4 months prior to this happening. Since the the sunroof had to be replaced a 2nd time due to the railing breaking and was unable to open it.
