The driver's side window switch fried on our 2007 chevy Tahoe lt. It literally burned a hole in the side of the switch where the two circuit boards come together. It is a miracle that the entire car did not go up in flames. I've done a little research online and apparently this is not an isolated incident. The 2006-2007 chevy trialblazers and Toyota rav4's have had the same issues. I believe there needs to be a recall of some sort in order to make sure this does not happen to anyone else and potentially catch the entire vehicle on fire.

The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the rear passenger window would close independently while the vehicle was shut off. The vehicle was neither diagnosed nor repaired for the failure. The contact was concerned with the window opening independently and the possibility of theft from his vehicle. He believed there to be a computer failure. The failure mileage was 2,300.

The rear drivers side window went down by itself, and now is inoperable from either the drivers electric window switch or rear passenger switch, so it is stuck down. All other windows work fine. I have not fixed the problem yet.

: the contact stated without warning both passenger side windows became inoperable. The dealership replaced the door module and the windows worked until the vehicle was returned to the residence. At the residence the fuse box began to spark and the windows stopped working. The vehicle was taken back to the dealership and the front window regulator was replaced. Again, when the vehicle arrived at the residence the fuse box began to spark and the windows stopped working. The vehicle was taken back to the dealership and a fuse was replaced, but the windows remained inoperable.

The driver and front passenger windows have defects. The consumer heard a popping noise when rolling the window down, and then the window would not go up or down. The window on the passenger side is half way. The driver side has been repaired.
While lowering driver's power window a snap occured and the window fell to the bottom. I contacted my local repair center. They informed me that it was a dealer only item. That the entire regulator assembly would have to be replaced. I spoke to the dealership and they informed me they had gone through hundreds! I veiwed the broken item and the steel cable seemed to be a design flaw, allowing water to settle at cable entrance. Why replace the entire regulator $235. 91?.

Both front door power windows fail to operate. The motors make a grinding noise and the windows will not fully open or close. The glass panels apparently are not attached as they can be moved by hand. The failures have occurred within two days of each other and have been vary rarely been opened since the vehicle was purchased.
Rear windows intermittently would not work and then both failed at the same time. N eeded to replace both motors and regulators. Cost of repair exceeded $425. 00. Apparently there is a service bulletin on this and a known defect like this should be covered by the manufacturer.
While the van was parked in the driveway with the engine running toddler poked head out of the rear passenger side window, and put hand on the door arm rest, where the power window controller switch was located. The window started going up, toddler paniced and pushed down harder on the controller switch, and window continued going up and chocked the toddler. Consumer felt that a child proof device should be installed in all of the windows to prevent such incident from occurring.
All of the windows except the driver's window would not roll up or down. Vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the consumer that the power window motor needed to be replaced.
The two rear power windows on my 2000 chevy Tahoe developed internal intermittent shorts at the exact same time. I have also experienced trouble with the two front power windows not working at times. The dealership stated they have seen prior problems with the power windows in the Tahoe's. My vehicle only had 23751 miles on it at the time the back window motors were replaced. I was charged over $400. 00 for these repairs. It seems to me the problem with the motors is a factory defect and I shouldn't be held liable for the expense of replacement.
Neither one of the electric passenger windows will work. One will work at times and then at other times it will not. The window will not go down or up. This could purpose a problem especially with people with small children. You would have to break a glass to get in the passenger windows if needed. Chevrolet should fix this problem as it is a recurring problem in the Tahoe. I would be glad to know they are willing to fix this problem.
Over a two week period both side view mirrors fell off the vehicle. Gm/chev. Would like me to purchase the entire assembly for $280. 00 each times 2 or $580. 00. I checked with auto parts recylclers they can't keep them in stock. It is a very common problem. The adhesive will not stand up to temperature variations.

Vehicle has electrical doors/windows. Window on passenger side and two rear windows will not go down at all. He has contacted the dealership.
Purchase from local independent auto dealer(off lease at wholesale auction). Very dangerous windshield wiper problem in rain at high speeds. Don't know if NHTSA campaigns 98v150001,98v150000,96057000 have been done. Rear left passenger power window working intermitently. Low thunking or pop noise when pulling off on passenger side concerns me. May be a/c related or possible steering component.

Location of power window control panel on drivers side door panel placed where if drivers leg touches the right power window switch the passenger side window can be opened inadvertently. Power window control panel should be relocated higher. This problem occurs when rounding and corner and ones knee rest on this panel.
